I used Retin-A for quite a few years when i was in my 40's as a skin refining cream, to shrink pores and get rid of fine lines and sun freckles. In the beginning it was irritating, causing redness and peeling (which by the way means it is working!!). I made sure to put a moisture cream around my eyes before applying the Retin A. I used .10 concentration. I would leave it on for at least an hour or more and then would apply a light moisturizer, like an organic Aubrey moisturizer, not an oily one. sometimes I would mix a little vitamin e oil in with the moisturizer. I had amazing results. It not only made my skin clearer and smoother, but it did get rid of fine lines. I stopped using it, why I don't recall, but recently started to use it again. I am now 59. I have been using Creme de la mer for a few years as a moisturizer and love it. However I noticed my skin looked rough, big pores, brown spots etc. I just started using Retin A again, following up with Creme de la Mer about an hour or two after and the results are spectacular. I can't believe how well it is working in only a couple of weeks. You have to bear with the initial skin peeling and deal with the drying by applying a a creamy hypo-allergenic moisturizer an hour or two afterwards. The results are truly remarkable. I was doing micro-dermabrasion for a while but Retina is more effective and less expensive, especially if you get it from a Canadian website. It's much cheaper in Canada. I love it. Give it a chance to work, and remember, moisturize a couple of hours later. good luck.
