I have tried many other birth control pills, and Yasmine has been the best one I have tried. My skin has cleared up, my periods are light and last about 3 days, and I have minimal cramping than before I was on birth control, and I have actually lossed wieght(about 5 lbs). I have been on it for 7 months, and the first couple of months I did have breast tenderness, and was a little bit more emotional than usual, but after 3 months of being on it those symtoms have faded. Every woman has different hormones, and I only hope that everyone will find something that works for them like Yasmine has done for me. Just remember to eat healthy, exercise regularly, and have safe sex.

I went on this 3 weeks ago to regulate my periods and help with my skin, which wasn't that bad. Since I have been on it my skin had been much worse, and I feel down and anxious almost all the time. I'm not sure if the anxiety is from being ashamed of my skin or the pill

Hi

I was actually looking for information about what would happen if I had forgotten to take the pill and had intercourse-whether I would become pregnant. I didnt expect to see these board.

I have noticed a increase in breast size (a full cup), since I just turned 20 I just thought I was still growing. Upon looking back, I'm irratible, but im not sure if its due to the pill or stress from school. I also had spotting a few times, and have had severe cramps and headaches (doc thought it was because i'm very very flexable) I also have had lots of problems with infections and im thinking it started when i switched to Yasmin . But im not certain this is due to the pill. Has anyone else had an unusal aount of infections that seem to have no instigator?

Thanks for writting I didnt realize the harm it is causing

Yasmin is free here in England. I went on it after dianette to help with my skin. it did work for my skin but after 3 months I had my first panic attack. I had never suffered with anything like this before. I didn't put it down to the pill at first but after 2 trips to the doctor, after 3 months of suffering anxiety and feeling like i wanted to kill myself, we put it down to Yasmin. I ended up on antidepressants, and felt a failure for having an episode like this.my skin got worse briefly and then seemed to calm down. had a baby in august and my skin was brilliant. it's just started to erupt again but am hoping it will calm down once my hormones have settled (and my hair stops falling out!). It has put me off the contraceptive pill for life. never again.

I switched my birth control to Yasmin after learning that it could help with hormonal acne. I'm 27 and have had moderate to severe acne since i was about 12. I've tried every over-the-counter and prescription med, and been on several birth control pills to try and control it. Nothing really worked. my face was so painfully full of acne 3 months ago it hurt to smile, i had to do something! I am finishing my 3rd month of Yasmin and can say that my face has never been this clear! I still have scaring, but my face is so smooth and clear of any new acne!! An undesirable side effect for me is that I have increased my bra size by a cup size (36D to DD)- no weight gain though, but I have no problem buying new bras for a clear face! periods have been fine, and even shorter than on other pills! If you don't have any of the horrible side effects others have described, stick with it! It took over a month before i started to see a change but in the 3rd month it was amazing!

I started taking Yasmin when I was about 21. I do not believe it made me less prone to acne ( I only ever had mild acne at that stage) and in fact, it got worse whilst on it. Like a lot of the messages on this board, Yasmin made me feel very depressed. I can definately attribute the feelings of depression to Yasmin, as I was on and off it for about 3 years and every time I was on it, I felt extremely depressed. It made me have really low self esteem, I felt worthless, empty and cried all the time. I also stopped wanting to be around people and I think I damaged a few relationships because I was so moody and anxious. It is important to note though, that I have been on another brand of pill before which gave me the same feelings of depression so it is not just Yasmin that appears to have this affect.
For me, Doxycycline improved (even stopped) my acne really well, however both times I have stopped taking the antibiotics my acne has returned.

I started taking Yasmin after several years on Orthtrycyclin Lo because the Ortho was causing me to spot, or at times have entire periods more than once every 28 days. When I first started taking Yasmin, I noticed an increase in my sex drive, which was delightful to both my husband and I >;). But then after being on it for a few weeks, I started going through bouts of depression and mood swings - basically, I just wanted to punch everyone in the face or not get out of bed at all. In the days after Christmas this year, I spent an entire 48 hours in the same pair of jammies, laying on the couch with the blankets wrapped around me, sniffling and crying for no good reason. People at work also noticed me not being a cheerful and talkative, and I started not enjoying my work as much as I usually do (I'm a nurse). I even called in sick just because I didn't feel like taking care of anyone else. Yesterday, I finally broke down and called my OB/GYN and told him what was going on, and who has started me on the NuvaRing.

Come to find out - I certainly am not the only one sniffling on the couch after taking Yasmin!! I wouldn't take it again if my life depended on it.

well i have been on Yasmine for almost 3 1/2 months and my acne got really bad in the beginning but i think its starting to get better. i recently got a facial and asked the lady who was giving it to me if skin gets worse before it gets better and she told me yes. my skin is begining to get better but i am hoping it isnt just a fase. i went on accutane too and i am considering taking it again because i am such a skin freak. i heard by the fourth month it gets better. so if anyone has the guts, hold out.

i used orthotricyclen for about a year and it made me incredibly moody and acne-prone. switched to yasmin, less moody (believe it or not) and my acne has improved a great deal. i also use benzaclin.
