| Pros: | After first use I showed immediate results. After persistent use, I rarely have flare ups. |
| Cons: | When I stopped using it for a few days, I had an bad break out, however, a few days of tetracycline cleared it up. |
| Bottom Line: | It's a pretty good medication for keeping acne at bay. However, I would use it in conjunction with the Regime to ensure full acne prevention. |

| Pros: | It does clear it up eventually and helps your back and chest too, because those spots are harder to get with just a topical. |
| Cons: | It is hard to take 2 hours away from any dairy. MUST use spf when in the sun. If you miss a couple days, you may experience large painful zits, that take a few days to go away. |

| Pros: | None so far, though I've only been using it for less than two weeks. |
| Cons: | It is expensive. No dairy products, and sun exposure..I love tanning? AND IT IS SUMMER! Also adding that I have rashes on two of my fingers and a bit of irritation on my forehead. Eh. |

| Pros: | Took this years ago. It did wonders for my skin and imrpoved not only its visul appearance but the texture as well. For once in my life make-up was optional! |
| Cons: | Although it got rid of most of my acne, my pimples transformed into hard, painful bumps that wouldn't recede for days. Also, although I was never one for the sun, I did unfortunately experience some mad fainting spells while taking this antiboitic. |
| Bottom Line: | I guess it depends on the person but... I *really* wouldn't reccomend this for anyone to take, especially if they are anywhere sunny. Both my friend and I have experienced extreme fatigue in the sun while on this medication. As for making my acne worse... yeah, yeah I can see that. Or it might have to do with age. Who knows, just try something else. |

| Pros: | Cleared up my cystic acne in 2 weeks, all my acne is almost gone and I've tried everything. |
| Cons: | Nausea, hard to fit around my eating schedule, can't lie down 30 minutes after or eat dairy 2-3 hours around it. |
| Bottom Line: | After using birth control, proactive, neutrogena, clearasil, purpose, cetaphil, vichy, oil of olay, zapzit, etc. I went to the dermatologist and have been on this, differin gel, and dove soap and my acne is almost gone, I am 27 and had it really bad on my cheek areas. Finally I have clear skin. |

| Pros: | Completely cleared all of my cystic acne. I experienced no side effects. |
| Cons: | As stated when you go off of it the acne returns. Antibiotics should not be taken for long periods of time because our bodies can become resistant to it. I take it on and off again for 3-6 month periods. |
| Bottom Line: | The only medication that has worked for my acne. Affordable and has done wonders for my self esteem! I have PCOS so my acne is caused by imbalanced hormones, birth control pills made it worse and topical creams were useless. It's great to wake up in the morning and not have to worry about weather I broke out overnight! |

| Pros: | does work on the short term, does not eliminate acne completely but does reduce larger pimples. |

| Bottom Line: | there is only three treatments for acne, anitiboitics, diane 35 and roaccutane. so what options are there?? I have been on tetracycline for 6 months now it only started to work about a month ago. I know from taking antibiotics previousely my acne became resistant to it and it came back worse, i then went onto diane at 17 and it cleared my skin really well until now the age of 25 it returned but its more a mild case this time, still i feel im way to old to have this crap... so im taking them again and they have helped just really scared of what the future holds. im terrified of roaccutane and hoping that it doesn't come down to that.
so my advice is take the stuff at least it grants you happiness for some time |
