Pros: none Cons: making my acne worse Bottom Line: i d=have been taking this treatment for 2 weeks and it just seems to be making it worse and so i dont know if its ment to do this befor it can get any better but will carry it on for the next 2 weeks . Pros: Gets rid of acne completely Cons: You have to keep using it, once you stop they come back. I have been on them for years. Everytime I think I should stop using them I break out all over again!!! Bottom Line: It works great, it is a cheap product, but it doesnt feel safe to keep using antibiotics for years. After trying to stop and breaking out again I think that sometimes I will be using this for the rest of my life. Pros: Works for awhile then your bacteria become resistant to it. Cons: Only a short term solution then your acne comes back stronger and more resistant then before. Bottom Line: I took Tertracyclin when I was a teenager for years. My Doctor swore that it was perfectly safe to take a antibitotic for a long period of time. I know struggle with systematic yeast infections in my 30's. I am now a esthetician and I swear by taking B5 therapy for reducing the oils in your skin which also helps with acne. Its amazing. Its also important to exfoilate your skin at least once a month with a glycolic peel. This has really helped my skin when nothing else has. Pros: I took the pills for about three months, along with tretinoin cream. I was surprised by how quickly my acne improved. I was very impressed. I experienced no side effects. Cons: I stopped taking the pills for about two months and decided to start taking them again. I found that my acne had worsened. My cheeks are red and they feel/look almost like I have a rash. I'm not sure what to do. I'm frustrated. Bottom Line: It's hard to say whether or not I would recommend this product. As I mentioned before, I saw great results. I'm just disappointed that I am no longer seeing the same results. I read the other comments on here, and I had no idea that if you stop taking the pills and then start taking them again, that it can make acne worse. Pros: it cleared my skin at first rather well Cons: later..after i was taking it for over a year, it entirely quite working and my acne got very very very bad. way way way worse than when i started a year earlier. this happened to be right when i started college.. really made it easy meeting ppl Bottom Line: it will get worse after a while Recommended: No Usage: Reviewer has used this item for about a year. Cons: I personally didn't notice any myself but some might be - 1. some tummy upsets + sicky feelings 2. dry, itchy skin Bottom Line: you have to keep going with it, it won't make much difference untill the last couple of months, but when it does, its amazing! truly LOVE it some people who had acne seriously might find it comes back very lightly after the course of pills, but all you have to do is ask the doctor about going on it for another few months it says on the NHS website "course lasts at least six months" Recommended: Yes Usage: pippa has used this item for a few months. Pros: skin cleared up really well :) i found it easy fitting in to my eating habits Cons: did not clear up scars but there are other creams great for that!! a breakout will occur now and then but never as bad as before. Bottom Line: i got this medicine prescribed free from my doctors after i went to see him reeguarding my light acne which was bringing my self esteem down rather low :( i have now been on the medicine for about 6 months now and do see a great improvement, i still get the odd breakouts but they clear within days!! I didnt suffer from any side effects apart from throughout the course i would have the odd nausea feeling of sickness, to stop this from happening drink a glass of water after you take the tablets. Pros: Works really well until you stop taking it. Cons: I've been off it for about 2 months and now my acne is worse than when I started. Bottom Line: This works great until you stop taking it. I took it for about 6 months and my perscription ended about 2 months ago. I now have worse acne than when I started and just when I think my face is clearing up I break out again. I go to see my doc next week to get on Accutane which I should have just taken the advice and started right away. Recommended: No Usage: Reviewer has used this item for a few months. Pros: I noticed a significant improvement after a couple of weeks or so. It didn't completely clear my acne, but it definitely got rid of most if not all of the big zits (cystic acne). Cons: Getting used to being hungry and having to pay extra attention on when you take the antibiotic. Bottom Line: Tetracycline won't completely eliminate your acne, but I had moderate acne and this definitely turned it down a couple of notches. I have a habit of touching my face as well so I'm sure if you do not touch your face, drink as much water as you can, and take this antibiotic you should have a clear face, perhaps getting very small pimples everyone once in a while.
