| Pros: | cleared up skin almost completley |
| Cons: | unsightly peeling, reddening of face, at first made acne worse |
| Bottom Line: | patience is really the key for this product. the way it works is it 'reprograms' your skin to slough off faster. thats why you peel alot. itll look like dry skin but its not that bad. also at the beginnin, my face was a bit pinker than normal... also it made me break out alot more for the first while. but once you've been on this for a few months your skin will clear up, cuz i had horrendous acne.... now i only get a few zits during the time of the month lol.
i rly recommend taking it, itll be well worthit! |

| Pros: | have not seen any yet |
| Cons: | 1. Very Red face
2. Made my face look like it was covered in horrible acne and a rash
3. Burned and itches so much I wanted to scratch my face off |
| Bottom Line: | I am going to hang in there. I have very sensitive skin and this is doing a number on it. I am 30 and my acne has become embarrassing since being on this. I am going to give it an honest effort. But I would really like to stay inside and not go anywhere. |

| Pros: | cleared my hormonal acne when nothing else worked. smooth skin! |
| Cons: | drying, takes 12 weeks to really see a difference |
| Bottom Line: | I'm 25 years old and had a serious case of hormonal acne. I was on acne meds and BC pills for years with perfect skin and decided to go off of them. My face broke out with giant cysts on my cheeks, forehead, and chin like no other. I tried Differin, Benzoclyn, antiobiotics, and NOTHING worked. If you saw my skin now as opposed to 12 weeks ago, you wouldn't know I was the same person. You have to be PATIENT, though. It really does take 12 weeks to see very significant change. I started using it 2 times a week (I didn't want gross peeling and redness on top of my acne!) and worked my way up. Now, i use it every single night with no irritation. It really pays to start small and work your way up. Also, follow the doctor's instruction of using a moisturizer BEFORE you apply the Tazorac. Trust me, it will not get in the way of results! This is a great drug, you just have to be patient with it. I didn't think a topical could ever work for hormonal acne, but this one did! Use it! |

| Pros: | Speeds up the skin's processes, so pimples may come and go faster than they usually do, may have reduced, prevented, and improved scarring, my nose blackheads seemed to have lessened a little bit |
| Cons: | I'm still breaking out in cysts after 12 weeks, skin is uneven, red, scabby, peely; I do not look clear or even near clear, all the breaking out has made a ton of red and brown spots. |
| Bottom Line: | Tazorac did not really work for me. I had been told by my dermatologist that if Bactrim didn't work the second time, we would talk about Accutane. I was scared, and wanted to try every possible method to rid my acne before resorting to Accutane, so I had another derm prescribe me Taz in combo with Aczone and Solodyn. This entire system did not really work at all for me. I just saw my original derm a few days ago, and told him that I had been on Taz, and he flat out said to me, "I HATE Tazorac. It's so irritating!" I found it to be irritating to a certain extent, but the real problem I have with this med is that all it has seemed to do is just break me out and then fix the breakouts really fast as more pimples start to come up. It just didn't get to the root of the problem. I think that it's not a very good solution for severe cystic acne. But I don't regret trying everything first before deciding to go on Accutane. |

| Pros: | Seems to be working as a heavy duty exfoliant and in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide |
| Cons: | Takes a lot of adjusting to find the amount of product that works without making your face peel, itch or turn red. Acne does seem to get slightly worse before improving |
| Bottom Line: | I have battled acne my entire life but for the most part, OTC products have controlled it. Since turning 40, I am experiencing the worse case of cystic nodules on my chin and along the jawline. My Doc prescribed Tazorac to be used along with benzoyl peroxide each on alternating days. Well, as you can imagine, my face was raw, raw raw...and as painful as the nodules themselves. My skin peeled off in sheets and I couldn't get rid of the flakes or cover up the ruby red lesions...I swear I was about suicidal at this point....I stopped using everything on my face except Dove soap and Oil of Olay moisturizer/sensitive skin. When my face calmed down, I added a moisturizer with AHA to "eat" the remaining flakes. I then used Tazorac one night with a moisturizer chaser, the next night I use a thin layer of BP. Each morning I use moisturizer for sensitive skin (with sunscreen of course) or moisturizer with AHA if I have slight flakes. Seemed to have found the combo for me and see improve |

| Pros: | works well after a about 2 weeks of consistent use |
| Cons: | did anybody else have to pay 457 dollars for this stuf?! |

| Pros: | nothing after two weeks |
| Cons: | Severe peeling of my face, burning,redness,increase breakouts,very itchy. |
| Bottom Line: | I just started using Taz. It has only been two weeks,I have not noticed anything yet. However I am sticking with it since everyone says that it gets worse before it gets better.
My derm never told me that I have to use moisturizer one hour prior to applying taz,and I have found that I have to moisturize through out the day since my skin is soo dry and peeling/itchy. I have moderate blackheads on chin and forhead.
Has anyone had good luck with this, any suggetions? |

| Pros: | Makes zits disappear!! |
| Cons: | Too harsh on skin |
| Bottom Line: | I have used retinoids for the past 4 years but always had some blackheads/whiteheads that would not go away. The derm gave me samples of Taz .05 cream and it worked like a dream. Within a week my face was clear and gorgeous; I was so happy. My face was feeling a little tight-ok a LOT tight, I couldn't smile fully almost like I'd had Botox. So I stopped using the Taz for a day and my face continued to get tighter, then it got red and now my cheeks look like I am part lizard (to quote my derm) I have a steroid cream now because it's been 5 days of this red, cracked awful skin. Taz is a really powerful cream! Listen to the people on this site who say to use the Taz every other day or even once a week, They know what they are talking about. Eventually when my skin heals I will be more careful. |
