Pros None
Cons Didn't work as spot treatment
Poor smell
Expensive
Bottom line Unfortunately for me, I used this when I was still trying to find an OTC treatment for my acne. I know it works in some people and they swear to it, but it simply didn't work for me. I used it as a spot treatment continually for about 3 weeks and did not see an improvement in the time or the severity of the acne.

I think this just shows how everyone's skin is a little different and what works for some is a huge disappointment for others.

Pros Works!
Cons Burning sensation.
Other than that, nothing.
Bottom line It really fades scars from previous acne but it burns really bad. I even diluted it and it still burns my face bad.

Pros -Heals existing blemishes
-Decreases amount of new pimples
-Reduces redness
-Inexpensive
-Readily available at any drugstore
Cons -Feel a slight burn for about a minute after applying
-Strong smell (some people like the smell, but not me)
Bottom line I've struggled with acne for two years and over the last three months, it became severe, covering 80 percent of my face in pustules, painful nodules, whiteheads, smaller pimples, scarring, and redness. The physical pain became so bad, it woke me up at night to lay on my face. I've tried so many products--gels, cream washes, spot treatments, masks, foams. Salysylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide. Sulfur. Doxycycline oral medication. It became exhausting, frustrating and expensive. My dermatologist prescribed me Acutane as a last resort, but I'm uninsured and can't afford the high price. I thought I was stuck forever and that my acne would get worse as it had been over 3 months time.

I started using a COMBINATION regimine (see below) of Dial Soap, TTO, and Hydrogen Peroxide and I noticed a difference within 3 days I had 32 whiteheads on my chin when I began using the combo and they were cleared within three days. After 6 days, the larger, pustules and nodules began going down and drying out. The pain in my face went away and I don't get nodules anymore. My face has improved so much (almost 100 percent clear and no new pimples) and in a short amount of time.

Because it's a combo, I'm unsure of what ingredient is most responsible for clearing my face--the TTO or HP. I don't want to stop one to find out either because this is the 1st time in two years my face is nearly 100 percent clear. All I know is this is working for me and I hope it does for you too!

My regimine (in the morning and at night)
1. Wash face with anti-bacterial soap (ie DIAL)
2. Apply HP to a cotton swab and dab lightly to the affected areas (steering clear of eyebrows and hair line as it can dye it)
3. When it dries, I put Tea Tree Oil on a cotton swab and dab the affected area

I don't use a moisturizer b/cI have oily skin and live in a tropical/humid climate, so I don't have much over-drying. But I would recommend using a moisturizer for anyone else because the

Pros clear smooth skin.
Cons NONE!
Bottom line This took about 3-4 weeks to clear up my skin completely, but this is what has given me almost perfect skin. I had moderate to severe acne with pimples and some cysts before. NOTE: This only keeps me clear if I mostly avoid soda and don't indulge in too much junk.

wash face and moisturize once per day before bed in shower.

facewash recipe: 2/3 water, 1/3 dr brommers tea tree pure castile soap, ~15 drops now solutions 100% pure jojoba oil

a plastic container can be bought at beauty products stores or some organic stores, leave a half inch or so at top for room to shake and mix bottle well

(squirt good amount in hands, rub hands together to build very nice lather, wash very gently barely touching skin for only 10 seconds or so, pat dry very gently with towel)

moisturizer: Olay complete oil free non comodogenic

(apply generous amount to face and neck avoiding eye area very gently barely touching skin)

for slight tan: once or twice per week substitute Jergens natural glow healthy complexion medium to tan skin tones oil free non comodogenic moisturizer

(apply generous amount to face and neck very gently barely touching skin, blend very well especially around eyes but don't apply too close to eyes, apply to neck also so your neck doesn't look too pale for your face, you can also do the rest of your body if you want but i prefer not to)

I'd say the cost is $25 per month overall, because jojoba oil can last like a year and dr brommers dilluted can last 6 months. Moisturizers you may need to buy every 1-2 months.

