| Pros | Healthy looking skin, fades scars. |
|---|---|
| Cons | none. |
| Bottom line | I have been taking 1000mg of vitamin c with rosehips for more than a year now; until then i have not had flue; It also helps my skin to become more smoother and acne scars fade away easily. Take it! If it wouldn't help you with your pimples then just use it to have a healthy body and fight diseases. |

| Pros | Stable, topical vitamin c works well in combination with silicone to prevent and treat scars. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stings when the skin is raw, my product is not cheap. |
| Bottom line | I've been using a product called invicible scars. The vitamin c is not oxidizing which other creams have a problem, and together with dimethicone it makes my skin feel good and makes my dots not as red. |

| Pros | I have noticed an improvement with oral Vitamin C supplementation, but topical vit C or forms of always cause me to break out just terribly. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Topical Vit C in creams just becomes oxidized and loses its efficacy, so if you do not have a problem with topical vit c you need to find a powder form and add it in right before you apply it. I found a nice one at marie veronique. |
| Bottom line | Oral Vit C work well on acne, but topical Vit C can cause acne in some, not all people. With me, I get severe acne from topical vit C creams. If Vit C does not give you acne then make sure you add it in right before you apply it because it oxidizes so fast that it is not doing a darn thing because it is already oxidized. It has even lost its ability to lighten the scars....and you are paying extra for that vit c in the creams. Topical vit c works wonders for anti-aging also, so if it doesn't cause acne for a certain individual then it is a must to add to your cream before you apply. Try the anti-aging supplement at marie [link removed]. I unfortunately have to give it to my mother who doesn't get acne. |

| Pros | Helps a little to reduce excess oil and big breakouts. You won´t get flu. Good for your well being. Inexpensive and no side effects. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Erhm, it isnt really an acne treatment. |
| Bottom line | I would recommend it, but for your well being. Doesn´t really help acne if used alone. |

| Pros | Anti-inflammatory! Healthy looking skin! Even toned..no more blotchy red skin..finally!! |
|---|---|
| Cons | Didnt help with preventing the acne itself but helped with ALL the other symptoms of it. |
| Bottom line | If you have skin like mine..EXTREMELY red and inflammed acne all over(even my derm was like wow youre really inflammed) lol also about a million post acne marks that are dark red/purple colored and have bad uneven toned skin (not rosacea) but just really red in places and then really white...then vitamin-c is for you AND your redness haha. I boutght a bottle and have been taking 2,000 mg a day about 2 days ago and my skin has a gorgeous natural EVEN blush to it and i swear it looks like i have makeup on or something it looks so healthy. Scars are fading FAST I already see a huge improvement. Must take atleast 2,000 mg to see a difference and also add curcumin and/or cinnamon supplements to prevent the acne itself! please try! Nothing has ever worked for my inflammation until vit-c..who knew the natural way would be the most affective way..you would never know because doctor's won't tell you they need to make money off of unhealthy perscriptions.. |

| Pros | - Tastes nice and you can take it 3 different ways. (Chewable tablets, drop or effervescent tablet). - Reduces redness, soreness and makes your skin look a lot healthier. - Cheap. |
|---|---|
| Cons | - It's not a 'miracle cure' or a one night wonder, but certainly helps if you take at the same time you do the regime on here. |
| Bottom line | I use Redoxon Vitamin C in the form of effervescent tablets. I take one a day with a large glass of water, which is about 1000mg of Vitamin C. It really helps reduce swelling, light scarring and aids in creating healthier looking skin. After a week of taking this stuff the redness from previous pimples and spots has significantly reduced. However, you might as well eat an orange a day and that's all natural. Some forms of Redoxon contain aspartame (artificial sweetener), so stay clear if you don't like that sort of stuff. Overall, it's a great little supplement to take - just don't expect any instant results. |

| Pros | Pantothenic acid aka vita B5 got rid of some acne, but I still had horrible acne around my jaw line and mouth. I started taking vita C because I got really sick and with in like three days the acne around my mouth and jaw was almost gone. |
|---|---|
| Cons | I noticed that even though the acne around my jaw and mouth was clearing up I started breaking out on my forehead....I would much rather have it on my forehead then around my mouth....looks better when you kiss people....LOL |
| Bottom line | Bottom line Vita C helps but I think it should be taken with high doses of Pantothenic Acid aka Vita B5 I have not tried it but I think that the effects that B5 has on your skin added with the effects of Vita C it might just do the trick....drinking lots of water and eating a more balanced diet has also helped |

| Pros | Healthy - and easy to use |
|---|---|
| Cons | none |
| Bottom line | The bottom line for this discussion on Vitamin C is that treatment for acne has both an internal and external component. I'm a 23 year old female battling with acne for the past 10 years - I've tried literally everything from accutane to OTC topicals to prescription topicals to antibiotics and I've just finally found a regimine for my clear skin. My acne has come in many different forms from moderate to severe cystic, and this regimine works for all of it. I am currently on 50mg daily of Spironolactone (my cystic acne was hormonal) and this cleared up my cystic acne but still left the small white bumps that are incredibly stubborn. In January 2009 I decided to change my diet for health reasons and found it really cleared up the rest of my skin! Cutting back on sugar and red meat and drastically increasing my fruit/vegetable/fish intake has me clear enough to wear no make up for the first time in 10 years! |

| Pros | -reduces hyperpigmentation marks, minimizes red scarring -improves overall skin texture -didn't catch a cold in Canadian winter since taking it |
|---|---|
| Cons | -takes a long time to see results on scarring, and only helps with pigmentation-related scars -stings when applied topically |
| Bottom line | So I have been taking 1000mg of vitamin C daily, and also using it topically (philosophy's turbo booster c powder) mixed into my moisturizer. The overall tone and texture of my skin has been improving, and this is very important to me as a woman in her 30s that has had acne for just over a decade. I had a lot of pigmentation related issues, because even after some of the blemishes had healed, every single one of them left a dark spot on my face. I have very light-colored skin, so trying to cover these up was my biggest challenge every morning. Over the past 6 months, since using vitamin C two ways, i have seen a clear improvement on my skin. It doesnt "get rid of" acne per se, but my skin is healing much faster and my spots are lightening up. I wouldnt recommend this as a cure-all for moderately-severe to severe acne sufferers, but to those who need a little help with pigmentation. |

| Pros | starts to brighten skin... |
|---|---|
| Cons | Causes horrible deep cystic acne - and I usually don't have that problem! Vitamin C is in 80% of facial creams now so finding one that is free of it is tiring... you have to read ingredients VERY carefully because it has at least 15 different names. |
| Bottom line | I am talking uniquely about TOPICAL vitamin C, in facial creams and serums. I have not tried taking it internally. But I am so frustrated because for two years now I have been battling this but find next to no info on the web about it. Topical Vitamin C causes severe acne on my skin, every time, without fail. It sucks because most other women (if not all) find that it does heavenly things... life's not fair!! |
