I've been taking B5 for 3 weeks. I take 5 pills 4 times a day equaling 10 grams daily total. My acne is still the same, I dont notice any improvement yet. My face does how ever feel somewhat irritated and it makes me use the rest room alot more ofeten. I'll probably continue for a few months more months then if I dont see any changes will call it quits. Good luck to everyone else.

I took B5 for about 1 month, to be honest it made my condition worse and i broke out severly (all at once) in one area of my face (BIT UNUSUAL). I dont have severe acne any more i used homeopathics to clear up my skin, however i still get breakouts bit i think that is hormone related.

I think it is worth trying B5, each person should see their own individual results, just because it didnt work for me, does not mean it wont work for you!! :)

I am a 37 year old female and have struggled with acne for most of my life. I developed bad cystic acne a year ago, antibiotics didn't help and I was desperate. I found a study done on the efficacy of Vitamin B5 and decided to try it. I took 10 grams of B5 a day for about a month, at which time my acne slowly cleared and my skin texture improved. Unfortunately, I went off the B5 and now the acne has returned, so I am back on Vitamin B5 hoping for a second clearing.

For those who've experienced their acne getting worse after starting a course of B5 I read that because B5 causes reduction in pore size this can cause bacteria to be trapped in the pores causing breakouts. Apparently this passes if you persist with the B5. I am 40 and have taken 2 500mg time-release B5 tablets each day for a month. I don't suffer from spots but am taking it specifically to help reduce pore size. I had an outbreak of spots on my scalp (nothing horrific) which was totally unusual for me, after about 2 wks of taking it. I have taken this as a sign that it was working! In the 2nd month I have now increased to 2g a day (4 500mg tabs), have had no further problems with spots and will report back if I experience any dramatic improvements!

I have had acne for around 6 years, it started when I was 19.. I tried every thing in the books from cleansers, antiobotics, the pill, tetracyline, accutane/// proactive, chinese medicine, drank more water, cut out coffee, chocolate, nothing worked for me!.. I then heard about b5 last year... I saw results within 2 months the redness went, i felt much better the acne reduced totally! I do get break outs now and then so I have decided to go onto the B5 regime again...
You have to try it!

I tried the All In One Vitamin b5 cure tablets which are 1000 mg to expedite the process of my ACNE only to find out that it does nothing at all except leave my skin very dry. I have only been using them for a month but Im going to continue to see if I have to just wait a little longer for it to help improve my severe acne. For African Americans I was told that Ambi products are great for the skin. I am trying to clear complexion soap now to help reduce the size of blemishes and acne scars. It seems to be working slowly but surely.

started seeing results in the first few weeks, then it was downhill. it definately made my skin dry, whereas before taking vilantae 20 pills a day, i only had moderate small pimples, after a month on vilantae it made any spot that i had extremely large and painful, especially on my neck area, and now after being off of it for 2 months I have extremely bad purple scars where old spots used to be, which I never had before taking vilantae, so personally I would recommend it, because although I agree that you may need high dosing I think that while your body does get rid of any of the vitamin b5 that it doesn't need it does have an affect while it is in your body, which in my case has been very bad, I am now using proactiv which is helping as it soothes but also helps to dry out imperfections, although I wouldn't recommend using the cleanser everyday.

I'd been suffering acne for the longest time because of my oily face. I tried different products whatever I can find here in the Philippines, from Neutrogena, Clearasil, Loreal, etc... They all sucks!!! Finally B5, first I was hesitant to try this, because from what I read, you need to megadose to get results, and megadosing does'nt sound good. Eventually, I tried it. I was'nt able to use my mom's Master Card to purchase any B5 in the internet, so I decided to buy GNC 500mg B5 100 capsules which we had here in the Philippines. I started taking 2g a day, 1g in the morning and in the evening. My acne is mild to moderate, that's why I dnt need to megadose the vitamin. Im on my 3rd month now and 99% clear and currently taking 1g a day for maintenance. All I can say, B5 really works!!!

I have been using Vitamin B5 for about ine week now and there is a big difference in my skin and the breakouts i used to get. I started with 1 capsule a day it is 250mg. My skin looks great and the breakouts that I had are gone. It is not expensive you can purchase a bottle of 90 tablets for $9.00 at the natural food store. I take it every morning with my breakfast. I have had no side effects whatsoever. also I have had severe acne for the last 14 years so this is a great relief for me. I consulted with a naturopath at the nutrition house who told me that i tablet a day would be suffient. If you don't want to take accutane then I suggest this vitamin. For the ladies if you tend to break out more during your monthly cycle then One week before double the dose of B5 to 500mg per day. thumbs up for the next best thing since accutane
