Pros:Cheap
Cons:Worsened acne, peeling, sun sensitivity, itchy.
Bottom Line:I went to the doctor in July because I had about five pimples. Now I have over thirty. I waited 9 weeks for it to work and it never did. My face is much worse now. I now have to do damage control.

Pros:smooth skin, scars are slowly fading, 70% clearer at 2 months=way less breakouts
Cons:Initial breakout was horrible, but I knew the gunk had to come out anyways. It took about a month to nicely go away and I had 2 cysts on both sides of my chin come up twice and then finally clear. (SUCKED!!) IB leaves bad scars!
Bottom Line:brings pimple to head faster and heals faster, after the IB - I wanted to stop because my face looked so bad (broke out more than I ever have in my life) my first week of college but I stuck with it anyways after reading about it. I am glad I did because now my face looks SO much better and with some makeup (to cover up scars) I have very mild acne compared to moderate almost severe(?)
TRY IT.. (if you are in school- during summer/winter break)
oh yeah clears blackheads too, wait 20 min after washing face to apply at night
skin is a lot more sensitive though so don't try to squeeze blackheads, it will make those red marks that you can't cover up

Pros:made my skin feel smooth and in the areas of no breakouts skin looks great
Cons:flaking, redness
Bottom Line:I have been using this product a little over a month and of course there is flaking and redness while the cells are turning over to renew better looking skin. The Dr. told me my skin would get really bad before it got really good, so I'm still in the stage of that right now. I have a lot of breakouts, but I think its just from all the junk coming up from my pores. The Dr. said about 6 weeks and skin would start to look better, although I've read articles that say up to 9 or 12 weeks and sometimes even 6 months. I guess I just have to be patient.

Pros:Definitely helps clear skin. New acne turns over quickly.
Cons:Does not clear 100%. Sun sensitivity. Takes a long time to work (honestly at least 6 months maybe longer for full results)
Bottom Line:You have to be extremely patient to use this medication. Initial breakout is awful. I have used this medication for 3 years with a few months off in between (stupid) I had to go through the IB twice!

Pros:Helps fade dark spots
Cons:Even on very oily skin such as mine I still experienced extreme dryness and peeling. I also developed acne in places i had never had it before (chin and around nose).
Bottom Line:The dark spots i had on my skin prior to using this product have been clearing up. But now I have new ones due to the new breakouts (and me picking) and I am very self-conscious. Hopefully these will clear with time. Moisturizer with suncreen is a must throughout the day unless you enjoy walking around looking like a scaly mess.

Pros:I can tell that some scars are fading and the redness is much less severe.
Cons:It's hard to be patient... i've been using it for almost 4 weeks.
Bottom Line:The jury is still out. From what i've heard it takes several months for the medication to work. I feel like it is slowly improving. I am going to stick with it because i am experiencing all the symptoms everyone talks about. In the first few weeks your skin seems to get worse... hopefully i will experience the benefits after a few more weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Pros:This medicine helps to improve breakouts, blackheads, whiteheads, and cystic acne. Clearing of the face happens nearly immediately and is truly noticeable in those with more severe acne.
Cons:EXTREMELY DRYING, skin peeling, bleaching of pillowcase
Bottom Line:I have had moderate acne since I was 11, and am now 20. I took Clindamycin from the time I was 11 until 14 and that worked pretty well. Throughout high school, my face stayed clear without treatment, but about 2 years ago when I entered college, my acne began to get worse again on my cheeks and chin. I was put on Tretinoin about 2 months ago, and overall it has been working very well so far, but the dryness is starting to become a big problem as the weather gets colder and the air dryer.

Pros:Clears skin pretty well.
Cons:Bad breakouts in the beginning. Makes skin extremely dry! Acne may come back.
Bottom Line:I've had acne since i was 11 years old, severe acne, so i finally go to the doctor when i was 16 years old. Patiently, every single day I used Retin-A Micro Pump in .01% ... I didn't have any bad initial break outs... but it took a WHILE! So you really HAVE to be patient with it! Well my skin CLEARED UP! and i was happy! i felt good without make up etc etc etc...i'm almost going to be 18 now... ... and i have naturally EXTREMELY oily skin, well now it is EXTREMELY DRY... REALLY REALLY dry... and well... i'm on Retin A again, cuz i'm breaking out AGAIN. i hope it works!
