Pros Improve energy and mood
no oily skin
reduce my acne about 90%
Cons 2 years with the pill no side effect. the gave make u thirsty, so u will be drinkin more water.
maybe too many pills?
or if u dont have money u will get acne again
Bottom line My english is poor i know. Anyway i want to let u know about this, I had acne for more than 10 years, acne ruined my teen ages. Iam 23 now. I had severe acne, and i still have severe acne if i dont take this vitamin. I tried so many things in my life to cure my acne but they never worked or were very expensive like the antibiotics. I tried this vitamin with very low hope, because i tried many vitamins and minerals before and they did not worked. Well, i started taking 1 gram for 3 days, then 2 grams, then 5 grams daily...5 days later i noticed my face with less less oil, 2 weeks later and most of my acne was gone, i am using sulfur soap too and my acne is 95% gone . One more thing. i stopped taking the vitamin for more than 1 month and then the acne came back. And guess wut, now i have to take 10 grams every day because 5 grams dont work anymore. So please, dont stop takin the pill cause for too long because then u will have to take moar pills to have the same effect.

Pros - Clears acne
- Less oily skin
Cons - Broken, dry, brittle, frizzy, untamed hair
- Lots of tablets to take
- Can work out expensive
Bottom line I started taking 1,000mg a day for a week, and then upped it to 2,000mg in week 2. I noticed a distinct improvement in my skin. My acne had decreased in a couple of weeks. I would still have approximately 1-2 active spots at any one time, but that was much easier to handle than the 10-20 spots I had any any one time beforehand.
However, I started to notice that my hair texture changed. It became completely unmanageable, I could not style it at all. Within minutes of styling it would become wild, and I'd have to tie it up. I also noticed lots of broken hair, where beforehand my hair was in great condition.
Therefore, I decided to stop taking B5. It has been 2 weeks and my acne has unfortunately increased again. I am going to try something else......The search begins again!

Pros So far makes my face less oily
Cons Non yet
Bottom line Ok so i have suffered from acne since i was 13yrs of age and now 26. My acne is not the worse in the world but it bothers me (especially when people make comments on it). Ive tryed many things for it, antibiotics, pro active, ect. I was searching in the internet about acne cures and B5 came up.. And ive read so many good reviews about it that i decided to try it.. This is my 6 day on it and by the 3rd day i notice that my oily skin have reduced about 75%.. Im still getting break outs but not anything out of the ordinary but ive read that it takes a few months to actually work so fingers crossed.. Im not mega dosing cuz im scared about the side effects. I started with 1 500mg from GMC and by day 5 i went up to 1g.. I take one with my lunch and a multivitamin and the other with my dinner with a b-complex.. So far so good. I will keep updating for new results..

Pros I have been using B5 for probably two years now. Aside from a certain birth control pill it is the only thing that has worked for me. (I have tried countless over the counter cleansing products and different birth control pills.) However, I still have to take the full 10g a day to be completely clear.

It does work really fast - my skin clears up within a week or two, and I do have moderate acne.

Haven't had any negative physical side affects at all.
Cons If I cut down to even 8g, I break out, although it's sort of manageable with make-up...

If I forget to take it for a few days altogether, my skin gets just really bad (as in large hurting pimples and do not want to leave the house kind of bad).

Doesn't fix the (unknown) cause of the problem.
Bottom line I am 36 years old and feel like I would have to take these for the rest of my life. To me it's not a long-term solution, but I also still don't have any better ideas.

Pros Miracle cure (for me). I've used many different products/prescriptions over the years, and nothing ever worked this well. I took 2 grams/day the first couple months, then 3 grams/day for the last 6-7 months (half in the morning, half at night). It completely cleared up my acne, which was mainly all over my back. I still have scars on my back, but the acne is gone, for the first time in 15 years. Very cheap.
Cons Need to remember to take pills twice a day, but this is not as big an issue as I though at first. For me it's 3 pills in the am, 3 in the pm.
Bottom line It worked for me. My acne, especially on my back, is completely clear. I was worried it wouldn't work at first (as nothing else ever has), and I was worried about the hair loss as some people have mentioned, but I didn't see any. This is after 7 months on 3 grams/day (and 2 months on 2 grams/day before that).

