| Pros | Natural Can work very well |
|---|---|
| Cons | Doesnt work for everyone |
| Bottom line | i put a few drops of TOT in my moisturiser and spread it all over my face. it was going well until about 2 weeks later. i had MASSIVE lumps over my forehead which i had never had before and severe acne all over my face. i think it might of clogged my pores up or something. My sis just dabs a bit of tea trea oil on a cotton bud on puts it on individual spots, she has had no problems. i guess we react differently, so i would be careful when purchasing this product. |

| Pros | helps clear skin natural not too drying cheap |
|---|---|
| Cons | takes a while to kick in & requires regular use smell can be a bit much |
| Bottom line | been using this for a few months now and its fairly effective. however the key is CONSISTENCY. I only saw results once I'd been using it twice a day every day religiously for a couple of months. Stopped it for a week and boom, skin went horrible again with cysts etc. Back on it now though and its doing the job, clearing it up. I bought the 100% pure stuff from Boots and dilute it to about 5%, then apply to my face with cotton pads. I don't scrub too hard but you can see the dirt/oil coming off your face on the pad. leaves skin feeling a bit tight but at least you know its working. I had originally bought panoxyl 2.5% BP, I had started with very small amounts but to be honest didn't like the idea of putting something on my face that bleaches clothes! I read about the study that showed TTO had a comparable effect to BP but without the harsh side effects so decided to give it a go. so far i'm fairly pleased. It's not a miracle cure but the best thing I've found so far in terms of an every-day treatment. I would reccommend it, particularly if you're feeling apprehensive about using benzoyl peroxide |

| Pros | - I could see a difference in a couple of days - It dries out pimples VERY fast - Stops my skin from getting too oily wihout leaving it too dry |
|---|---|
| Cons | - Slightly stings |
| Bottom line | Within the first week I noticed that the deep pimples on my chin were getting smaller and the redness was slowly disappearing. Although, a couple of days after the first week I had a breakout around my mouth. I'm still not sure whether it was from the cleanser I was using (clean&clear advantage pimple control cleanser) or if it was the tea tree oil. |

| Pros | Refreshed complexion Clears tricky Blackheads |
|---|---|
| Cons | Do not use if you have dry skin! It will cause a breakout! |
| Bottom line | At 14, I have severe acne. I've tried EVERYTHING! Proactive, and BP only made my acne worse. I've been using this product for a month now, and I love it! My routine: Apply TTO to face using cotton ball, and leave it for an hour (I usually take this time to do my homework) After an hour is up, wash off with a mild soap. (i.e. Dove) If you have any acne scars, then apply a dab of Aloe Vera gel to the scar after washing your face I do this nightly, and it's worked like a charm. I hope you try this, because it is one of the best things you could ever possibly imagine. -Tianna |

| Pros | helps, control acne smaller pimples no side effects cheap $8 |
|---|---|
| Cons | took about a month to be totally clear smell is pungent but not bad |
| Bottom line | I've been using 100% tea tree oil on my forehead acne for about a month now. Although I saw results in about a week, it didnt stop regular breakouts until about a month into the regimen. I follow up the tto with eucerin calming moisturizer and my skin feels better than it has on any other treatment including salicylic washes. I would recommend anyone try this, just dont expect it to clear your skin overnight, or in the week for that matter. |

| Pros | Works well for people with oily skin and with pustules (regular pimples). It can be very drying, esp. at 100% strength, if so, use a more diluted one (the Body Shop's one is 15% and smells less than any other I've tried). The drying aspects are great if you have oily skin. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Not for you if you have truly dry skin. Warning: for me, it makes rosacea much worse! If you are getting worse, and you are not sure if you have rosacea, read about rosacea on this site and ask your doctor about it. |
| Bottom line | Good for "regular" acne characterized by pustules and with by oily skin. Too harsh and make rosacea worse. Rosacea requires different treatments. Sadly, you can have both acne and rosacea, esp. if you are older. If you do, or aren't sure what you have, see a dermatologist. Family practitioners are often unfamiliar with rasacea, despite how common it is. |

| Pros | its natural absorbs into my skin nicely kills bacteria cleans my face nicely I love it |
|---|---|
| Cons | the smell at first but u get accustomed to it |
| Bottom line | I had a SEVERE hormonal break out for 6 months non-stop which had everyone wondering what was going on with my skin. After trying my old products like neutrogena, st. ives, witch and everything else, I went to a dermatologist. She put me on stievamycin gel 0.025%, doxycycline antibiotics for 6 weeks. Around week 3 my acne started to clear up, but the amount of scars that were left, hhmm. :-( I researched extensively on google, and came upon essential oils for acne, . My prescriptions are finished and I was due to return to the derma.. 2 days ago, I didnt go back. 5 days ago I bought a bottle of tea tree oil from Care+. Belive it or not, the acne that started to come up after my antibiotics were finished, most of them are literally flat right now, I still cant believe its the tea tree oil thats working. All I'm using now is Palmers cocobutter soap, tea tree oil mixed with distilled water ( as a toner) and tea tree applied straight on my skin. Every minute I go to the mirror and stare at my face wondering why I didnt buy this oil 6 months ago. It works for me. :-) |

| Pros | it really works and fast, within 1 day I noticed a difference |
|---|---|
| Cons | The smell is really strong so you can only use it at home |
| Bottom line | I have Indian skin, and for the last 6 months I've been getting acne on my forehead, and worse of all when the acne goes it leaves a dark scar for months. The Tea Tree Oil I got was from the UK from a fairly well known store that begins with the letters Wil Note this has to be the 100% pure oil, not just some product that includes Tea Tree oil but the real deal 100% in a tiny bottle. I apply it with a finger directly on to my face, I find it dries my greasy skin and does two things, it seems to help the acne to just dissipate, but also seems to help it heal a lot faster then normal. This is by far the fastest acting thing I've ever tried for acne and it works amazingly. If you have sensitive skin this might be too strong for some, but for myself it works wonders. |

| Pros | It works. Natural. Affordable. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stings. |
| Bottom line | I used to use The Body Shop tea tree oil as it's recommended by many friends but I recently realised it's only 15% and went to get a 'regular' 100% Australian tree tree oil from the drugstore. The 100% one is awesome. It works so much faster yet the amount of stinging is not worse. I see my pimples drying up in 2days and the redness is reduced greatly when I apply some TTO before bed. I always read great reviews about TTO but was unsure why it didn't work too well for me, I guess since I am not allergic to it, using a higher concentration is better. Beware of skin sensitivity and allergies before using as seen in others' reviews. Patch-test or use tiny bits first. |
