I have back acne that just will not be gotten rid of completly. But I have found Tea Tree to be one of the more effective things to use on large painful pimples. In my case it tends to shrink them in a real hurry. I do not dilute the oil and use is in sparingly. I haven't seen it actually prevent any breakouts but it really does help control what I'm already dealing with. My skin never has felt irritated by it and the one little bottle I bought has gone a very long way. I'd tell people to at least try it if conventional methods are not working out.

I use 100% tea tree oil from Vitamin Shoppe. Everyone else is saying how they only use 3 or 4 drops, but I use way more. I pretty much soak a cotton pad with it, and rub it all over my face... EXCEPT for anywhere near my eyes, because it burns REALLY bad. Anyway, it seems to be working pretty good... even making scars disappear.

I have been taking oral antibiotics since one year to treat my acne, a month ago my doctor switched my antibiotic to a lower strenght because my skin was fairly clear then i read in a magzine that the famous celebrity dermotologist said that use tea tree oil to treat acne. I had 2 pimples due to periods and i used tea tree oil not only on my pimples but also on the rest of my face as well to make my skin more clear. It was thursday that i went to my college with beautiful skin and today is Monday that i m sitting at home with tons of oinment on my forehead because my skin got terrible eczema and with alot of benzoyal on my cheeks because with in 2 days i broke out into tiny pink pimples. I was thinking that it is the new antibiotic or periods but after doing a research i came to know that tea tree oil is not for every one. If you have a clear skin with only 1 or 2 pimples thank GOD for what you have rather than trying new things all the time....cause every remedy is not for every one...use what suits u and if something is working out wonders for u do not try any thing new:)

i mix tea tree oil (organic essential oil) with vitamin e oil. three drops with about a quarter-sized amount of vitamin e oil. this dilutes it and makes sure it can't cause any damage.
because i like the smell and the cooling, soothing feeling--i find it very "agreeable"

i wouldn't want to use it with aloe gel. maybe the aloe/vitamin e gel would be good...not sure.

anyway, this is a really cheap way for me to wake up with dewy clear skin.

I use a Tea Tree Oil w/Awapuhi Face Wash that can be bought at Wild Oats and Trader Joes (both nationwide alternative markets).

I am 34 and have large cystic like acne on back, chest, Arms, and neck/face. I have used this wash for 3 months now and found that there is a definite pattern to the effectiveness of Tea Tree Oil. There will be an initial flare-up of white-heads...I don't know the scientific reason but I guess that it is because it is forcing the bacteria out of the pores/follicles. But once this occurs there are only an occasional white head that will crop up.

It seems that the my skin is tighter, the smell is funky but I can not apply a light facial mosturizer with out the ineveitable pimple break-out the next day due to the Tea Tree Wash keeping the overall bacteria level on my face to a minimum.

That being said I have not ever tried direct oil and have found the combo wash to be very helpful though a bit pricey for more than face application (back, shoulders etc).

Well I have been using Tea Tree Oil for about 6 days now and all I can say is that it has proven only mild results. I have seen a teensy bit of improvement but overall, it has made my skin a little dry (particularly around the mouth area). I applied it on the apples of my cheeks, nose, and forehead. My forehead cleared up a little but there are still a few pimples here and there. It also left my forehead feeling tight. The apples of my cheeks are where the majority of my acne is and it hasn't cleared up my skin a substantial amount. Mind you, it did clear up a bit but not dramatically. Tea Tree Oil also has left that area a bit tight. As for my nose, the majority of it is covered in blackheads. The Tea Tree Oil smoothed out the top of my nose but didn't do anything for my "side bumpies". I don't know if the results will come later but I do advise to moisturize! What I do is take a soft face cloth and put a little petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on it and gently rub it into the dry spots. It works fast but you need to do it daily for avid results.

I've been using JASONS tea-tree oil shampoo for its cooling sensation after using BP. It helps tolerate BP and get rid of itching, otherwise BP becomes totally unbearable. It however, dries my skin a bit.

[Probably not the best thing to do, but it's either that or turn my skin into a bleeding pulp.] (YMMV)

Best used only as spot treatment with a Q-tip. Scent is overpowering. It makes sense it's harsh since it's an antiseptic. Be careful.

I used the green tea and it didnt help at all... actually it had more negative things happen then positive like the redness of my skin was crazy and the smell was terrible.. i tried boiling it in a pot of water with about 3-4 drops in the pot..that works ok but keep your windows open...

Tea Tree Oil (100%) aggravated my acne, and made me break out with large amounts of painful pustules, more than once, and in less than a week. The initial cooling sensation is nice, but the rather strange scent & ineffectiveness (in my case) made me dislike this particular natural remedy. To me, it was also quite expensive.

Like the previous reviewer, I too prefer benzoyl peroxide to this product - though my acne has become immune to it after using it religiously for several years (by the way, those who think benzoyl peroxide (in whatever concentration) will keep them clear for long periods of time, need to understand the reality of bacterial evolution).

This said, I still advise that you give tea tree oil a try & see if your acne improves - it might just work for you.
