I've had moderate to serious acne for the past 8 years now (I'm 28) and started using vitamin b5 for the last 3.5 now. It has almost fully cleared the acne on my skin.

I take 10 grams b5 a day and also use biotine and 2 pills of b complex to balance-out the high dosage of b5. At night I also use bp gel at night.

I was plagued with acne moderate for years. I am 26 and have tried most things to no success i took a gamble on b5 about 4 weeks ago. started taking 500mg a day and slowley ramped up the dose to 2000mg a day over a course of two weeks.
I suffer from deep cycstic acne that seemed to break out in exactly the same places on my face as well as pimples and blackheads.

I have been on the 2000mg does for two weeks and have had no side effects and am really chilled out.

My cysts have melted away from my face my skin has never looked and felt so good

This has changed my life to the point where i look in a mirror and dont believe its me.

This is really working don't suffer give it a go

I get those awful under-the-skin red lumps that really hurt, often on my chin and forehead. I started taking a vitamin B suppliment (as well as a vitamin E one) every day, starting from about March 2005 until present. At first it worked really well and my skin cleared up in no time, but in the last two months or so the spots have started to come back again. Ah well, the search continues...

Don't listen to the comments about people who have said it "Doesn't Work" or it "Harms your body", when this could turn you off the a cure for acne that works most of the time. The side effects are well documented, and not very severe. One person claimed it caused "Arthritis", which is completely untrue and impossible. B5 is WATER SOLUBLE, meaning that you cannot overdose as your body only takes what it needs and lets the rest out through digestion. B5 has worked for me, and not only gets rid of acne but really changes your skin texture from the inside out, shrinking pores and eliminating acne. Great stuff, but a tad expensive. If you go with B5, go with 10 grams a day. It can't hurt you, and if you take less, there is a good chance it won't work.

I've been using 1000mg time-release B5 for about 3 weeks now, started with 2 a day then increased it to 3 a day. My skin was VERY OILY and is less now but I think I'll keep with it 3 times a day for a while. No noticeable side-effects for me.I was hoping for more dramatic effects, but maybe over time the oil geysers on my face will dry up more. I hope so! I'm a 41 year old female and have had the greasies since I was around 13. I've paid my dues to the sebum Gods for sure!

To all the girls taking Vit A with their B5. BE CAREFUL!!!! Vit A in doses over a certain amount (it's a low amount) has been linked to BIRTH DEFECTS in women who become pregnant while taking. Even if you are not planning on becoming pregnant; "surprises" happen (especially in OKLA). We have a wonderful child with special needs in our family, but we don't know the cause (I am not implying that it had to do with vitamins - we just don't know). However, being informed of all the risks of ANYTHING you put in your body (even "natural" things is so important! Be CAREFUL and good luck!

yeah lemme tell you i take around 7 pills vitamin b5 a day , a pill of marine beta carotene , and two zinc pills a night with my dinner , this along with lifting weights for exercise has left me alot less prone to breakouts . i have moderate to severe acne , i have still alot of red spots and scarring but my acne has dissapated from the cystic type it was . i rarely break out and believe it is the bodys deficiency of nuttrition and exercise . i hope in another month i can write back with even better news . 1month

B5 has worked wonders for my skin. I had been on antibiotics but they stopped working and my skin just kept getting worse and worse. I was ready to go on accutane but I decided to give B5 a chance first. I'm so happy I did! My skin is almost completely clear most of the time with maybe two or three really really small breakouts (I've been taking it for 2 months now). I can't wait for all these red spots to heal from past blemishes so that I don't have to wear concealer anymore! Definitely give it a try.
