| Pros | -Cheap -Balances skin pH level when used with Baking Soda |
|---|---|
| Cons | -Stinky |
| Bottom line | After washing my face with Baking Soda (mixed with Cetaphil), I use Apple Cider Vinegar as a topical toner. It works great! There are many recipes online for the toner, some adding extra ingredients just to alleviate the pungent smell. I would not recommend using ACV by itself - it can be pretty harsh. I use a mixture of 1/3 cup ACV, 1/3 cup green tea, and 1/3 cup water. I keep it in a leftover olive oil jar with a twist-on lid. I also keep it in the fridge. |

| Pros | It works and is inexpensive. |
|---|---|
| Cons | If you use it as a topical and work out later, you'll bring the vinegar smell back up. It stings if you have open wounds. |
| Bottom line | I started using this after I realized I was getting some perioral dermatitis along with acne. I've been using it for a week and my perioral dermatitis is almost completely gone and I have 1 pimple today. 1!!!!! I usually get multiple spots per day. I've tried accutane 2x, brevoxyl, aczone, clindamycin, benzaclin, differin, tazorac, sulfur wash... The organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar is what has helped the most. I still use tazorac at night. I use the vinegar diluted 50/50 as a toner after washing. I let it dry and then moisturize. |

| Pros | - It helps fade away scars - It helps decrease break outs |
|---|---|
| Cons | - It smells terrible - It tingles - My eyes are sensitive to it (I guess it depends the more you dilute it though, the less of a problem this is) |
| Bottom line | I have suffered from acne for years. (I am now 23 yrs) I drink 8-12 glasses of water a day and still I was getting break outs. I realized that I had a hormonal imbalance, so I am on tri-cylcen along with that I am using the apple cider. It significantly helped fade my scars and changed the texture of my skin (smoother now). It took about a month before I saw results. Be patient, educate yourself (ph balance, poor diet, not enough water, hormones, allerigic reactions, product reactions (i.e. costume earings that touch your face), lack of sleep, stress, products that are irritating the skin ect.) Good luck you guys, hope this helped a bit! |

| Pros | works great!! |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stings a little and will leave face slightly red for about 20mins...this is just the ph balance of the skin working |
| Bottom line | Use as a toner morning and night leave on all day/ night. I use ACV bragg's, what this does is kills all the baterial that causes ance through the Acid...eventually pimples cannot form due to having no baterial! |

| Pros | Clears up acne Hair care alternative Decreases body odor |
|---|---|
| Cons | Smells until it dries Stings a bit if it gets in open wounds or eyes Can create little blisters if not diluted for sensitive skin |
| Bottom line | Love it! After having severe cystic acne on my back and shoulders for over 3yrs I'm almost completely clear! It turns out that it was shampoo and conditioner that was the biggest cause (probably the sulfates and coconut in the products) Now I use baking soda to wash my hair every day and diluted apple cider vinegar as a rinse about 2-3 times a week. I saw results after about 2 weeks of using this. Apple cider vinegar works by making your skin too acidic for bacteria to live on. This helps stop body odor, acne and can prevent dandruff! On the days I use the rinse I use it @ night so I don't have to worry about going to work with my wet hair smelling like vinegar but if I notice a breakout I'll rinse my body with it more often and once I've toweled off there's no smell. Give it a shot and try it for about 2 or 3 weeks at least to see if it will help stop your acne! |

| Pros | Overall skin condition improved - less overall redness. Limits new breakouts when used as a toner. Appears to have reduced sebum production. Good overall health drink to cleanse from inside out. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Leaves nasty long lasting red marks when used as a topical spot treatment. |
| Bottom line | I use this as a toner with water and it has improved the overall look of my skin, and I drink a lot of it with water as well during the day (good appetite suppressant). When I first started using ACV I used waaaaaay to much of the straight stuff as spot treatment - bad idea! The acne got worse and even produced more pus as they were supposed to be healing ?!?! After about a month I still have red marks where the spots were, but at least they have healed (using aspirin as an alternative spot treatment). So stick with ACV as a light toner and drink, and use aspirin if you need treatment on specific areas. |

| Pros | -helps acne go away -can help acne marks fade faster -cheap |
|---|---|
| Cons | -smells nasty -will not prevent future acne from coming -dries out skin |
| Bottom line | After hearing such great reviews about ACV I finally started using it and in the first couple weeks it did work great on existing acne. Pimples would go away within a couple days which didn't happen as quickly as using BP cream. Also marks left from old acne started fading way. At first I thought this was a miracle and replaced using BP with this. It worked well until I noticed that it doesn't work well to prevent future acne. During my time of the month when I break out a lot, it was really bad, so right now I'm back to using BP. I think ACV is great if you have a pimple or mark you really want to remove because it works a lot faster than BP, but ACV doesn't help to prevent future acne. It also will dry out your skin :/ |
