| Pros | It gets rid of a lot of dirt and oil |
|---|---|
| Cons | It doesn't clear acne all by itself |
| Bottom line | I've been using witch hazel, followed by tea tree oil. I was amazed at how much oil and dirt from my face was on the cotton ball after I used the tea tree oil. Thats how I know that it's good at getting rid of the oil on your face. My acne isn't as bad as it was, but there are still some pimples that have come back. Also, when you use it, make sure you rub your face hard, and you only need a small amount on the cotton ball. |

| Pros | Works really well on body acne Starts working quickly |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can irritate skin has a strong smell |
| Bottom line | I use TTO on my chest, shoulders, and back and it works great. It stings a little on open pimples and the smell is REALLY strong if you don't dilute it but it works really quick. Be careful if you use it on your face though, I used it on my face once and had to wash it all back off because it immediattely started to burn really bad and it made my face all red. |

Its also great for whitening teeth and i put a few drops in the bath. its natural and i use it in the regimin but i replace mosteriser with the oil because it is great for balancing skin. 5 days later i have not one spot. it make me wonder why i spent so much time and money on mainstream crap |

| Pros | Hmm...seems to actually work! As a spot treatment does not seem to be as irritating on the skin as other topical treatments. Inexpensive . Backed by clinical studies. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Strong smell. |
| Bottom line | As a mild/moderate acne sufferer for many years, mainly around the chin/jaw area, I've continuously been on the search for a treatment that would be both effective AND tolerable for my sensitive skin. I think I may have found it. Subjectively, I've noticed it seems to be very effective undiluted as spot treatment on new acne lesions that are just beginning to form, reducing its size and redness significantly within 24 hours of its application. I have not tried it on unaffected parts of my face for prevention purposes yet. As a physician, I was curious to see if there were any clinical studies done to prove the effectiveness of tea tree oil. As it turns out, studies using only 5% tea tree oil has been shown to be as effective as 5% BP on reducing mild to moderate acne but with less irritation. |

| Pros | Its great for a wide many uses, especially immediate spot treatment of acne as well as a daily toner. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can be very irritating and over-drying when applied alone, and not everyone can tolerate the odor. |
| Bottom line | I've been using TTO for a few months now and am very impressed. I have never had bad acne but often to get a pimple or to per week, with the occasional breakout. For spot treatment I apply a dab to a qtip and apply directly to the zit or zit area, undiluted. On a daily basis I dampen a cotton ball and then add a few drops of TTO and then apply to my face next and chest. It has done more then anything before. Further... it has helped many other ailments I have (which I won't list here) but I highly recomment the product... its one of the few substances that is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. Proven more effective in the long run than neosporin, so I am guessing it is good for preventing scars too. Oh, and that pricy looking little bottle actually lasts a very long time. |

| Pros | None |
|---|---|
| Cons | It dries up our skin and it didn't help me at all; made the problem worse! |
| Bottom line | It obviously works on some people, but I guess it just depends on your skin type. For me, it didn't work. Oh well. |

| Pros | Struggled with acne prone skin on face, sholders and back for years TTO helped clear it all up within one week. Miracle |
|---|---|
| Cons | The smell is strong but def worth it!I actually like the smell but its not the best for a first date lol..... |
| Bottom line | You have to try TTO at least onces, its natural and it works. You can even buy mositurizers with TTO in them if you find 100% TTO dries out your skin. |

| Pros | inexpensive, can use all over body, has many uses |
|---|---|
| Cons | there are no cons for me!!! |
| Bottom line | I have been using tea tree oil for over 7 years and mix it with cetaphil moisturizing cream as my one step skin treatment. I have had only mild breakouts when i get lazy or forget to use it and I love the smell although some of my friends do not. My skin has been so good for so long, but I ran out of tea tree and forgot about it. I started wearing makeup and got horrible acne from something that was comedogenic. Since then I have used Kern's to get clear(intending to go back to tea tree) But, the skin darkening from the BP is annoying, so I'm glad to be back to tea tree. |
