Pros You could make someone vomit easily by letting them smell witch hazel.
Cons Smells like warm poop.
Bottom line Witch hazel smells like warm poop. I guess if you enjoy the smell of warm poop smeared all over your face, you would enjoy using witch hazel as a toner. I can't believe how many people review this item and describe the smell as "not so bad" or "nice and earthy"...Yikes! I almost passed out from the smell when I took a whiff of it out of the bottle. I was very disappointed and threw it in the garbage. I will use a different toner. Wow, witch hazel is nasty.

Pros -inexpensive
-natural
-reduces redness
-tightens pores
-doesn't dry skin
Cons -I go through a lot of cotton balls?
Bottom line I use Dickinson's witch hazel. I love the ingredients - witch hazel extract, 14% natural alcohol.

I've had issues with large pores for many years and this is a really effective toner.
It's easy to find. About six bucks for 16 oz.

I use it two to three times a day. It's very refreshing, great after a work out or spending anytime in the heat. (In the summer I keep a bottle in the fridge.)

Pros Deeps cleans, tightens pores, skin feels fresh and clean after using it
Cons none. The smell doesn't bother me.
Bottom line I started having oily skin, and was breaking out like crazy. So I decided to use witch hazel. I have used it in my teen years and it worked fantasic. Now, i'm using it again. I wash my face twice a day with St.Ives green tea cleanser, followed up with witch hazel. I use a lotion on my face rarely. Any lotion with break me out. I'm hoping my skin with be less red in a few weeks, before I graduate from college. This stuff makes face feel clean, makes skin brighter, and leaves your skin with a glow! Try it out, if you were like me, and have tried every product out there, what do you have to lose? Witch hazel is cheap, so you aren't spending big bucks to have it flush down the toilet. Try it!!

Pros cleared up my body acne, cheap, huge bottle lasts a while, doesn't stain not sting
Cons takes a little time to work
Bottom line For months I had a rash-like breakout all along my chest. It cropped up suddenly once my face became clear for some reason (compensatory acne?) I didn't want to use anything harsh, so I tried Witch Hazel. It took a good couple of weeks, but used twice per day, it has cleared my chest acne completely!

Pros makes my skin feel soft after using, cleansing, cheap, effective
Cons the smell
Bottom line I have only used witch hazel for about a week but it really has cleared up my skin. After using it my skin feels super soft and looks glowy and healthy. The only thing I don't like about witch hazel is the smell, but it goes away after about 10 sec after applying so it shouldn't bother you much. I definitely recommend people with to use it before using expensive toners. This really worked for me!
