Pros:I have had really bad acne, concentrated on my forehead, and chin. I used Teracycline along with Differin at night. I have used it for anout 1 month and a half. My face is WAY better and it dosnt hurt as much either.
Cons:Taking this medication on an empty stomache gave me a mild upset stomach.
Bottom Line:Works good, cheap, low side effects.
Recommended:Yes

Pros:I had cysts along my jaw line and it started spreading to the rest of my face. I started tetracycline and within a week the bumps flattened. It's not completely healed but has helped a lot already in a week.
Cons:Taking the medicine on a empty stomach and the stomach cramps hurt also. I sometimes throw up but hoping thats a side effect that will go away.
Recommended:Yes

Pros:clears skin after a few months
Cons:leaflet does not explain side effects such as tinnitus which i firmly believe i have developed from persisent use of these tablets.
Bottom Line:be sure you want to deal with the side effects associated with these tablets - id prefer to have spots again! then endure the iritation of tinnitus

Bottom Line:I have had bad cystic ance that flared up on me this past summer. I never had acne before but i got about 10-12 big cysts around my chin and it was the worst feeling. i was prescribed tetracycline 500mg 2xs a day and it took about 3 weeks to work but all of my cysts went away and i havent had a pimple now for a month. I still have scars from the cystic ance but hopefully time will fade them and hopefully once i get off this stuff the acne neevr comes back

Bottom Line:I started using tetracycline about two years ago(I had been using dianette since the age of 14)after my acne flared up quite severly. It was prescribed to me by a dermatologist and worked extremely quickly. However after a month or two of finishing the prescription my acne flared up to the worst it has ever been. I am now back on tetracycline aswell as the dianette for the last two months. There has been a slight improvement in my acne but it worked alot quicker the first time...I know feel once I finish the prescription again it will flare up like before...For the last few months self confidence is at an all time low and I do not go out as much anymore because of my acne .It was my 21st recently and I wouldnt allow anyone to take pictures of me at my party...Things can only get better right??:)

I used Tetracyline for awhile, and never noticed any results. It was also very inconvenient taking the pills on an empty stomach.

I have been taking the pills for about a month and and half now. I can't see big improovements, but i am hoping that they will come!! i have also tried redap but it did not work.

i had really bad cystic acne and i saw results after 3 weeks, i have been eating it now for soon to be 3 months and havent had a new cyst since!!!!!! its really amazing and i have gotten used to the eating-thing. i havent had any side effects but i recomend to taking a pro-biotic aswell like acidophilus-bifidus so you put some good bacteria back in your body, so you dont get any problems with the stomach. i highly recomend it cause it helped me get my life back!

Cleared my skin up by itself in about 3 weeks straight. Worked only for about 6 months, got resistant to it. Tried it again about 3 years later, nothing happened, still resistant. Not worth it, because it's dangerous to get resistant to such a strong drug like Tetracycline.

Worked wonders, though.
