| Pros | Seems to be working so far. I refuse to put BP or SA (or any other harsh products) on my skin after living with very dark red scars on my face for years as a result of using those products. TTO seems more promising.. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Smell. Acutally starting to like it now but initially was very turned off. |
| Bottom line | I've only been using TTO for a short period of time but it seems to be very effective at reducing the appearance of pimples and possibly even preventing them (haven't had a new one yet and I usually wake up with a new one daily). It does dry out the skin, especially around the area where the lesion is located. Red marks are much lighter than when treating with BP and I am hopeful that they will disappear faster as well. Currently, I dampen a cotton ball with lukewarm water and add 3-4 drops of 100% TTO and go over the problem areas once a day. I wait for it to dry and then apply an oil-free lotion. I have very sensitive and dry skin and it's winter so I'm also trying out dime-sized Cetaphil Moisturizer + 2 drops TTO on an area of my forehead to see if it is effective at keeping my acne at bay as well as moisturizing enough for my skin. I am praying that this stuff will continue to work for me as I am very saddened by the effects of BP and SA on my face. Will keep p |

| Pros | Really dried out zits and started to heal them a lot faster. I started noticing results within just a few hours of my first application. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Smells BAD. Blech. It can way over-dry your skin if you're not careful. I dilute it with a q-tip and use it only as a spot treatment for fear that my face would completely flake off if I used it all over. |
| Bottom line | Really great natural product. You have to dilute it, though or you'll be in trouble. It really dries things out and that could be harmful if used all over. Best as a spot treatment. I use 100% tea tree oil and it's worked great to get rid of zits fast. However, it doesn't do much for scars. |

| Pros | Works very well if used correctly. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Does NOT work well if undiluted. |
| Bottom line | I bought TTO a while ago and was using it all over my face as I heard it is par with BP in terms of clearing up acne. Silly me however, just slapped a bunch all over my face undiluted. This aggravated my skin and I broke out even more. I'm trying it out again diluted, as my pimples did get smaller practically overnight. DILUTE THE OIL! You can use a Qtip with water as mentioned or mix it with sweet almond oil or whatever else you have. |

| Pros | Dries acne, makes it seem to heal faster. Is natural. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Causes hard lumps under the skin that turn into cystic acne and leave bad scars. |
| Bottom line | I was putting dabs of pure tea tree oil on acne to dry it up. After a while I realised it was causing hard lumps to form where I had been applying it. They lasted ages and turned into cystic acne that scarred. Now I have stopped using it I no longer get this. So if you intend to use this stuff keep a close eye out for this in case it happens to you. These scars will take many years to heal, if they ever do :( Disaster |

| Pros | feels good when applied. tightens pores |
|---|---|
| Cons | smells too strong. |
| Bottom line | I don't think it does the job for me. I felt that it tightened the pores, but no impact on my pimples. Initially, I tried it with a Q-tip at 100% topically, but it didn't make much difference. Next, I diluted it with toner and applied it in the problem areas with cotton balls. it won't hurt. it is good in the areas where pores are visible. |
