i have moderate/severe acne , ive been drinking alot of water which has been helping prevent major breakouts , and i use 100% from the vitamine shoppe , i just dab it on my finger in the evening and apply it to the bumps . after 2 days ive noticed a remarkeable improvement . in another couple weeks i will repost and hopefully my skin will improve .

My mother suggested a particular brand of tea tree oil to me, Jason's (which can only be found at health food stores), because I get really bad tension headaches. She told me to put it on my forehead for the headaches, and when I did, I noticed my acne cleared up some, and my face was not as red. Works great as spot treatment, but this brand has a horrible smell, and is very greasy for about an hour. I suggest using it at home only, and washing it off before trying to change clothes or go to bed! Girls, you will probably want to keep your hair back away from your face, and definatly NO makeup.

This stuff is definately a good spot treatment. Not usuable as a topical treatment all over, the smell is way too strong. I think it works as well as BP as a spot remover, if not better. i use it on lesions 2-3 times a day with a cuetip, really dries out those suckers.

I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil direct on pimples, and it usually reduces the size of the large ones (by drying them out). I also use the Body Shop Tea Tree Mask in a thin layer (it's green) on areas that are really breaking out and I find this helps calm things down (swelling) - but if I stop using it in a forming pimple, the pimple will come back.

I use 100% tea tree oil non diluted, I only dab it on problem areas with a q-tip. Love it! Works soo well, i get fewer pimples and the ones i do get go away soo quickly! The smell....well you get used to the smell, especially when looking at pimple free skin.

Too harsh to use "straight" on the face as a preventative. (If I try it, it makes my skin red and irritated, and doesn't help my acne this way) But a couple of drops applied straight just "on the spot" of a broken / popped pimple can help the infection from coming back. In this way it is great! So when I have a bad spot, if I apply this carefully and JUST TO THAT SPOT it helps it from becoming a pimple again. However, it does NOT make the red scar go away any faster.

So... This won't cure you over the long run, but is a good "first aid kit" ingredient for emergencies.

Can also mix a LITTLE BIT into your Jojoba or other non-comodegenic oil in order to keep infections to a minimum. But be careful not to apply too much. I have an 8 oz bottle of jojoba oil and I mixed in 20 drops of Tea Tree Oil. Makes the jojoba oil, when I use it as a moisturizer, give a little added benefit for my acne. (It seems to keep me a bit more clear)

I have used different types of Tea Tree products but the best one I have used is the Boots Tea Tree toner and it is very effective for calming spots and reducing some redness.

Tea tree oil has never worked well for me as an acne cure. It is good for mosquito bites though. Also (this may belong on another kind of bulletin board but ladies deserve to know), tea tree oil is an awesome home remedy for yeast infections. I have been using tea tree oil products from The Body Shop for about 2 weeks now and have seen wonderful results. The smell is a little strong but usually doesn't last for to long. I would recommend to anyone that has tried everything else to no avail. It's a little pricy but a little goes a long way.

I have quite bad acne on my face and slightly down my neck. i've tried every product there is to try and get rid of it. been on various medications from the doctor ranging from minocycline, tetracycline, zineryt and duac cream. nothing seemed to work until i tired teatree (100% which u are suppose to dialute) however i found it most effective when you didn't. i found washing your face with hot water, letting it dry naturally then adding teatea on affected areas really helped and so begin wth really cleared it up. however my acne is back and i am now on strong antibiotics and the conraceptive pill (dianette) which has proven very effective. would definatly recommend it
