I've been using Retin-A Micro .04 for 3 weeks now, every night. It is severely drying out my skin in patches everywhere except for on my nose, even though I am using less than a pea-sized amount. I've also developed painful red boils under my skin from the medication. I've read that it gets worse before it gets better, so I hope that I'm nearing the end of the "worse" bit. I will try this for a few more weeks, and then post the verdict...

I have been using tretinoin for about 5 months with a product called Obagi (only sold by physicians) and it has made a world of difference. Combine this with microderabraision and peels under the supervision of an esthetician and you will have wonderful results. You need to be off of the tretinoin for at least a week before having dermi or peels. Your face will definitely get worse before it gets better. You also have to start gradually. You can't use everyday right at the beginning. Good Luck and stay with it.

I was placed on tretinoin about 1 year ago. I first started to notice acne last January, and went straight to the doctor. I was afraid to be placed on this, because I have very sensitive skin and my face turns bright red during the day even when I avoid the sun. Tretinoin not only dried up my face and cleared up the acne, but it dissolved almost all traces of it. It did make my face feel tight for the first few days, so I made sure to moisturize after I applied it and it was fine. I can't really give a rating for "affordability" as I get it for free with my health care, but I believe it was about 60 dollars. Worth the results and the compliments!!

I've been using Retin-A Micro for over a year now. At first my face got really bad and is was so sore and sensitive to the touch. But your face will get used to it. Takes about 2 to 3 weeks. And everytime I switch to a new tube, some of the symptoms come back again. I guess the medicine gets old. It takes along time to finish a tube being you only use a pea size amount. Overall, it definately has controlled my acne. I still get break outs but no where near as bad as they used to be. So, I guess I'm pretty satisfied.

I've been using this product for 4 months now and it cleared my acne. Try using this product with mild soap for washing your face and clarifying lotion for deep cleansing, before applying retin a. You'll see the big difference. Goodluck!

I have had acne since I was 9 years old. This stuff totally cleared my face. Since, acne is a disease it will never totally go away. It is unrealistic to think a medicane for acne is going to cure them. This stuff helps to keep my ance from getting out of control.

It simply did not work at all for me after 3 months. It made my face red and dry, so my doctor switched me to differin. I have been on that for 2 months and it does not bother my face at all, but it does not work either.
