Pros: made me lose weight initially but then my weight returned to the same by the end of the month Cons: i never had bad skin and it made me break out. I have had break outs before, quite bad ones before my period but in general i have nice skin and yasmin made me get small un-poppable ( yes i know, gross ) bumps. Bottom Line: I had been off the pill for a year after being on alesse for 5 years and during this time i tried yasmin 2ce on seperate occassions. Each time i only lasted a month before i couldn't handle how bad it made my skin. When i went off of alesse and I lost 5-10 pounds in water weight within the first week or so. This was strange to me because alesse is one of the lowest doses of bc...just shows what artificial hormones do to your body over a long period of time i suppose. After a year of being off the pill and having extremely painful period cramps (where i couldn't move and lay in bed and cried for hours), I've decided to go back on the pill. I don't want to go back to alesse because now I know of the weight build up it brought on. My roommate recommended tri-cyclen lo so I'm on my first week of that now, however, everyone says that yasmin or yaz clears up skin..eventually? and enables you to lose weight so I'm wondering if i should just tough it out and give it a 3rd shot. Pros: Yasmin has been great at preventing pregnancy. It also has completely cleared up my skin...I used to have acne all over my face, but I don't have any since taking Yasmin!! Cons: A little expensive for me, but it will depend on your insurance. I switched to the generic form and it works exactly the same for me! So, that has helped save some money. Bottom Line: Try it! It might take some time to find the right birth control pill for you, but Yasmin is worth trying, especially if you are currently suffering from acne. Pros: lost weight.. can be a good thing for some people but bad thing for other... if your skinny already don't try because you will loose your appetite Cons: ACNE!! even if i don't break out my skin just looked bad.. i didn't have any glow to my skin at all... you will not just get the pimple that you can pop., you get the huge under the skin ones that leave dark spots on your face Bottom Line: no pregnancy but horrible on skin.. and body if your skinny like me... you will look like a skeleton if you use it long.. i don't like it at all Recommended: No Usage: mia has used this item for a few months. Pros: My skin feels and looks great no problems love yaz. i was on the depo shot for a long time. i got off that and took yaz i tryed everything to lose the extra pounds had not luck, when i got on yaz i lost 7 pound in like a week or two i was like wow. Cons: when i first started taking yaz i did have a sharp pain in my stomach but it passed. but that is all i have had. thank god Bottom Line: i love it. and will use it for a long time. ohh when i went to the doctor she said it would be about $50.00 dollors well i went and it was only $6.63 so yea i like my insurance to, Recommended: Yes Usage: Angela has used this item for a few months. Pros: prevention of pregnancy Cons: I choosed Yasmin for my excellent birth control. and it help me for my acne too. It decreases bloating, irritability, and monthly blood lost. I got it avaliable online, so bringing the cost much lower. Bottom Line: only Moodiness and weight loss just a few week on first time that i tried it. ... now it's good and do not have siddeeffect anymore Recommended: Yes Usage: nudee has used this item for a few months. Pros: Definitely cleared up my acne after 6 months of use. No pregnancies!!! Relatively inexpensive. Lighter, 3 day periods!!! Cons: Some depression at first, but that faded. Some breast pain, like when you get your period. Bottom Line: I got on Yasmin because I was desperate for an acne solution, and heard that progesterone could help. I had tried Ortho Tri- Cyclen, but that didn't work. Pro-Active, and other acne treatments made my skin worse. So, I vowed to try Yasmin for a year and if it didn't work I'd just give up. After 6 mos. my skin was sooo much better, and I was sooo much happier. My periods even got lighter, and used to last 7 days, and then only 3 days. Also I wasn't worried about getting pregnant, which was a plus since I was really only using Yasmin for my acne. After a year my skin was almost completely clear...but then my insurance changed and wouldn't cover it anymore..so since my skin was clear I just went off of it. After 3 months I started breaking out again, annnd getting lots of abcesses. After about 6 mos. of not being on Yasmin my skin is totally back to crappy acne take over. So, I just decided I'm going to pay $66 a month for it..it'll be worth it to me, if I can have clear skin again. Recommended: Yes Usage: Kathleen has used this item for about a year. Pros: not pregnant, good skin, thinner, boobs fuller, higher sex drive, light period, Cons: leg cramps, stomach aches, mood swings Bottom Line: very good birth control, i like it a lot so far except for the leg cramps and moodiness. Pros: Face and back cleared up entirely, no weight gain or increased appetite, but I did fill out up top a little more (nothing major though). Shorter lighter periods are nice as well. Cons: I was a little nauseous & my face broke out some the first week I started taking Yasmin. Also, my insurance doesn't want to cover any more refills after the first three, so I'm having to pay full price right now. Bottom Line: Aside from my insurance not preferring Yasmin, I absolutely love it. But stick with it for at least three months, that's about how long it before I started seeing major results. I had a mean case of cystic acne before and I still had to have some cysts drained while I first started taking Yasmin, but I'm almost five months into it & haven't had a problem for about 2 months. Now, I rarely have any zits. I haven't had any cysts in a while, which is amazing! And I don't break out before my periods anymore. I can go out without makeup, which I've never been able to do. I use Cetaphil & Benzaclin at night as well, and it works perfectly for me. My advice: just stick with it for a few months. There were some times where I was discouraged & thought it wasn't working, but just give it some time. Recommended: Yes Usage: Brittany has used this item for a few months. Pros: my face cleared up so much after 2 months Cons: I have my period every month :( Bottom Line: I never had my period, I believe that is why I broke out constantly.
