Pros: weight loss,no periods when taken consistently and better moods. Cons: spots on face, leg cramping after being on it for 4 years and forgetting to take it,lol. Pros: No weight gain, bigger chest, hair and nails seem healthier Cons: Mood swings more often, nausea constantly, having to pee a lot, HUGE initial breakout, appetite is huge, heavy periods Bottom Line: I just finished my first month so maybe this is too soon to review. I take Ocella, which is the generic of Yasmin. NOTE: OCELLA AND YASMIN ARE MADE BY THE SAME PHARMACEUTICAL LAB AND DO NOT DIFFER AT ALL EXCEPT IN PACKAGING AND YOUR BRAIN THINKING IT'S DIFFERENT. It ain't. It has a big initial breakout, I had lots of deep whiteheads and cysts and it's bringing them up. I'm having to deal with it but my skin seems to be healing which I can wait for! It is working. Made my chest bigger which I don't need because I'm already a 34DD but hey if you're flat it helps. It made my hormones out of control, but it's getting better as time goes on. I would suggest this brand, but STICK to it for at LEAST 3 months. I am improving and my hair & nails seems so much healthier- must be the estrogen. A really good pill, get the generic if you're strapped for cash, works exaaactly the same. Recommended: Yes Usage: L has used this item for about a month. Pros: lighter period, no cramps Cons: increased appetite, strange pain in legs, diminished sex drive Bottom Line: the fact is, that all combination pills kill the sex drive. the reason being, that they stop the production of androids (malehormones in woman) that cause the sexdrive. This is why acne clears out as well. Even the official pages say, that Yasmin works byt "tricking" the body thinking it is already pregnant. What does a pregnant lady do? Eat, and again eat. I am worried about the leg cramps, probably will endure the pms and period pain so I can feel healthy and normal again. So wont continue. Pros: Prevents pregnancy Cons: Serious cramps and blood clots... 2 periods during the first month Bottom Line: I had previously been on yasmin about a year ago, but I was so careless I just didn't take them all the time. I just got back on them after I had my daughter and they are already giving me problems I am on my period for the second time this month. And I have huge blood clots and it is very painful. Everyone is different... read about the health risks on both yasmin and yaz, they are very shocking! If u are having serious side effects u can possibly get compensation! Pros: Helped control acne, lighter periods, feel great on it Cons: If i forget a pill my skin looks worse the next day..other than that its great. Bottom Line: I have had severe acne for over 3 years and nothing worked that my dermatologist perscribed. I needed to go on BC so she told me to try this. My skin dramatically cleared! I have like one or two zits when I get my period but other than that my skin is very smooth. The lighter periods are a plus too! Recommended: Yes Usage: lexi has used this item for a few months. Pros: Cleared my skin within a few days!!!! FEW DAYS!!! .....No weight gain Cons: Seems as though I have to pee every 30 seconds? Mood Swings Bottom Line: I have a copper IUD so this is not my main form of BC. This product has totally cleared my skin. I seen results within a few days. Pros: Clear skin, I didn't gain weight (and I eat a lot).Bigger boobs and lighter/shorter period. Cons: I urine a lot!! :( sucks it ruins my beauty sleep. Bottom Line: the pill is pretty good. When I first use the pill my face was a mess. I had a lot pimples on my forehead and a couple on my cheeks. These pimples were huge and it was totally embarrassing. I did not want to leave my house. Fortunately this pill made my face all better. It actually took awhile before it started working. If you have a lot pimples and just started using Yasmin you should see results after 6 months. But don't just rely on the pill, clean (wash) your face daily and use a moisturizer in the morning and at night. Recommended: Yes Usage: Gem has used this item for about a year. Pros: Really cleared up my skin; I didn't have to use anything else. Cons: Gave me a blood clot, and now I'm off it. Bottom Line: If you're under 30 and have moderate acne, it can work wonders. However, it's one of the worst BCPs for causing blood clots, so if you smoke or are overweight, it may not be the best choice. Recommended: Yes Acne severity: moderate Was this comment helpful? Pros: No weight gain, not pregnant, controlled acne (didn't even get breakouts before period), firmer breasts, no side effects Cons: None Bottom Line: This is the first time I use birth control and I was worried about the weight gain. My doctor told me that the pill does not cause weight gain rather it MIGHT stimulate the appetite. So if you over eat you will gain weight if your able to control your cravings then you won't. He also added that people use it as an excuse. For me, it had no effect on my appetite, so I have maintained and even lost a few pounds while on it.That being said, I had no negative side effects on Yasmin. Works great!! I would recommend this pill, however, everyone's body is different. Recommended: Yes Usage: Jen has used this item for about a month.