Pros -brings pimples to a head then shrinks them
-does a great job at fading scars
-don't have to be too wary about putting too much, because it doesn't clog pores.
Cons -Doesn't help acne in the long run, just fights present acne
-Strong smell (I like it, but I don't like my mom asking me if I'm putting 'medicine' on my face).
Bottom line I've been using Extra Virgin Coconut oil for about three months now (just so that you know what else I've been doing) and it has really helped my acne in the long run. However, the acne that did continue to show up was still difficult to deal with.

That's where tea tree oil comes in. I bought a small bottle for $10.99, but a little goes a long way. Last week, I saw a scary cyst-like pimple developing. The kind that forms under your skin and is very big and painful. I applied this to that faithfully and it made it first extremely hard, and then it started shrinking it. Now, there is practically no scar on my face. Had it not been for the oil, that cyst may have gotten really big and red, and would still be on my face. Tea tree oil seriously zaps zits, and dramatically reduces the size of acne. You do have to be a little patient though, it takes three days before the acne is completely gone, but it beats popping zits, spreading germs, and leaving scars.

A lot of people say that they dilute it, but I apply it straight on my face, and a lot of it too. I've never had any burning or irritation. Then again, I don't have sensitive skin, so please, test it on a small patch of skin before applying it all over your face!

Pros -Works well if used correctly
-Excellent alternative to BP
-Doesn't cause burning redness like BP
-Cleans and disinfects bacteria on the face
-Dries out acne
-Almost no side effects
Cons -Can be sting a bit if you use too much
Bottom line For those who have bad experiences, you have to dilute it with water. I rinse my face using cetaphil face wash, preferably with cold water, then after it dries, I stick the very tip of a cotton swab into the tea tree oil bottle and stir it in a cup with tiny amounts of water. Then I use cotton balls, dip it in the cup, and pat it over my face. After it dries, I apply cetaphil lotion. Then that's it! My face is more "stable" and it looks great! I definitely see faster improvement than using BP.

Okay, I've been on Dan's regimen for 5 years, it was working well but I've been experiencing bad side effects such as redness and burning, and oddly re-occurring acne. I finally threw all of my acne.org products away because I discovered it was causing me problems: jojoba clogged pores, AHA damaged/burned my skin, BP caused irritation/dryness/redness, etc. So I had to find an alternative and this was the closest and best I could find.

I use the Spring Valley brand I found at Wal-Mart

Pros Dries up pimples real quick
Kills bacteria
Good for you
Cons Smelllss baddd
Can burn if you put too much esp around eyes
Bottom line I usto use tea tree oil for mosquito bites to stop the itch and redness. So it only makes sense that it would do the same for my pimples. Its cheap and a very naturale spot treatment ,if your someone that uses toothpaste as a spot treatment u really need to update. It does dry out your pimples and it kills bacteria but pouring it all over your face will not do you any good. Its a caustic solution so for allover application you might want to dilute it. Idk if its a cure to acne because its only makes pimples dat yu have go away idk if it really prevents dem. Keep in mind when pimples surface dey r actually the last stage of the acne that pimples might have been deyr days or weeks before it surfaced. So idt this product cures acne but it helps u maintain it.

Pros Dries up acne / kills it
Can use all over or as a spot treatment
Reduces inflammation
Natural
No Free Radical Damage
Cons If applied in undiluted form, it may cause dryness and/or a burning sensation.
Bottom line This is the one and the ONLY thing that has been kind to my skin and has truly been clearing me up! Initially I only applied the diluted form all over my face morning and night, but once I saw the results, I decided to use the pure form as a spot treatment in between my morning/night treatments. Altogether I do 3-4 tea tree oil treatments a day (I'm sending my acne on a well deserved boot-camp >:-3) and have never ever seen my face respond so positively. If I feel dry after I do my treatments, I just apply olive oil/Aloe Vera to my skin and the problem is more than solved. Altogether, within two (2) days, most of my acne is gone, and the rest are shriveling away!
