This oily substance definitely made my acne worse, and the anti-bacterial effect was poor in comparison to benzoyl peroxide. It also made my face smell like a forest.

I reccommend Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash, which contains tea tree oil and awapuhi. While it hasn't worked any HUGE acne miracles on me, I have noticed a difference since I began using it as instructed on the bottle: gently massage it into wet skin for a minute before rinsing. I also began using it on my back at the end of each shower (I have a feeling that conditioner dripping off my hair isn't great for my pores) and noticed an improvement. The best part is it leaves your face feeling incredibly soft, softer than any product I have ever tried (including Cetaphil). It doesn't have a strong tea tree odor, either, or a super perfumy-feminine scent. You can find it at health food stores for around $7-8 (for those of you with a Trader Joe's nearby, they sell it for $2-$3 cheaper).

I've been using 100% pure tea tree oil and it does help. I think it really helps with preventing acne rather than clearing up existing acne. Since it's an all natural anti-biotic, it kills the bacteria without nearly as much burning as Benzoyl Peroxide or Salyctic acid. It actually feels pretty cool and soothing when you apply it.

I recently got a painful zit on my face that I thought might be a boil, so I used hot compresses and then put tea tree oil on a few places. TTO made one side of my face swell wherever it touched and burned so badly for a week that I was worried it was going to leave scars. I had to keep applying cold compresses, and take Benadryl tablets to keep the swelling down. When it finally subsided, the skin peeled off and the zit was completely gone. Fortunately my skin returned to normal. My skin must be extra sensitive. I guess it can work well, but be very careful not to use it with heat and to test a small amount on a very small spot first so you don't burn your entire face.

I primarily use 100% tea tree oil as a spot treatment. I use it for those pimples that you feel coming from a mile away. I once felt one coming on the tip of my nose and I could tell it was going to be big. I applied a thin layer over five times a day for two days(this is excessive). It really stopped the pimple in its tracks and by the third day it was gone. I was left with a dry patch, but it beats having a huge red zit and a dark scar for months afterward.

I have been using 100% Jason tea tree oil for about two months now, and I basically have no more acne!!! However, tea tree oil has been left my face really dry, so I started moisturizing with jojoba oil. My skin is acne-free and quite soft.

probably the most effective natural acne treatment. I add a few drops to my clay mask, and to my moisturizer, and eat a healthy diet....and my acne has almost dissapeared except for a few blackheads!

I've tried Tea Tree Oil a little while ago and the results were good - but have been trying Manuka Oil for the past week with much better results ( - It's a New Zealand relation to the Aust Tea Tree ). The website I brought the product off [link removed] has a 'low aroma' type which is great. After trying about 40 different treatments I've finally found one that works for me :-)

I started suing Thursday Plantation 100% Tea Tree Oil about 1 1/2 months ago. I put 2-3 drops on a cotton ball and "lightly" massage it over the spots. I combine it with 2-3 drops of Now 100% pure geranium oil. The geranium oil is also good for acne, and it is soothing to skin. I use that combo every single night, and I don't care about the smell. It fades pretty quickly. In the morning I use a toner I made with 2 ounces of Witch Hazel, 1 ounce Rose Water, 15 drops Tea Tree Oil, 12 drops Geranium Oil and 10 drops Rosemary Oil. May face has been clear for 3 weeks now. I still have some red marks, but they are going away. I am just gettting very occasional whtieheads now thatgo away overnight when I use the oils and a thin coat of SA gel.

Smells horrible. Word of advice. I thought, since it is suppose to dry your pimple, wouldnt it work best if i put some on a cottonball and adhere it to my face before bed. I was in for a surprise in the morning. It kind of looked like a blister/boil. I tried to cover it with makeup. It was so bad my friends told me to just put a bandaid over it. The bright yellow bandaid looked better than that did.
