Out of doxy, tetra, and minocycline, tetracycline caused the least nausea/vomiting, but didn't help much either.

I've had acne for about 2 years maybe. And it's horrible it ruins your life makes you not wanna go outside and for the past couple of months my skins been clearing up a bit. I take vitamins called nicomide 3 times a day because i have vitamin defficiency and thats the cause of my acne and its also cause my dad had it but anyways i also started taking minocylcine and so far my skins clearing up but its super dried out and i can't wear cover-up now so the acne thats there is noticable. oh yeahh i always use erythromycin gel(idk how to spell it). AND i dont have insurance or whatever so basically i've spent over 1000 to 1500 dollars on my skin over the past 2 years so for me its costly. I hope maybe i've helped ppl.

My dermatologist prescribed minocylcine and differin gel for my acne. Both took about 6 months to finally kick in, and for about a year my skin looked amazing. After the honeymoon phase however, a lot of my acne is back. I tried to repeat the same regime again starting back in March, hoping it would work like it did the first time, and it didn't.

For those who have been taking Tetracycline for a week or two and are worried about it not working, just give it taime. Tetracycline can take up to 8 weeks to fully get in your blood stream.

I had mod/severe acne in my early college years. Nothing worked...Retin-A was useless, over the counter things were no help, Proactive was a huge waste of money. I went on Tetracycline, and by week 6, I was down to about one pimple a week. Yes, the schedule is a bit of a pain, but for those who are concerned about their acne, those who let it affect their lives, like I did, Tetracycline is the answer.

Hey guys, i have aken tetracycline for 3 years now, the stuff is garbage. It works for about 4 months and then nada.
I never had bad acne at all so i just kept taking it. It killed my immune system and i got sunburn like a mother. There is a ton of better things out there, PROACTIV

Covered by OHIP, so it's affordable for me.

I've used it for around 6 months now. It works slowly though. It took 3 months for my face to completely clear up. If you stop using it, the acne WILL come back. After 6 months, the doctor will have to stop the treatment or else the bacteria will mutate and become immune to the treatment. Those 6 months will be hell and you have to rely on over-the-counter topical treatments during that time.

Worked while I was on it. Made me sick to my stomach everyday. It stopped working when I became immune to it but worked for many months!

Worked really well, with no side effects for me. I was also able to take it in low amount after my acne cleared up to keep me skin clear.
