I have tried many products, over the counter & prescription, but this is the only thing that worked for me. This is an excellent acne treatment. I highly recommend it. Yes, there are side affects, like peeling, but thats part of it. I used the .10%, but you can use a milder concentration. It treates even the sever kind of acne, and reduce oil. So skin is clear and dry. It's expensive, but worth it!!!

About a month and a half ago, my doctor prescribed me retin-a and topical eurothromycin/benzoyl peroxide, due to some occasional breakouts, but mostly because I have overly oily skin. I am currently still having some peeling, drying and irritation. I have noticed that my skin is definately not as oily as it was before, and my pimples are at a minimum amount. I am still awaiting some more improvements, but I am very glad that it seems to be controling the oil, as my doctor said it would.

well i am on retin-a right now i think it does allright i dont have any more big ass break outs what i think is that it breaks out all of your skin and begins the healing process i dident even get the burning sensation or all the redness but they do have me on minocycline to so i dont no if that would have any effect but i would reccomend this product to any one with acne mild to moderate

I used retin A .025% for almost a year and it made my face break out horribly at first, thinned my skin, made my skin red and irritated, and only mildly controlled my acne. While on the product my blemishes actually changed form. They went from blackhead and mild pimples that were treatable without any scarring to hard, tiny cyst that were buried under the skin and very hard to treat and almost always left a tiny indent once gone. I would say this product is good for those that dont have active acne and are looking for a product that will help with sun damage and aging of the skin.

I am from the South, and I rarely broke out, all through high school and college. Then, about 4 months after I moved to New York, I started breaking out with horrible cystic acne all over my cheeks, jawline, chin, and hairline. I tried every possible over the counter product (Neutrogena, Murad, etc.) but nothing worked, although Neutrogena came closest. Finally I was able to see a dermatologist who put me on Retin-A. I have incredibly sensitive skin, so I started off using it every other night, with plenty of plain, oil-free moisturizer. After a week, my face completely quit peeling. My acne has visibly improved after 2 weeks, and the old spots are starting to fade. I will definitely stick with this, even if I start to break out worse, as some people have mentioned. It's just going to take time. Also, it helps if you use a cleanser like Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, as it is unmedicated and actually helps moisturize your skin. I can't figure out if my soft skin is a result of the Retin-A or the Cetaphil, but I'm not planning to quit using either anytime soon!

I think that Retin-a didn't work well for me, it took a long time for results and dried my face out so badly. it sometimes also reacted weird with face lotions i put on which were necessary due to how dry my face got from this stuff. i don't really recommend it.
