| Pros: | Left my skin smoother and more even toned. Blemishes heal quickly, in 1 or 2 days as opposed to 1 or 2 weeks. Blackheads came flying out of my face during week 2. No blackheads at 6 weeks. |
| Cons: | At 6 weeks, I have just developed 3 large pimples- 1 on my cheek, 1 on my jaw and 1 between my eyebrows. I heard at 6 weeks you may break out more, but then it's meant to clear. Week 1 my skin was dry, at week 4 oily, now at week 6 dry again! |
| Bottom Line: | It works. My skin has been all over the place from dry to oily from clear to break outs in the six weeks I've been using it. Over all, my skin is so smooth, looks much less blotchy, I have zero blackheads, there is an all over rosy glow to my fair skin, and dark marks from old pimples are fading fast. I initially had mild acne in that I only had 1 or 2 pimples a month, but they were big ones. When I started to get deep cyst acne on my jaw, I saw my doctor. Since starting generic Tretinoin .1%, I have had just one pimple there. I have confidence my skin will look amazing with continued use. Finally! After years of skin issues, clear skin! Stick with it. If you skin gets irritated, use it every other day. |

| Pros: | None YET. But if my doctor dad and a lot of people oboard are to be believed, then I guess it should clear up the skin. |
| Cons: | I'm red all over. My skin (usually never sensitive) hurts to the touch now. My problem areas are RED and full of pimples. I'm anxious, depressed, and crying. |
| Bottom Line: | I'm not used to being "ugly"; just before the summer of my high school freshmen year, I had smooth skin. I started getting ovulatory periods then, and broke out quite a bit. I had mild/moderate acne (whiteheads and papules) related to my bitch period (breakouts during ovulation). I also scarred (not deep ones, just dark spots that usually fade after 4-6 months). Neotrogena Clear Pore was working (just not on the scars) but it couldn't stop the monthly breakout. So I started using tretinoin 0.05% last week and my skin is a mess. Areas around my mouth and nose are RED and PAINFUL. My previously problematic areas (cheeks) are flaring with new pimples. I just finished crying. I know this is the initial purging but I feel like I do not have the strength to deal with it if it is supposed to get even worse. My friend's sweet sixteen is in two weeks and I don't wanna look like a monster there. I'm not sure I can take a worse form of breakouts for THREE WHOLE MONTHS! |

| Pros: | did clear up my white heads |
| Cons: | initial breakout of 7 weeks was horrible |
| Bottom Line: | The initial breakout was terrible. left me with big red pimples which i never had previously. they all cleared up and now i have acne red marks and scaring thanks to retin a.
yes it does clear up your pimples, but its too heavy a price to pay. the scars are gonna stay for a long time. |

| Pros: | Started clearing up skin at around week 7 rapidly. It purges the acne that is underneath the skin and brings it to surface. Easy to apply regimen since I only use this at night and a mild facial cleanser. |
| Cons: | This made me breakout for around 6 weeks. The breakout weren't the average small pimple/week or so. It turned my moderate acne into severe acne during the purging stages, which can last up to 3 months. Also irritates, dries, and flakes skin. |
| Bottom Line: | I would recommend you this product only if you can last 3 months of continuous breakouts. This stuff is strong and made my skin unbearable for around 7 weeks. However, it does get the job done and clears up acne. The main thing that you should remember about this product is that if you begin it, you should stick with it despite you looking considerably worse for a couple of weeks. |

| Pros: | It works - bottom line. |
| Cons: | Using a pea sized amount causes too much irritation. |
| Bottom Line: | For those experiencing a lot of irritation using Retin-a please try this method.
Instead of placing a pea sized amount on your finger and dabbing on your face, DAB your finger over the opening of the tube instead. This way you end up with just enough ( thin film ) to place where you need it.
I found that putting a pea size amount on my finger always lead to using more than needed, and due to the cost I always felt obligated to "use it all". Give this method a try before giving up.
Using the aforementioned method has greatly reduced irritation, I barely have any at this point. It is the only way that I can continue using this product comfortably and I need to due to melasma and chin acne. |

| Pros: | This is my second report on tretinoin 0.01% gel. My acne, blackheads and whiteheads are improved but I plan to ask for a stronger strength at my next Dr. appointment. Brown spots are definitely lighter. |
| Cons: | Takes several months for skin to adjust, during which time there is sensitivity, flakiness, irritation and initially worsening of blemishes. This product takes patience but pays off eventually. |
| Bottom Line: | Certainly worth a six-month trial. I plan to use it from now on as long as it continues to be effective. |

| Pros: | retin-a micro 0.1% really works for me!!!! i'm in my mid-20's and had moderately-severe acne, but it's all under control now. i would recommend retin-a micro instead of regular retin-a bc the micro does not irritate bc of the microspheres! |
| Cons: | face got slightly worse for the first few weeks (but my face was already bad, so whatevs! you really couldn't tell THAT much difference), and after just 7 weeks, my skin looked soooo much better. |
| Bottom Line: | on their website, it says it takes 12 weeks to see improvement, but i started to see improvements about 7 weeks -- my face was bumpy all over w/whiteheads and nodules and horrible acne, but not anymore. I'm finishing my 12th week and my acne did subside... A LOT. i had moderately severe acne with literally really pretty facial features, and everyone would kinda look at me in a weird way bc of the acne. now that my acne is under control, i do have more confidence and i feel normal again. I'm so glad i finally found something that works.. i hope everyone who reads this have the best of luck with finding a product that'll work for their skin. |
