| Pros: | Yasmin is the only way I have found to stabilize my hair loss. I went on Yasmin 9 years ago. Recently my Dr. took me off and sure enough my hair started to fall out again. I am back on but need to get my BP under control. |
| Cons: | When I go to the Dr.'s I sometimes have borderline high blood pressure, now Dr. is always saying that I might not be able to stay on pill. |

| Pros: | Clears skin. No weight gain. |
| Cons: | Once you stop taking this after using if for an extended length of time...your acne may be worse than it was before you started this BCP. Be warned!!! |
| Bottom Line: | Do not take unless you have to! I am in my mid 20's and I've never had to deal with acne like this until now. I took this for BC purposes. I had great skin prior to using this; only one or two monsters a month. My skin stayed the same throughout the 3 years I was on it. I stopped this 9 months ago and now I have moderate acne and scarring. |

| Pros: | No weight gain except for in the areas that are nice to have bigger. No sickness. No bad effects on complexion. |
| Cons: | Huuuuuuge decrease in libido. |
| Bottom Line: | As a birth control, its 100% effective for me because since i've started it, i haven't wanted to have sex at all.

| Pros: | Weight loss (& no bloating around period), clear skin, no babies!! |
| Cons: | zero libido (which kinda defeats the purpose of taking birth control!), moodiness/irritability, lack of motivation. |
| Bottom Line: | I was on Brenda last year to help clear my skin, which worked but I put on 5 kilos! Doc recommended Yasmin as it helps with fluid retention other pills can cause. It worked great for me, lost the 5 kilos and really cleared up my skin. I went off the pill for most of this year to give my body a break from the hormones but am getting married in Oct so decided to go back onto Yasmin. I have been taking it again for about 3 months now, I have lost around another 3 kilos and my skin is already much better but not completely clear yet. My face is great but still getting breakouts on my back and chest (although MUCH better than before). I hope it will clear it completely cos it did last time I was on it. Hopefully in the next two months my skin will be fixed so i can have clear skin for my wedding! |

| Pros: | Bigger boobs (due to weight gain I guess) |
| Cons: | Weight maintained - as I have been trying to loose weight. I know if I wasn't on it, I would have dropped 3 kg but it is so hard now to loose weight. |

| Cons: | headaches. when i dropped 20 pounds, i started to experience nausuea [4th month], extreme decline in sex drive |
| Bottom Line: | Took 2 months to see difference in PCOS symptoms, but it worked. For some reason instead starting my period on day 22, i start on day 25 and i end on next month's day 2. Im assuming the more you weigh, the less severe the symptoms are. Made me much happier for reasons im not sure of. And a huge decline in sex drive. But thats ok becasue i feel i can concentrate better that way [it was really high before] About the cost, its 5 dollars for every 3 months with my insurance. |

| Bottom Line: | After being on alesse for a few months my acne started getting alot worse and i was spotting all the time, it was like i was on my period 24/7.
so my doctor suggested i switch to yasmin which i have been using for about a month now. so far it seems like if it is clearing my skin it's doing so by bringing everything to the surface because it seems like i'm breaking out very often, but there seems to be less "lurkers".
hopefully it will completely clear up in the next few days. |
