Pros Worked wonders the first 4 weeks of use
Cons Acne got really bad while i was on the them, and later I broke out into hives, and ever since have developed cystic acne.
Bottom line Tetracycline was probably the worst thing I ever did to myself. It has honestly ruined my life. I had two small pimples when I first started taking them, and now it is a complete 180 degree turn. It worked really well the first four weeks, and later I started breaking out on my forehead and nose - two places I have never broken out! I later broke out into hives, and ever since I have been breaking out nonstop!! The past three months have been horrific. My entire face is covered with blemishes, and now I get large, painful pimples that don't respond to anything. I have not seen my face in this condition since I was a teenager. My face is really dry as well. Please be cautious when taking this medication and think it through if you really want it. I wish I never made that trip to the dermatologist. My life has turned upside down. Do not take it, please!!

Pros I have only been on these just over a week havent really noticed much diffrence but im sure soon they will take affect.
Cons I broke one of the Capsules, im on one a day and I was out on a trip and only had one with me so i had to swallow the powder inside the capsule, its was really really disgusting and i felt kinda sick after it but it went away they just taste so awful
Bottom line I think if i continue to take them hopefully they'll cleart up my acne, I have a few spots on my face, i usually get then on my cheeks forehead or around the mouth i also sometime get some on my back but only like one or two although sometime they can be painful. I've only every tried creams and fash washes you can buy instores perscription free, so it the first time i've been perscripted something for it.

Pros It work very well for about 8 months. My doc told me to try to stop taking them (probably b/c of the immunity everyone has mentioned). So i was on them for 2 months and my skin was great all summer until now. Just refilled
Cons Meh...didn't really think i had any side effects. The whole immunity and acne coming back was a bummer.
Bottom line Ask your doc for a "patient savings card" and your prescription will be no more than $25. Worked really well for me while it lasted. Hopefully i can achieve the same results.

Pros I didn't take it for very long, only two weeks
Cons My doc said that there were no side effects.
THEN, I had sex.
It hurt so bad, I was freaked out. The next morning i made an appointment with the doctor. So, apparently this medicine causes yeast infections. : ( Yuck.
Bottom line Just letting everyone know, because i had NO idea.

Pros I'm on my second and trying with every ounce in my body not to break down and cry. Upon starting this medication I had acne along my chin and lower cheeks.. maybe half a dozen pimples. 1.5 weeks later and I have so many I can't count.
Cons It's a full flown acne rash. I've never had acne so sensitive in my life! It's bright red, hits to touch and just digusting!
Bottom line I'll keep fighting for the next two weeks... but I's seriously hoping for miracle from this stuff...

Pros -Very Affordable
-Very minimal side affects
-
Cons -Meals have to revolve around the medication (Your Pharmacist will explain)
Bottom line I thought at the age of 24 my acne and breakouts would disappear but I was wrong. In fact it got worse. I finally decided to go to my family doctor. He examined my face and determined that tetracycline would probably be the ideal choice. I was perscribed 3 cycles. I can honestly say that this medication works. Tetracycline definitely got rid of the acne and pimples on my face. However, the results are not instantaneous. I noticed results after 1.5 months. I did not experience any side affects but I found the 2 hour eating rule and inconvenience. After my last cycle of Tetracycline I only had minor acne on my forehead. The breakouts had completely subsided and my skin looked much cleaner. I wish I had gone to see my family doctor earlier.

Pros -clears up cystic acne
-acts fairly fast (compared to other medications)
-affordable (covered by health insurance usually)
Cons -pretty much dictates your life; have to take it an hour before eating, hours after eating, an hour before you lie down, no freedom really
-may take a month or so to see actual results...BE PATIENT
Bottom line For cystic and moderate acne, this works wonders. It takes a lot of discipline to follow the regimen and instructions, but its definitely worth it in the end. Make sure you use with other topical face creams - I used it with Stievamycin cream for morning and then clindoxyl at night. The combo worked amazingly and now a year later I can say that all my acne is gone..there's still a few red spots from scarring but its nothing that make up cant cover up and it will go away eventually! I get a few pimples here and there but thats NOTHING compared to like 2 or 3 i used to get every day before!
Also, make sure you take tetracycline in moderation, and not for too long or you will become dependant on it. I only took it for 6 months, first 3 months was 4 pills a day, then after went down to 2 a day then nothing.
I don't regret using this at all - it doesnt hurt to try new medicines to get rid of acne!!
Definitely try this!!!

Pros Acne calmed down a little bit while taking them.
Cons As soon as I stopped acne became worse than before I was on them!
Bottom line I would suggest not to go on these tablets as you gradually become immune to them anyway and you break out even more when you come off!
