My mother-in-law is an expert herblest and and I do kow my vitamins and if and one is concerned about Vitamin B5 their is know concern here. Vitamins arePantothenic acid and are water-soluble vitamins, which means that they cannot be stored by the body and must be replenished every day. They help the body break down and use food. They are part of the B vitamin complex. So there is know way that this is toxcen to your body now there are other vitamis that are now water-sluble and can get toxcen in your vitamis but no vitamin B5 or and of the vitamin complex. Your body needs vitamin b5 like it or not some not as much outers more your and if you take the High dosed not going to harm you but if your body needs the dosed it will use it if not your body will reles it. It might give you the runs espesulay if you do take them with food, but if you think about it beans can give you the runs to are you going to stop eating bean. I had acne sece I was a Shopmore in hight. So my mother in law told me about vitmen b5 so I tryed it it worked and now only take 3 ( about 1.5 grams a day)pills a day for manintace about, but you might concert takeing b complex to even you out.

I've had moderate to serious acne for the past 8 years now (I'm 28) and started using vitamin b5 for the last 3.5 now. It has almost fully cleared the acne on my skin.

I get those awful under-the-skin red lumps that really hurt, often on my chin and forehead. I started taking a vitamin B suppliment (as well as a vitamin E one) every day, starting from about March 2005 until present. At first it worked really well and my skin cleared up in no time, but in the last two months or so the spots have started to come back again. Ah well, the search continues...

Don't listen to the comments about people who have said it "Doesn't Work" or it "Harms your body", when this could turn you off the a cure for acne that works most of the time. The side effects are well documented, and not very severe. One person claimed it caused "Arthritis", which is completely untrue and impossible. B5 is WATER SOLUBLE, meaning that you cannot overdose as your body only takes what it needs and lets the rest out through digestion. B5 has worked for me, and not only gets rid of acne but really changes your skin texture from the inside out, shrinking pores and eliminating acne. Great stuff, but a tad expensive. If you go with B5, go with 10 grams a day. It can't hurt you, and if you take less, there is a good chance it won't work.

I've been using 1000mg time-release B5 for about 3 weeks now, started with 2 a day then increased it to 3 a day. My skin was VERY OILY and is less now but I think I'll keep with it 3 times a day for a while. No noticeable side-effects for me.I was hoping for more dramatic effects, but maybe over time the oil geysers on my face will dry up more. I hope so! I'm a 41 year old female and have had the greasies since I was around 13. I've paid my dues to the sebum Gods for sure!

To all the girls taking Vit A with their B5. BE CAREFUL!!!! Vit A in doses over a certain amount (it's a low amount) has been linked to BIRTH DEFECTS in women who become pregnant while taking. Even if you are not planning on becoming pregnant; "surprises" happen (especially in OKLA). We have a wonderful child with special needs in our family, but we don't know the cause (I am not implying that it had to do with vitamins - we just don't know). However, being informed of all the risks of ANYTHING you put in your body (even "natural" things is so important! Be CAREFUL and good luck!
