i love love love vitamin b5. i have been taking 10g of vitacure b5 for about 2 1/2 months now and could not be happier. for 5 years i have had moderate acne, and i've tried everything. i heard about b5 on this website and began researching it. honestly, i thought it was completely crazy, but decided to try it before my next derm appointment. i had a bad initial breakout for the first 5-6 weeks and was feeling lower than ever, but i stuck with it and by the end of the second month was 99% clear. give it time- i suggest at least 3 months. you won't be sorry!!!

b5 is truly of the gods. i have had oily skin and moderate acne for at least 6 years and have tried birth control, antibiotics, and all things non-prescription. none of those products cleared my skin.
vitamin b5 was brought to my attention on this site about 4 months ago. after researching it, i started on 8g a day and slowly ended up needing to up it to 15g to see any results. though it took a while my skin is no longer oily and my acne has cleared!

Okay well here's the scoop. While taking mass doses of vitamin B5 won't necessarily kill you, it is not entirely beneficial to take more than 1,000mg per day. Your body can only absorb a certain amount of the vitamin anyway, so in otherwords you're just wasting it.
You see, my problem is oily skin. I haven't had it all my life, but it started around the time I was 18-19. (I'm almost 22 now) Oily skin leads to acne, it's a no-brainer.
I just started taking 1,000mg of B5 per day, along with Zinc/Copper/Beta Carotine (which comes in one pill) and a B12 and B-Complex (solgar). I believe the B5 brand I'm using is Swiss something or other (got it at a natural food store). I've been on it for about a week, and along with the clear skin regime, I've already noticed a difference.
Key points, wash your face very gently, once in the morning, and once before you're about to go to bed. Right now I am also using BP (2.5%) which is helping to dry up some of the very moderate acne. Like the regime says, I apply it after washing, morning and night. Sometimes I forgo applying it in the morning on certain days, which I think is fine too. Also, I try not to use moisturizer, as I believe it just makes your skin oilier. One more thing, try to change your pillow cover at least once or twice every two weeks. (once a week is ideal)
Anyhow, I'm going to keep this up and I'll report back in about a months time. I'm still waiting for the BP and face wash to arrive which I ordered from that clear skin regime site.
PS. Even though I have mild to moderate acne (mild in most cases) I was so fed up with my skin that exactly a year ago I started Accutane, well three days later I was hospitalized for five days (this happened while I was on vacation in the states). Needless to say, I stopped taking it, and yeah my skin just got worse. ALA/Blu-light did nothing but make my skin red.
BP really is the only thing that works. And I believe that along side a steady dose (not exceeding 2,000mg a day) of B5 will lead to the demise of my acne and skin problems.
I'll report back in a month.
Good luck to all. And for those who are taking 20grams of B5 per day, save yourself the money and cut down your dose to 2grams per day.

I absolutely love B5. It's honestly the only thing that has ever worked for my skin. After taking B5 my skin is less oily, and I hardly ever get blemishes. I pop a couple of B5 pills every couple of hours. My skin is softer and more even. I recommend that anyone and everyone suffering from acne tries it. It's completely worth it.

This vitamin works better than anything I have ever tried- even Proactiv. You have to use it frequently, but if you stick to it, you will see amazing results in about 2 weeks. I used to have really bad acne until I started using the B5, and then my face cleared up dramatically. I am not totally pimple free, but it is so much better to have a few than a lot. My entire family is saying that it looks way better than before. I would recommend this to anyone with acne- no matter how severe it is.

I am just starting to try B5 for acne. I am looking forward to seeing how it effects me. I wanted to mention to the people out there who haven't had success with B5 that it might be helpful to supplement with essential oils in addition to B5. I have had positive results (fewer cystic acne spots and quicker healing) with taking Borage Oil and PERQUE Triple EFA Guard (DHA, EPA, CLA-omega 3:6 in a ratio of 4:1).

I started taking 5 grams of pantothenic acid that i got at Vitamin World along with a 1-A-DAY vitamins and olive leaf axtract and i havent had a pimple for a whole month!!! I usually get huge cysts on my chin and there were like 7 of them on my chin and above my lip and these vitamins stopped them from coming back and are healing them quickly. I still have red marks from them but they wll heal in time B5 rules

other thoughts: maybe b5 only works for those with oily skin. for others it must dry them out.