It's very cheap; check out the 3 pack on Amazon:

Pros My acne is vanishing. No new pimples or annoying little zits like I'm used to getting each day.
I feel happier, turns out that after doing a bit of research on this online I found that B5 is actually a natural antidepressant of sorts. :)
It also tackles fatigue, anxiety, and apparently slows down the aging process according to some random internet sites so I don't know how entirely true that is, but still it's nice to imagine ha..
Cons Nothing yet.. So far this is my miracle pill..
Bottom line I've only been taking this for a week or so and I've seen miraculous results. It is as if I am changing into the person I knew I could be all these years.. In part because my acne and the marks it has left are going away and the happiness that these pills instill in me by beating up the depression caused by my previous round of accutane.

I have only been taking 2G a day with 2 500mg pills in the morning and 2 500mg pills at night. Megadosing can lead to hairloss and arthritis and even more problems from what I've heard and seen so I've been trying to avoid large quantities and honestly 2G a day has been perfect. These pills even stimulate dream function so I've been having awesome dreams lately too haha.

I take them with a meal or at least a snack so it has food to be absorbed with. Seems to be working better that way I believe.

I'm hoping to lower my dose here soon but I am so nervous because I don't want my acne to come back even for a second.. This stuff is just amazing and I didn't have to megadose or anything. Just a few pills a day and they're making me a whole new person. I definitely recommend these! :)

Pros Reduces oil
Reduces breakouts
Reduce cystic pimples
Cons Not a miracle cure
Bottom line B5 has worked wonders for me. I found that 6grams daily (four 500mg tablets three times or 3 pills 4 times a day) is the right amount to control my acne. If I eat greasy/oily foods, I'll add another gram. And that's the beauty of this supplement. Once you find your ideal dosage, adjust for abnormal food intake. This isn't an excuse to have a bowl of fries, but if I do, I just increase the dosage the next two intakes.

It's not an overnight cure. Start with about 4-6 grams a day, and adjust until you feel the oil production is controlled. In my case, my lips started to feel really dry... Not scientific, but you'll have to judge your own body.

If it works, buy the generic B5 (pantothenic acid) online. I buy mine from puritan's pride and its fairly inexpensive for 3-6 bottles of 100 500mg tablets.

Good luck... Control your diet and don't go crazy with the dosage.

Pros reduced severity
makes my skin heal faster
overall better skin
Cons not the "miracle cure"
Bottom line I take 1 gram of this along with 400IU of Vitamin E. If you are trying this, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEEEEEASE don't megadose!! Sometimes people think it will only work if you take it in crazy amounts, and everything will be OK because you can just pee it out. NOT THE CASE. It's not good for your stomach and can cause toxicity that can give you PERMANENT hair loss and dry skin. Everything is good until taken in excess. Don't take any more than 1 gram per day. It will help your skin, but don't expect it to be the natural Accutane or anything. It helps but doesn't cure. Give it a try, though :)

Pros Somewhat reduced oil for a few weeks, and then it stopped working.
Cons -Initial outbreak in places I have never gotten pimples
-Terrible cystic acne all over my chin
-Messed up my hormones so much that my period started coming every 6-8 weeks
Bottom line I use this site a lot and have never felt compelled to write a review before, but I want to for B5 because while I think this obviously works wonderfully for many people, I think those with hormonal, cystic acne should be warned. My first month on this I had somewhat of an initial outbreak, but they were small pimples and I was fine with it. However, I did notice that my period came two weeks late, which has never happened to me before. In my second month, I broke out with 6-7 cystic pimples at a time (this has NEVER happened to me...I usually have 3-4 in a year) and my period once again came two weeks late. After three months, I quit because things were not getting better and I was three weeks late for my period and decided to start Accutane (b5 was my last resort before I started Accutane). I am 31 with hormonal acne (never had much acne as a teen or early 20's), so please do plenty of research if you are also in your late 20's/ early 30's and have similar symptoms.
