| Pros: | Works when you are on it.
started slowly however. I had no side effects whatsoever. |

| Bottom Line: | on my second time around using it... first time it worked really fast, cleared it up, got off it rather soon, shortly after it got worse, tried out accutane, cleared it up really REALLY well, and fast.. then it stayed clear for a while longer.. but now i went back to tetracycline, because its side effects were far more desireable for me than the accutane.
overall, it seems that most medications will never keep you clear after you are off them. stievamycin (contains tretinoin) is probably your best bet tho as it is topical, it works, and its not an antibiotic, and its undesirable side effects last a week at most.. i will likely go to this, after i get off the tetracycline. Focus on taking this, and then afterwards, have a VERY regimented diet. |

| Pros: | It cleared up my mild acne in about three weeks |
| Cons: | After prolonged use it's effects started to fade and I had to double my daily prescription.
Need to plan around meals |

| Bottom Line: | I have been using this perscription for a year or so and have seen almost no change in my skin. If anything, it makes things worse after you stop taking it. Such a scam, I feel very taken advantage from since I asked specifically for ACUTANE and the doctor insisted I "start" with this. Bullsh*t. |

| Pros: | I've been taking it for about 2 months now and it seems to be working however I'm still getting break outs during my menstrual cycle. What I don't like is that the break outs stay for awhile and doesn't go away fast. |

| Pros: | It works! Cleared up my skin in about a month. |
| Cons: | Inconvenient- I have to schedule my meals around the meds. It makes me feel nauseous when I take it, so I have to have a piece of food anyway to calm my stomach. |
| Bottom Line: | I used it for about 3 months to get rid of an acne flair up- I've had acne for a long long time, but this was the worst it's ever been, so I got tetracycline. It took about a month for it to work, but when it started working, my acne cleared up a lot.

| Cons: | Still get acne, Needs to be taken on empty stomaque, kills good bacteria |
| Bottom Line: | It kept acne down some, although I still get over my fair share of zits. I have been on 250mg twice a day for 3 months...so idk maybe i should have started off with 500mg a day till my face was clear. Bottom line is that for me it didn't do a whole lot, but it does help a little. |

| Bottom Line: | I used a tetracycline based product for Acne, prescribed by my doctor. I had mild/moderate acne. My skin was completely clear in 2/3 weeks and has remained so.
Antibacterial products screw up your immune system if you use them over the long term. Good bacteria reside in your body, that have a beneficial effect. I reccomend using a supplement of probiotic yoghurt, or something similar to replace the good bacteria. I take the supplement a few hours after using the antibiotics. |

| Cons: | nausea, dry skin on rest of body, birth control not effective |
| Bottom Line: | I am not sure whether the change in my skin is due solely to this product, because I started taking oral birth control at about a month before I started. I use ortho tri-cycline lo, and they have yet to study whether it effects acne. Also, i have eczema, so the dry skin is an issue. I'm not sure whether that is a common side effect though. I can no longer drink coffee and some sodas because the medicine has made my stomach so sensitive that they make me sick.
Other than that, the acne on my back and face has been completely eliminated. I am nervous about going off of the medication because it sometimes comes back. And I am also nervous about the summer because sunscreen irritated my skin, but i am willing to take all of these side effects and risks because my skin is clear. bottom line. |
