Vitamin E does indeed help fade scars although it takes a while. I have read a lot of notices posted on this forum about the scars being gone in a week; and I'm afraid that that is probably not true. Vitamin E will take about 6 months to come into full effect and give you clear skin because bear in mind it works with your body to promote healing and new cell growth. I have been using it for 6 weeks and so far I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my complexion, my scars are faded although still present, however it just takes time. For those of you with oily skin, like myself, use vitamin e straight from the capsules. Don't give up...at least give it 6 months and you will see an improvement. Also scientific research does not prove that vitamin e helps to heal scars, however after a little research myself, I realised that the study conducted did not use pure vitamin e, merely a small quantity. Therefore do not be discouraged by time or whatever research says, it does work just be patient!

Vitamin E oil, the best potency is derived from wheat germ oil, 50000iu applied topically at night before you go to bed, after washing your face and toning it as well, use it like a moisturiser/night cream every single night, you'll notice a huge difference in acne scars within a week or so. Do not expect immediate results, I would say minimum 1 week. Cheers folks. All the best to all of us!! xxx

i use vit. e cream on my purple/red 'marks' left after acne. when i went to the doctor about my pimples, i also asked her about the marks. She said that what it is is new skin, not a scar, and in a couple of months it would heal itself, or 'fade'. Since vit. e helps cell regrowth i am using this on the marks, and so far it has helped speed up a process that otherwise could take months naturally.

i've tried everything, and this works the best. my dark purple spots actually faded for the first time in my life, and they come back whenever i stop using this. i put it on once a day before bed. the kind i use is the high gamma gel pills from drug stores. the best way to use it is to punch a hole with a sanitized sewing needle or safety pin, and then squeeze the gel out. after putting on all topical products that probably dont work anyway, apply the gel to all spots, including ice pick scars. it works on them, too. dont bother waiting for it to dry, b/c it never does. if you have long hair, like me, tie it back before bed so none of this gets in your hair. these pills really do work

I don't know how well it works for old scars, but it definitely works on the new ones. They heal much faster and the scarring left behind is minimal or non-existent.
I just pop a Vitamine E capsule and use just where needed, I find it much more hygienic that way. I don't apply to the whole face, so I don't know it's effects on Acne in general.
I have tried it on some dry skin in my eye area and on my dry lips, and it works like a charm. No more dry flaky skin.
I apply the Vitamin E just once a day, at bed time and that works for me.
And just a little tip: I've found that Vitamin E differs based on which company you buy from. Sometimes it's really gooey and sticky and other times it's thin and spreadable, sometimes so spreadable you could wear it under make-up and not look crazy! LOL
So don't give up, just look around till you find one that suits you.

i have been using vitamin e capsule, i pricked it and used it like that. i have a red red pimple mark which is not disapearing at all with vitamin e. although it does help it go flatter. has anyone tried honey and lemon for red marks?
