I started taking B5 (vitaminshoppe brand 500mg pills 300/count $18.95) Last Monday 2/27/06, 5 pills in the morning 5 pills in the evening and 2 B-complex 100 twice a day (also vitaminshoppe Around $12 bucks). I did that for 5 days, then yesterday I went and changed the B5 to 4 morning, 4 afternoon, 4 evening (stayed at 2 b-complex twice a day). Now here are the results, On Monday when I started I had 4 cysts on my chin, and about 3 zits on my cheek and one cysts on my nose. Today one week later (3/5/06) I have "NO" cysts and one small zit on the side of my nose, and thats it! Twice a day, I've been using a very mild soap, and then using a little jojoba oil (vitaminshoppe $7) on my face and then rinsing it off after with cool water. Lastly I've been putting on some BP 2.5 and that's it. Here are my stats 33/female/acne suffer for 15 years, I've tried EVERYTHING, I've spent over 30 grand on stuff that didn't work, this is the clearist I have been in 15 years. I hope this helps someone. Stay strong!

I found out that it works well. However I do not need these giant doses - only 50-100 mg per day. When I took more it had some side effects: my skin got too dry, I got rashes on some parts of my body, I got muscle atrophy because it made me loose weight,... I used Clear5. So I lovered the doses and it's OK now. I guess everybody has to find out how much is OK for him. Well, that together with a good multivitamin and more or less healthy food does the trick for me. Good luck!!

I've been suffering from acne now for the last 3 years and I'm 37 yrs. old. I am a beautiful african american female and the acne has really claimed my spirit. It's hard to discuss with family and friends and sometime I'm feel shame. I've tried everything possible:dermotologist, topicals, proactive, acnefree I mean mega bucks on OTC stuff and I'm really tired fighting this battle. I just ordered some Clear5 as my last result to starting on Accutane, which the side effects has scarred me from trying that. I want to try something a little more natural so please anyone who reads this wish me luck and many blessings with this trial. I'm already taking Womens one a day multivitamin so that's already in place to take along with the B5. I really really really hope this works for me.

I used this for over a year when my PMS acne started to come back and it kept my skin super clear. I slacked off and my skin stayed pretty clear for a year. However, when I got pregnant, my skin started breaking out from the hormone overload. I went back to 1g of B5 a day and now, a week later, my skin is clear, even-toned, and clear again. This stuff works fast and I don't have to use much! I get 250 caps from [link removed] and it's less than $9 there!

I have been using Vilantae for about 6 weeks now and it has been wonderful. I have suffered with acne for about 20 years and was on every anti-biotic known to man, including Accutane which worked wonders for about 5 years but I had severe side affects. I will take it for the duration of the initial 3 months and then cut back the dosage to see how it will continue to work. This has truely been a miracle in my life

I've used B5 for almost two months now and have had amazing results. At first I started with 5 grams and increased it to 10g, with no real results. At times it seemed like my skin was getting worse! I'm now at 15g and as clear as I have ever been. It's a pain to rememer to take pills every three hours, but is crucial for me because if I'm off even by an hour my skin pays for it the next few days. But now new pimples seem to go away a lot faster, and soon I can start to lower the dosage. Now I need to get rid of the scarring my acne has cause Good luck to all who try. Be patient and give it time.

this stuffs great.people need to realize that from start to finish, 1 pimple typically takes over a month to actually show up on the skin. If your acne has gotten worse from using any of these products, it's probably because it's exploiting all of the cysts and clogged pores, which you should be thankful for because its bringing everything to the surface FINALLY. Give it time, acne has a pattern/cycle that needs to be learned, just like the medication being used on it.

Hi. It works wonders. truly.
BP-pills f***ed up my hormone-balance and my perfect skin became not so perfect...It was really awful since I work as a model and cannot afford to have bad skin. I therefore started taking antibiotics, which made me clear (for about 3 months) and after that my skin became WORSE than before.
I changed my diet completely (now I only eat vegetables, soys-prducts and meet, nuts and oils)which helped.
But my skin still wasn't PERFECT...I read about B5 and decided to give it a try...I take only 15 mg/day since I'm against megadosing - plus I take zing before I go to bed and drink Ipe-Roxo tea every morning.
I looooove what it did to my skin. It's now perfect.

I took source of b5 from vilantae. I did not use straight b5 but wanted to make sure people read this before buying vilantae. I had extremely oily skin and read how vilantae "sets your oil glads on low". I took vilantae for 2 months and 1 week and saw absolutly no results. I took 24 a day as apposed to 20 because of the amount of oil my skin was producing. My acne was not affected at all either. I am now taking accutane and have been for 3 weeks. My acne is completely gone and my sebum production is much lower. In conclusion...Vilantae did not affect me at all...reconsider purchasing the expensive product.
