Pros -Cheap
-Always available
-Feels lovely on skin
Cons -Drying at first
-Hard to wash when dried
-A little unorthodox
Bottom line Works really nicely, but it is better to use it as a quick wash, rather than a spot treatment. I mix a bit with water and create a lather, then put it on my face, leave for 30 seconds and then wash it off. It lowered the redness, and it felt refreshing.

Since using it, i have noticed a decrease in the severity of my breakouts, and I find it's a great stopper when you feel the urge to pop.

Pros none, for me
Cons dried out my skin made my pimples worse... made one of my sore pimples into a huge scab.
Bottom line i used crest and it hurt but i thought that was just side affects so i ignored it but the next morning when i took it off my acne was red and scabby. my face was irratated even though i only used it as a spot treatment. i did that three days ago and its not gotten better! it could be my fault but just warning you it can irritate your skin badly if not carefull,

Pros - Easily found around the house or at any other people's house for that matter.
- Cheap and easy to find (drug store, convenient shops, supermarkets, etc)
Cons - Not recommended for people with sensitive skin.
- Too harsh on acne wounds and can be a very painful experience.
- Dries out skin very easily and can worsen inflammation.
Bottom line It was my mum who first mentioned to me that toothpaste can combat acne. Personally, I have found that toothpaste is not a reliable acne remedy for my skin condition. I have sensitive, oily and acne-proned skin and results have varied from slightly effective (rarely) to detrimental to super-bad-idea. It dried my skin out and left the inflamed acne even redder than before. It also stung so bad when I applied to acne wounds. That was the last of the toothpaste remedy for me.

Pros Currently still clearing my acne! Works like a charm
Cons Aggravating knowing that you will have to hot rinse it off later;
Getting your pillow stained blue
Bottom line I have had TERRIBLE acne since i was 13. I will be turning 20 in June of this year. I just started putting Crest (blue paste, not the gel!) Plus Scope Cool Peppermint for about three months now and my acne has been get WAY better, drastically. Bottom line is, I havent seen my face like since since i was 12, and im 19 boout to be 20. Thats a damn shame! Anyway the point is, THIS product, and this alone is curing my scne. I might as well say cured cured there has been a 87% improvent in my face within the past 3 months! Im so happy I started using it! Listen, acne only exsit because of the extra oil that builds up in out glands/hair follicles. Toothpaste is obviously a drying agent, so, its makes common sense that if you put it on your face everyday and everynight, then it will dty and kill all of that oil and bacteria! Thank the Lord for toothpaste!

Pros It works it you use the right type of toothpaste
Cons It burns your skin badly if you use the wrong type! Believe me, I know from experience!
Bottom line Make sure you use your basic, white toothpaste. Gel (the clear blue stuff) is what will burn you very badly. I leave it on all night and it works like a charm. I did use the gel one time and it totally burnt my skin all the way through -- it was completely white at the center and all red and burned around the edges (pretty bad burn!).

Pros Cheap , easily available from any supermarket/wal mart etc
Makes big spots go FAST!
Cons However, it drys skin out big time, can also leave a big un-sightly purple/brownish mark on your face, which can take a good couple of weeks to fade- or maybe even more =\
Bottom line Get it if you want your spot to go quick - but then be prepared to suffer the dark un-sightly mark on your face! =\

Pros Cheap.
Cons I did not notice a difference in my acne. In fact it seemed to make my zits more red.
Bottom line I have sensitive skin and so that might be why using toothpaste on my zits didn't help me.

Pros I definately helps in redicing acne
Bottom line I definately helps but you should use it before bed and after a face scrub so you face is clean and free of icky oils. Before bed put a towel on your pillow, they are easier to wash than sheets, sleep. When you wake up in the morning take a damp warm rag and let it rest of your face it makes the toothpase easier to get off and its relaxing then slowly and gently wipe off the toothpaste DO NOT SCRUB AT YOUR FACE. My family has done this with close-up toothpaste for years but only do it one once a week and increase according to your skin.
