| Pros: | Haven't continued use but effects have lasted. Was on very small dose compared to some contributors here |
| Cons: | Easiest place to buy in UK is Holland & Barrett but is rather expensive |
| Bottom Line: | I took 1 gram tablet a day for 6 months. That was about a year ago now and my acne has not yet come back with any force. I am feeling somewhat oily again but probably due to heating indoors as winter starts - when I get pimples now thy aren't those deep canal under the skin cyst type monsters. TRY IT! It is far better than any topical or serious chemical drug I have ever used. |

| Pros: | - oily skin reduced thus acne slightly reduced |
| Cons: | - taking 5 pills 4 times a day
- relatively costly since it builds on top of the daily skincare regime. |
| Bottom Line: | - Paid $70 every 2 months that excluded P&H
If oily skin is the cause of your acne, this should work. I think it does what it says - which is reduce the oil production on the skin. Whether or not that reduces acne is dependent on the participant's skin. It reduced my acne occurrence but as mentioned, I dont think oily skin is the only attribution towards acne.
Try it if you have oily skin. Take this with a good cleanser/toner/moisturizer regime. This can be quite costly since it builds on top of your daily skincare. |

| Pros: | smaller pores, 95% clear within 7 days |
| Cons: | cost, amount of vitamins, some hair thinning, initial breakout |
| Bottom Line: | I've only been taking B5 at 10mg regularly for 2 weeks, so I don't expect a miracle yet. I have cystic and nodular acne and within 7 days I saw a 95% improvement of my skin. Literally, I only had one pimple. However in the last 3-4 days I am going through another breakout... notably less severe than I've had in the past. I suppose I'm starting my period soon and it will take time for the B5 to work.
I also take 50mg of zinc, 4 B complex vitamins, 2 garlic capsules, and 500mg niacinimide per day; and acidolphilus and biotin between meals. |

| Pros: | Works great. |
| Cons: | Minor cons for me |
| Bottom Line: | Hi Morning,
I personally don't find brand to matter, I used used various brands over the past 5 years. I do think powder works the best. I am actually trying time released as an experiment so I don't need to take powder, but I would recommend the powder if capsules or pill form doesn't work.
I have even quit using b-5 a few times in the last few years for only short periods of time, like a week or 2 and had bad breakouts, so I know the B5 works amazing for me.
Best of luck.. |

| Pros: | Works very well at clearing skin. |
| Cons: | Need to use the bathroom alot, but a small price to pay. |
| Bottom Line: | I am 32 years old and have had chronic acne since I was 14. I have taken Accutane a few times and a number of other medications, every one was a failure and nothing gave me any consistency. I actually tried B5 when I was 25, not knowing what it was for a month and found it useless. I took a capsule form of it. A few years later I read up on it again, not knowing that the thing I tried earlier called pantothenic acid was actually B5. I ordered it in powder form. I finished my last course of accutane when I was 27 and still had some acne and knew it would come back once I stopped accutane, so I started taking B5 powder for the past 5 years now. I have had no side effects and have lived a normal life since, unlike the torture I was put through the previous 15 years. Its the only thing that ever worked and worked well. If you have tried B5 capsules without success I recommend using the powder form. It tastes horrible but works great. Zinc cream is the best topical I would recommend as well |

| Pros: | - It does work, for a while
- Less oily, no more cysts |
| Cons: | - Bad side-effects
- Lots of hairloss even 4 months after I stopped
- Expensive |
| Bottom Line: | I've been on b5 for only 2 months on a medium dose (6 grams a day max) and 4 months after I stopped I still have hairloss and hairthinning, it's stopping now though, and may not completely be attributable to the b5 (had a lot of stress during that time).. The acne did stop while I was on it so in my case the desired effect was there, but it was definitely not worth the hairloss (oh yeah and dry eyes as well). I'm pretty sure the b5 played a large role in losing my hair, just search on the internet for hairloss b5 and you'll come across a lot of people that have exactly the same problem. Some say it's because of a Biotin deficiency, but I did take the recommended b-50 complex on the side while I was on b5, maybe it wasn't enough for me.
I always had a head full of thick hair, no baldness in the family (both sides) and my brother who is 4 years older than me still has the hair I had before the b5. Not that I'm going bald, I'm still blessed with lots of hair. |

| Pros: | So many, it cleared my acne in just a few weeks! Amazing, I had almost no spots at all for about 2 years. And I didn´t notice any side effects, no over drying of skin or anything! |
| Cons: | It seemed to stop working after a little more than 2 years, just like that I broke out the worse I´ve ever have :( |
| Bottom Line: | It truly does work, and no side effects! I wish it had continued working as good as it did for the first 2 years, I would never had gone of it if it had. |

| Pros: | - just started |
| Cons: | many pills! |
| Bottom Line: | I suffer from moderate acne. I was looking on the net to find some remedies.
I came across a few things. First of all, I found out that Salt water is really great for the skin. Also another thing was Vitamin A (dangerous in high doses) and vitamin B5 can help acne.
Currently I am doing this:
-Wash face with Cleanser in warm salt water (Let sea Salt disolve in hot water)
- moisturize face with Lightweight, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic product.
- Take 5g (10 500mg tablets) of B5 a day (might up it to 10g)
- Take 60,000 IU of Vitamin A a day
- Take 2 400IU of Vitamin E a day
I am not sure if I should be doing something different. I just started taking the vitamins yesterday night, so I dont know what the outcome is yet. I have been washing my face w the salt water twice a day for two days so far and it has really helped! skin is less red, and pimples are much smaller and there are less |
