I have been taking Yasmine for nearly 2 years. It has helped regulate my periods and decreased the cramping that I have always had. It has shortened them to 3 days also. It hasn't 100 percent cured my acne, but it has helped tremendously. The only downside has been decreased sex drive which I suspect is caused by the Yasmine because this problem started soon after starting this pill. I used to take Orthotricycline a few years back...it 99% cleared my acne up and increased my sex drive. But my family doctor talked my into going off of it(which I regret). When I went back on it again but I couldn't tolerate the Orthotricycline anymore. So that is when I tried the Yasmine and I haven't had any problems with it except the loss of sex drive. I am afraid to go off of it because I don't want my skin to break out bad again. I think I would recommend this pill but if it causes you bad side-effects then stop taking it.

This BC has been horrible for me. I know it works different for everyone..but this is not the pill for me. I have only been taking Yasmin for 3 weeks, and since then it seems my world has turned upside-down. I have been SEVERLY depressed, so much as to where I almost packed up and moved to a different city because I thought these feelings were stemmed from other problems. I have been blaming everything on my boyfriend, and we have constantly been arguing/fighting/whatever you want to call it with each other. He has pretty much been irritated with me since day 3 of me taking this BC. I'm serious, this stuff could be really bad. I scheduled an appointment with a Psychologist because I felt so depressed and anxious all the time. I even had an anxiety attack on my way to work the other day.

I don't know what to say for you, but I think that this BC is HORRIBLE!! Try it if you want, but the second you start feeling this way STOP TAKING IT. It isn't worth it and there is probabaly a better fit BC out there for you.

Yasmine was the pill I tried after I had been on Diane 35 for 4 years and they recommened not taking that one anymore. It was awful. I became really depressed and had 0 sex drive. I also found that it caused more acne then when I wasn't taking a pill. I quit after four months and my mood and skin improved within a week. I am always cheeful and while I was on this pill my boyfriend noticed such a change in me that he was the one who wanted me to stop taking it. I really don't reccomend this pill.

Yasmin works fine for me. I haven't noticed any moodiness or anything. Side effects I have noticed are breast tenderness and enlargement. Also, a great side effect is slower hair growth!! Everywhere...it's great.

I'm 21, have been on Yasmin for 9 months. Had nausea and headaches for first few months, then the depression and anxiety kicked in. I couldn't work out why i felt so down and then i realised it was the pill. However, did help to clear up a little acne. Choosing another one, who cares if i gain a kilo or two it's not worth feeling upset all the time.

I have been on Yasmin for a couple of years now. I must say that I have tried just about every form of birth control and usually the worst have been some moodiness and weight gain. My sister recommended Yasmin because it was supposed to be less prone to these symptoms. It was just about the same as everything else BUT since I began to research the drug, I realized that it has been responsible for my lose of libido and anxiety. I am off it now but my rec. is NOT TO TAKE THIS PILL!!! Its not worth it.

I have now been on Yasmin for almost 6 months. I was more giving into the give it time philosophy assuming that my mood swings would subside over time as I adjusted to this new birth control. Not the case, I have never felt this anxiety ridden since my diet pill days in high school. I've been describing to my friends how I've been in a funk for quite some time (not energetic, depressed, bored with life and irritated about the little stuff). I switched to Jasmine months ago due to break through bleeding on previous pill Trust me if I knew then what I know now the breakthrough bleeding was a blessing in comparison to my mood fluctuations. The worst part has been the horrible headaches. I started keeping track of what # pill I was on when they occurred. There was definitely a pattern. Some days I would just feel like something bad was on the rise and even worry about my daughter going to school (ridiculous right). Recently my husband inquired that the mood changes could be related to the birth control change. I beleive he's right - My poor husband has had to endure all of this emotional turmoil. I finally went on line to see if there were similar symptons of others and low and behold most of what I've read is all too familiar to me. I am calling my OB tomorrow - What a breakthrough I finally feel like it's not me going off the deep end. I should have put it all together when my husband said recently "You know your so much nicer and relaxed when your actually on your cycle these days. Go figure.

I have been on Dianette for 4 years alltogether to treat my bad skin, which worked fine, although doctor said I should change to another pill with a lower doses. So now am taking Yasmin, (I have just started) I hope my skin won't get bad again and won't get any panic attacks or depression.

been on Yasmine for 3 months. 28 yrs old. been on other pills that made me suicidal, moody, etc, but this was the first pill that made me feel actually normal. this is the most expensive pill in Australia- $60 for 3 packs. had severe headaches & nearly fainted. speach problems. thought i had a stroke, but was just a severe headache. major decrease in sex drive. loss in appetite (yeah). numbness in legs (really sore) if sit at desk during day. did actually like that my periods were so much shorter & lighter, & not painful. BUT- am going off it now, due to the constant headaches, leg soreness. am going to miss the non- consequences of spontaineous sex.
