Very cheap and effective product. T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel is much better than the generic brands (believe it or not). I had been using Hannaford's brand with no good results then I bought Dickinson's which has an amazingly different effect on my face. Makes my face actually look 'dewy' and moisturized not dried out. I am very happy with this!!!

Pros

  • Doesn't dry out my skin! Very gentle and works great!

Cons

  • none
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 3.79
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I love this stuff. Ive always hated using toners because of how they feel, some are better than others of course but I love this stuff. Its nice and gentle which is a great, refreshing step inbetween the cleanser and the bp.

Pros

  • Doesn't leave stickiness some toners do, doesnt make skin feel tight, gentle, nice clean feel, cheap.

Cons

  • none
  • for a few months
  • $ 2
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Try it out, it may work for you. Most of the acne remedies are hit and miss, eventually one will work for you (I know, that totally sucks).

Pros

  • None for me

Cons

  • I've used this product off and on for years and it's never worked. I know it works for some people, just not for me.
  • $ 1
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I have used this for many years. Works much better on my oily skin than alcohol based toners/astringents, which dry skin out and trick it into thinking that it needs to produce more oil. I use only at night to remove makeup residue left after washing.

Pros

  • Non drying. No fragrance.

Cons

  • None
  • $ 1
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Cheap. Worth a shot. I like the way it smells.

Pros

  • Cheap. Works. My skin feels soft. Doesn't feel all that tight and hasn't dried my skin out.

Cons

  • nothing so far.
  • for a day or two
  • $ 2.5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

it's an awesome base for making Aspirin Toner. (see aspirin mask) I like to in the summer time add aspirin and a few other things to my witch hazel to reduce oil production. But it's Great By it's self

Here's my Aspirin Toner Recipe. All of the items listed below are per 1oz of Witch Hazel.

1 aspirin

1 drop of tea tree oil

1 tbs of Isopropyl alcohol

1 drop of lavender (lavender has antiseptic properties and helps heal scars)

In the winter I eliminate the Tea Tree oil b/c it's far too drying for my skin...... Ultimately most of the toner is witch hazel wich really get's the job done. For those of you out there that are curious, the above has done WONDERS for my skin. Note the price listed below is by month. B/c initially all the stuff above is expensive but it lasts forever.

Pros

  • It's Cheap and you can use it to make Aspirin toner (see aspirin mask) It takes away dirt almost as well as isopropyl alcohol.

Cons

  • It smells. If you've ever had a "tequila episode" the smell might remind you of the tequila episode. At least it did me. That's why I add a drop of lavender per oz of Witch Hazel, ya know to take the edge off. LOL
  • for about a year
  • $ 2.66
  • I recommend using this treatment.

This stuff is great for everyone, but for me ACV is much better.

ACV however can dry out the skin pretty bad for some people. Witch hazel is much more gentle.

Pros

  • Cheap, gentle, effective

Cons

[not submitted]
  • for about a year
  • $ 3
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I love witch hazel. I have been using Dickinson's "Nothing But Clean Facial Toner" that contains mostly witch hazel but includes aloe vera, chamomile, and other soothing, all-natural ingredients. I have heard that plain witch hazel smells kind of weird, but it seems these added ingredients give it a decent smell.

I have fairly mild acne that has persisted for 9 years, and I have finally found the right combination of products to control my complexion. Of those products, witch hazel is indispensable. It makes my skin smooth and appears to be helping with the prevention of breakouts. It's no miracle product, but it's the best toner I've ever used (I've tried dozens, including the Proactiv line).

Pros

  • Effective, natural, and inexpensive.

Cons

  • None thus far
  • for a few months
  • $ 4
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I started using T.N. Dickinsons witch hazel while I was pregnant. I had to discontinue my prescriptions and had horrific acne my first trimester. This really helped alot. I would cleanse with jojoba oil ,then earth science facial wash.I also used earth therapeautics acne serum at night. I have develeped some allergies to propylene glycol and other stabilizers in skin care products over the years, so I had to go all natural. I've had very good results with this regimen. I still have some acne scarring, but the active cysts and pimples have diminished. I also noticed a decrease in facial oil, it was a slick even with tazorac.I would also use nelsons homeopathic acne gel occasionally. The cost for everything is around $25.00 and lasts for months. If there are any pregnant acne sufferers I hope this helps.

Pros

  • Very cheap effective astrigent.

Cons

  • Initial smell is not great, but fades quickly!
  • $ 4
  • I recommend using this treatment.
