Pros: cleared acne very well!! periods are very pradictable, bigger boobs Cons: slight headaches every now and then. Bottom Line: when i went to my doctor she told me of how great yasmin is and how it works like a charm for her acne, one thing she didnt mention is how my ance would be getting worse before it gets better. as i was just about to get off yasmin because of my ance getting worse on my face, neck and back. i googled yasmin and discovered the acne gets worse before it gets better. stick with it!! after the first two or three months i saw a drastic improvement!!! Pros: Cleared up acne, Did not gain weight, Not pregnant, Boobs grew about 1/2 a cup size. Cons: I think this BC had made me very anxious and a bit crazy. I had very irrational fears/anxieties that I never noticed prior to starting this? Bottom Line: I started 100 mg daily of Spiro in conjunction with this to fight my adult hormonal acne. I cannot be sure which one of these made me feel very fearful and anxious but since ceasing this medication those symptoms have gone away. I also seem to have my period for 2 weeks every month? After 4 months I have stopped the Yasmin altogether and just take the Spiro. It was very expensive without insurance, I got the name brand not the generic. Pros: Lighter regular periods. When i first started using it i had breakouts but skin looks better after 2 months-not like it used to be. Cons: Does not help with mood swings at all. Very very low sex drive!!! Sore boobs week before. Bloated thrue most of the month. Cant get it without prescription. Bottom Line: I first want to finish my prescription i got for 6 months - been using for 3- before i stop this pill. I changed my pill for the mood swings, bloting and weight. Had absolutly no acne. Yasmin did not change my weight, bloating is worse. Happy to see i am not the only one with low sex drive. Would not recomend this to anyone. Pros: My period is predictable Cons: I haven't had a break out this bad since puberty, occasional nausea which can be avoided if I take it at night. Bottom Line: I'm about a month and a half into using Yasmin and am getting hit hard by the whole "getting worse before it gets better" breakouts. I'm determined to stick it out but I have to admit, I would love nothing more than to hide out for the next month or two for all this purging to pass. I'm doing this only to improve my acne, I would gladly take on more side effects if this actually yields results. We'll see how it goes, in the meantime if anyone else out there has Yasmin success stories as far as clearing up acne is concerned, I'd LOVE to hear more of them; I need all the motivation I can get right now. ps- ratings/recommendation subject to change... Pros: Helps my skin, but i think that forms of generic ortho-tri cyclen have worked better. Normal periods, but that has never been my struggle. Cons: Doesn't help my skin as much as I would hope for. Occasional cysts. I definitely still have emotional effects of a period, it does not help me with this at all, almost seems to have a negative affect. Bottom Line: OK, more expensive than my generic orotho...but it is such a pain to switch birth controls. I had one generic orotho REALLY not work for me that is when I switched to YAZ. (when I have switched insurances different pharmacies have had different generics...they have different effects/ results). Recommended: Yes Usage: katy has used this item for about a year. Pros: Bigger boobs (my ten year old sister thought I got implants), clearer skin, no weight gain. Cons: Mood swings, cramps, bad break through bleeding when I first started using it. Bottom Line: Compared to the other pills I've tried, Yasmin is by far the best..(it's expensive for a reason) the other pills turned me into somebody my boyfriend at the time couldnt even recognise, i'd have violent mood swings and he actually broke up with me one stage because of it, gained weight, bloated so much, started getting pimples, the only positive was larger breasts so i stopped taking it and i was too scared to go on anything else, after I ended our 4 year relationship and started to mingle i realised i needed to go back on the pill, told the doctor about my syptoms and he straight away suggested yasmin, i havent looked back since, i havent gained any weight, my mood swings are still there but they are bareable, and i can control them. my boobs have become even bigger and my skin has cleared up even though i dont look after it well at all (oops) Recommended: Yes Price Paid: 15.00 Acne severity: very light Was this comment helpful? Pros: Prevents acne, lessens oil (just a bit) Cons: Inital breakout Bottom Line: I'm on my 3rd month of OCELLA, the generic version. Luckily I know the cause of my acne, which is due to too many androgens/imbalanced hormones. The first two months of this pill, I did have an initial breakout--but I stuck with it. The IB has gradually been decreasing and I'm expecting it to stop completely by the end of Month 4. I noticed a significant decrease in oil on my face the first two months, but now it is now less significant (not sure why; maybe the chaning of the seasons). I DID NOT have any of the typical negative effects of birth control...nausea, headaches, etc. It was smooth sailing from the start (this is my first time on BC). Oh and my periods last only 3 or 4 days! So basically this birth control have been "my cure". I usually don't review things for fear or jinxing them, but I had to add my positive experience for the benefit of others...I now *knock on wood* after this whole review! Pros: Less Mood swings, less Bloating, no acne very clear skin Cons: Chronic Yeast Infections, Very Low Sex drive, some weight gain just before period Bottom Line: I used to use Tri-cyclen lo and that made me gain tons of weight, and as well as the yeast infections every month, so i switched to yasmin and altough it is better in some ways i do have to take Preboitic pills while i'm on the pill to prevent from having yeast infections. so these are gone. i have also been taking herbal supplements for the low sex drive and they defintely work! but i'm thinking of getting of the pill all together just to see if my body goes back to normal!!!!! Pros: no babies, no babies...they are cute but no babies, clearer skin sorta. Cons: fiery emotions! mood swings, cramps. Bottom Line: i have never had such bizarre mood swings. ever. i have been on it for only a month so i don't know if i would recommend this pill or not. i think it's worth trying. very expensive! (less than a kid) but is my main reason why i am changing and possibly waiting till i'm 18 perhaps. Pros: Cleared up my acne, less oily skin, bigger breasts, regular period Cons: afternoon headaches, mood swings, stomach cramps Bottom Line: After having my Dermoid cyst removed, I started to break out really badly in acne. I was rather worried that I would have another cyst as I was starting to have stomach cramps off on, and some ultrasound scans showed that I had developed a small cyst. So my gynae recommended that I try the Yasmin pill, which was awesome for my acne. Cleared up entirely, but I started to get headaches everyday right after lunch. I used Yasmin for 1 year and it helped clear up my acne completely...I've stopped it for 3 months now and the headaches stopped within a week! But my acne started back after about 2 and a half months. I'm now still contemplating on whether I should get back on it. My doc recommended another pill - Diane, which she said might work better for acne, but that the headaches I got were entirely subjective. I read online that the Diane pill causes blod clots so I'm not about to try it just yet. Oh and the Yasmin pill also kept me cyst-free.
