This stuff is fantastic. I have been using Retin-A (tretinoin 0.5%) for about 6 weeks now. The initial breakout it caused was terrible and it lasted about a month, but since then my skin's just been getting better and better. My complexion is almost perfect now, and I have so much self confidence! You really must stick it out through the initial stages. Its hard, but SO worth it in the end! The best topical acne treatment available (very expensive however).

This is good for zapping the occassional spot, but to use a pea size amount every night on your face - it's a nightmare!
It will make your skin break out worse, unless you have the patience to stick with it for months and don't mind living with a red face and peeling skin for 6-8 months. After that, your face will be perfect, as long as you keep using the drug.
As far as I know, every acne sufferer uses this in the hopes that it will get better, but seriously, the depression of a worse breakout initially, is probably not worth it! Unless you are using this in conjunction with a systemic antibiotic, forget it. Unless you plan on using it as a once-a-week pimple cream on a few spots!

I started Vitamin A about 3 or 4 months ago & it did NOT do me well & I'm off of it now. (I never had acne & vitamin a gave me acne!!) The first couple of weeks, I broke out like I've never broken out before && the acne did not go away. It looked like I had a horrible infection. I DO NOT reccommend vitamin a to anyone. Go onto anything BUT vitamin a.

I used the micro for breakouts and it seems to work almost immediately. I know I will have a peel in 3 days, but after the peel my skin looks wonderful. Someimtes I plan a peel for mid-week so I can have a glowing complexion for the next weekend's big event.

When I first started using it, it was harsh - but I use it only one or two days in a row, and then back off.

It is rough, but after you get over the roughness, the results are truly amazing.

Hi everyone - I just started using this cream three weeks ago. I'm going through the hell stage. Major dryness, itching, peeling and real embarassment in public. The visual redness and drying seem to get worse when you cover with makeup. And yes it hurts. I called dermatologist and they suggested trying using every other night instead of every night. We'll see if I can adjust but beware this cream is extremely strong and if you have sensitive skin like me, it can really tear your face up if you use too much too frequently. Also, beware of mixing with salicytic acid. I was using a blemish wand with salicytic acid in it and it was not a good mix. Made me want to peel my whole "face off" just like in the movie with Nicholas Cage and John Travolta.

I've been using retin-a .1% at night for about 6 years now in combination with benzamycin (benzoyl peroxide/erythramicyn paste) with a sunscreen during the day. I had mild acne. It's worked wonders for me. I don't have sensitive skin and my skin is very oily and perhaps that "saved" me from the initial period. I never had redness, dryness or burning. Though after a period of using it I got cocky and tried to used other products as well. Some of them contained salycilic acid and that's the only time I had irritation. Now I stick to washing my face with cetaphyl (or the drug store equivalent) and a once a week facial scrub (applied gently). I also have great medical benifits which allow me to afford the stuff. It ain't cheap.

I'm 33 years old, and broke out after having a baby 18 months ago. Before having a baby, I would get a pimple every once in a while before my period - after baby - forget it. pimples all the time - I think it was hormone related being that I was breastfeeding as well. Finally went to Derm, and got rx for Retin-A cream .05 & Minocin 100 2xday. I had tried this type combo when I was a teenager and thought, yeah I remember the flaking skin, etc... However, I did not have those side effects, and 2 months into it, my skin has not looked better! I think I tolerate the cream better than the micro.

I have used the tretinoin cream .025% for more than 5 years. I consider this to be one of the best anti-aging and anti-acne medications today. I recommend it to anyone who is concerned about acne, fine lines and wrinkles.

I used Retin-A Micro for about a year total. At first I used the .025% cream and it helped with some of my breakouts, but I couldn't go tanning or in the sun (which helps my breakouts a lot too) so I bumped up to the 0.1% Rx and that was horrible, my skin still broke out and it was peeling and papery and red the majority of the time. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has mildly sensitive skin.

I've been using retin-a micro for about 9 weeks now in combination with brevoxyl(am - wash with brevoxyl; pm- wash with a mild face soap and apply retin-a micro). It's working great! My skin is clear and my skin tone is evening out. The only problem I have is that my skin itches constantly. Not sure if it's the retin-a or the brevoxyl. Hopefully this will subside soon because the results are fantastic!
