Toothpaste being used as an acne cure is one of the biggest lies in all cures- while toothpaste in it's purest form may or may not be effectual, the chemicals in modern toothpaste are counter-productive.

A few hours of having this on my cheeks left a scar/burn like texture on my skin which has not disappeared an entire year later (or even shows signs of healing). Ultimately, another failed product.

Since this is the most destructive cure I have ever tried, people should be warned not to cross a line like this. Do this at your own risk- and even then, make sure it is the pure, unflavoured type.

Ive been using colgate toothpaste for almost a month now, and yes overnight , and I usually sleep for 6-8 hours.

After a few days of using it, I saw a mild improvement--reduced the redness and the size of my new pimples. However, I started peeling it off while it was dry, and I believe that was the cause of the scars/red spots, as a replacement of my pimples,

DONT peel it off, trust me. Let it dry and mildly wash it off with noncomogenic soaps. I use Ivory since it doesnt have any chemicals.

Although it does get rid of new grown pimples, it doesnt get rid of scars, thus, try to use Tea Tree Oil.

THE BEST WAY TO GET RID OF ACNE FAST, IS TO SLEEP EARLY, AND AVOID PICKING THEM.

Im a 15 year old teenager, and I usually sleep at 12-1am . From 10pm our faces start to produce more oil as usual.

Pros

  • reduced swelling of new pimples
  • dries up pimples so that they can easily fall off
  • cheap

Cons

  • left scars
  • stings
  • can be a bit messy
  • moderate
  • for about a month
  • $ 5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

This stuff works for pimples! It reduces the redness alot. Alot of people say to do it overnight, but really, it dries within 40 minutes. What I do, is keep reapplying (maybe 3 times) and then it's barely noticable.

Pros

  • Easy to find
  • Works well
  • Quick fix

Cons

[not submitted]
  • moderate
  • for a day or two
  • $ 3.5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

For all of you skeptics out there (like me) I've heard really bad reviews about toothpaste on zits causing MAJOR inflammation and just overall stinging. I had four little mountains pop up on my forehead overnight and today after school I decided to do a little experimenting. First of all you only need a THIN layer of WHITE toothpaste, not gel! Seriously, within an hour they deflated and now are really not noticeable! I think the redness may have gone down too. I don't think this would be best for everyday use, but its totally fine as a quick fix, just be sure you moisturize! :)

Pros

  • Cheap
  • Quick
  • Smells good
  • Reduces redness slightly

Cons

  • None that I experienced
  • Possibly dries out skin over time
  • moderately severe
  • $ 2
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Okay so I was never told to leave it all night and so I got some pink burns in replacement of my pimples. I'm still trying to figure out what treatments I could cure the burns with but other than that I don't think I want to try toothpaste again when I go to sleep haha. Just 20-40mins with it should be better

Pros

  • Gets rid of pimples faster than some other treatments
  • Just generally get rid of pimples

Cons

  • You a nice pink burn in replace of the pimple
  • moderate
  • for a day or two
  • $ 2
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

Toothpaste is a little zit-zapping fiend! I absolutley love using toothpaste. Whenever I see a big pimple swelling up, I just put on a dab of toothpaste and ta-da! Swelling goes doooooown.

DEFINITLEY recommend it if your looking for a fast, effective and cheap way to reduce your pimples.

Pros

  • You already have it
  • Its cheap!
  • Makes swelling go down within an hour
  • Reduces pimple size within 2-3 days
  • Can be used overnight
  • Reduces redness...fast!

Cons

  • Makes eyes water
  • Tingling sensation can be uncomfortable if you apply alot
  • Can dry out your skin
  • light
  • $ 5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I do not recommend it. I use to do it, but common sense told me to stop, because the results were really small, and I noticed that sometimes the pimples go away slower after using tooth paste.

Now I just use normal honey for pimples and acne. Which seems to help a LOT better and quicker.

Pros

  • Seemingly dries up the pimple a bit.

Cons

  • Makes your skin dry and shiny;
  • The spots where the paste use to be on skin look "glossy" and not very natural.
  • very light
  • inconsistently
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.
