Pros: none so far, but its early days Cons: increase in acne (!!), extreme tiredness, bigger breasts, increased appetite, some depression and general crazy weepiness Bottom Line: I have only been using Yasmin for 12 days and consider it way to early to make a judgement yet, but thought I'd post now to offer a suggestion to those suffering side effects. After literally being unable to get myself out of bed last weekend due to the fatigue this stuff brings on, as well as depression that saw me unable to do simple things, like iron my shirt for work the next day, or put on some washing, I have started having the pill during the evenings, rather than mornings over the past three days. I take it around 7pm and by the time I wake up and get on with my day 12 hours later, those side effects are completely gone. I feel like my old self again! I feel fine! When taking it during the mornings, I really noticed the side effects come on and stay put for about 12 hours. For those of you trying to see this blo*ody thing through to the 3rd month in the hope it may do something (anything!) to improve your skin, I STRONGLY recommend taking it at nights - best of l Recommended: Yes Usage: AC has used this item for about a week. Pros: My acne cleared up really well, still get the ocassional blemish but when I think back to how bad it was it's a massive improvement! Cons: Disn't have any funny side effects, no weight gain nothing. Having been on the pill for 5 years (I am now 20) I am experiencing cervical erosion due to the contraceptive pill... Bottom Line: Really good if you want to get rid of acne but don't get addicted like I did otherwise you could experience serious health risks like cervical erosion. I used contraceptive pills after nothing else would work and they did have a dramatic effect! I am going to have to stop now though and am hoping to find an alternative! Pros: Drastically reduced oily skin, helped acne Cons: While it fixed my acne, it made everything else about my body worse! I had cramps in my legs, couldn't sleep, terrible nausea and migraine headaches, changed appetite, depressed numb feeling, heart palpitation, drowsy Bottom Line: I tried to stick out the bad side effects, because topicals and antibiotics haven't done enough for me, but in the end I just couldn't stand it anymore and went off it. It wasn't worth it. I'd recommend trying it though, because not everyone has side effects, you won't know until you try, and you can always go off it. Pros: -not pregnant -huge boobs!! ( from an A cup to a C) -no nausea, no mood swing ! Cons: -Really really bad cysts acne !! i felt awfull !! all over my mouth, very painful!! never really had acne since i was a teen.( 7 years ago). Lower self esteem because of it. Stop taking it but after 6 mouths i still battle with this HUGE Cysts. Bottom Line: seriously if you do not have acne, do not take this pill ! if you have, maybe it will help you but if not, be prepare to have a lot of big friends on your face ! i'm now on the pill aviane ( generics for alesse) and no changes yet. Pros: bigger boobs, no cramps, prevents pregnancy, A little less acne, cost Cons: none that i have noticed so far Bottom Line: Im using the generic kind which I got for 10 dollars on insurance so worth it now. I only have acne really on my forehead and now its slowly going away. I drink lots of water and take vitamin b daily to prevent side effects. Pros: slight increase in breast size Cons: serious bloating, nausea, vomiting, spotting, acne breakouts, moody Bottom Line: i'm currently into my third week of birth control and i have not seen any improvements. the first week i've experienced bloating, spotting and an increase in acne (on my back i got huge ones that are painful.) i used to be on yasmin and it worked wonderfully. so i went back on it, and now its a completely different story. i have insurance so for a 3 month supply i paid like 15 dollars. Pros: slightly better mood, regular periods, decreased facial hair, less acne Cons: nausea, breast tenderness, bloating, slight weight gain (but I love junk food,so...), slight increase in urinating at times (it is a diuretic) Bottom Line: I've been on Yasmin since June 2006. I've read horror stories, but so far, everything's been okay. I hope it'll stay that way. I haven't tried coming off of them yet, so I'm kind of worried when that time comes.
