| Pros | Its helps drys out spots use all over face, body, hair |
|---|---|
| Cons | Its not a cure |
| Bottom line | Buy it online $3, so much cheaper than a drug store. I put it on all over my face at night, all the time. I believe it helps when mixed into your moisturiser or something. But dab extra on aswell by itself. Don't get near eyes. Its very drying and an antibacterial agent, natural healing. |

| Pros | Dries up oily skin Keep shine away for awhile Smells good Seems to diminish acne |
|---|---|
| Cons | Exacerbates wrinkles if you have them |
| Bottom line | I recently have had my acne come back after almost 5 years gone for seemingly no reason. (I am 26). Desperate to try anything that would work, (I have tried everything on the market in the past, antibiotics, birth control, topical creams, benzol peroxide, apple cider vinegar, except for Accutaine) I picked up some tea tree oil from the local natural food co-op after reading such positive reviews on this site. I have only been using for a week, and I can say that does seem to be helping! To use, I wet a cotton pad and add 2 to 3 drops on TTO and apply as a toner. I have been doing this morning and night. After just a few days, my complexion does look much clearer. The only con is that if you have wrinkles (I have worry lines on my forehead) the drying nature of the oil will exacerbate them. This is pretty lame, but at this point I would rather be pimple free than wrinkle free. My advice to anyone is to give this stuff a try! I read a lot of people didn't like the smell, but I love it! Hope this review helps someone! |

| Pros | Can help dry out zits and leave your skin feeling cool and soft |
|---|---|
| Cons | Made my face break out in a swollen pimple like rash, and very red and irritated |
| Bottom line | Basically, If you have sensitive skin like I do, be careful using tea tree oil, it's VERY drying, and made my face 100x worse. I would recommend it to people who don't have a problem with drying. |

| Pros | Feels great No chemical side effects Good for your skin Works on cystic acne |
|---|---|
| Cons | Strong smell |
| Bottom line | I'm 29 years and have chronic, moderate cystic acne along and under my jaw line. I've tried every product and prescription in the world, and nothing is like pure, 100% natural tea tree oil. I pour a small amount into my palms, rub my hands together and then along the affected areas. I can do this several times throughout the day and each time I instantly feel a relief. I began using tea tree oil in this way about 2 weeks ago, and all of the cysts have shrunk in size and most are no longer raised on my skin at all. There is still some redness, but every day it's improved a bit more. This is something NO OTHER MEDICATION has ever been able to do for me! I'm sold. |

| Pros | Clears up acne Works fairly quickly Doesn't have as many side effects as chemicals like benzoyl peroxide |
|---|---|
| Cons | Strong smell (may be offensive to some people) Stings for a minute after application |
| Bottom line | My acne is light, but it is all over my face and is persistent. I also tend to get red marks/scars on my cheeks. After using tea tree oil for only five days, I have already noticed significant improvement. Not only do I have less active pimples, but my red marks and scars are fading as well and my skin tone is more even. I apply tea tree oil in the evening only, after washing my face. I squeeze out a quarter-sized blob of aloe vera gelly, then add three drops of oil and put this mixture all over my face. It does smell very strong but I have gotten used to it. THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT HAS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED MY ACNE!!!! |

| Pros | Natural Treatment Cost Effective Versatile Keeps my skin feeling clean |
|---|---|
| Cons | Smells like Gasoline Must be diluted |
| Bottom line | I absolutely LOVE tea tree oil! You can use it in just about everything, not just skin oriented. I first purchased it to make a brush cleanser (6 parts witch hazel, 1 part tea tree oil). The tea tree oil cleanses the brushes as well as conditions it. When using this cleanser recipe it also helps the skin when you're putting on makeup... So knowing tea tree could be used in the face I would spot treat pimples with it. At first the scent was way to strong for me, but I have gotten used to it. I was looking for a cleanser that would clean my pores better but I was having a very difficult time finding one, so I began to add tea tree oil to my purpose cleanser. I use two pumps of cleanser, and with an eye dropper, 3 drops of tea tree oil. This stuff can be extremely harsh on skin if used in 100% form on delicate skin, so it is highly advised by many websites to dilute it. Some say for oily/normal skin use water and for sensitive skin use aloe vera (which also has great skin benefits) Aubrey Organics has the purest gel I could find, besides turning to the type you would drink. Overall, tea tree oil is an amazing product; especially for people who want to go to the all natural route. However, this probably should not be the only thing you use for acne. Exfoliation must occur, so if you want to go all natural google some natural ways to exfoliate the skin to get rid of the sticky, dead skin cells clogging your pores. This is great stuff! *The cost I inputed is for a large bottle of 100% australian tea tree oil from vitaminshoppe |
