I could find nothing to help my adult acne...until I went fo ra series of five glycolic acid peels and began using the tazorac afterwards, along with a combination clindamycin and benzolperoxide each once a day...this has cured my condition completely...after years of struggle in my late twenties i found something that works...It's almost immpossible for it not to work...The Tazorac opens the pores and the antibiotics find there way in that much easier...anyone suffering from cronic acne should try this i'm sure it will work...It's science

I have been using this product for about 6 weeks. It was prescribed to me after undergoing PDT.
For the first 2-3 weeks, it was awful! But I read enough and knew enough about it to keep hanging in there. I'm glad I did, because it is really making a difference. I decided to compare it to accutane in my mind (which I have tried twice). And just like the accutane, you wouldn't expect results overnight. Just like with accutane, you will experience irritation and initial break-outs. Just like accutane, it dries you out. I'm surprised at the number of people that complain about tazorac's side effects, when accutane's are just as bad, and far worse (liver). And one thing accutane doesn't do, tazorac is smoothing my skin (I'm 35)-- so that's a real bonus.
Just think of this as accutane in a tube, and give it the same time and concession you would give to that.

I have been on it for 23 days...use it every other day, pea size. My acne is cleary worse, than when I started, but I am hoping it will clear at the 4 week mark. I am 42 years old and have had some form of acne since I was 13. Have been on Accutane 3 seperate times. This does dry the skin and make it red. I use it only at night. Use Eucirin anti red wash (new product) to cleanse twice daily. Will report back in a few weeks to let you know if it improves. God, I hope so.

i have struggled with acne since my teenage years and i have tried almost everything. this product breaks yo ut like crazy at first but u have to stick with it. i must say that the side effects suck though beacuse you peel like crazy and it is really embarassing. i am now almost completely clear but i do have alot of scars from previuous acne.

I've been using Tazorac (.05%) with Benzaclyn for over a year now. My skin has had a major turnaround with the Tazorac. I now have only a few pimples the entire month, where I used to have lots all the time. I've recently switched to the BP Gel that this website recommends and it works great in conjuction with Tazorac...I've stopped using Benzaclyn all together.

I have used Tazorac for several months now. It has really improved the condition of my skin and minimized my break-outs. Fortunately, I do not suffer from sever acne. However, I have experienced moderate acne (several bumps in clusters) and the occassional mammoth zit that takes a week or more to heal. Tazorac gel has reduced the frequency of my breakouts considerably.
The thing to know is that Tazorac works much better at PREVENTING acne that healing it. My doctor told me it would take a few weeks for me to see the existing acne clear up, but once that happened, if I continued the regimen, it would keep my pretty clear, and it has. It also has the possible side effect of worsening acne initially (drawing it out), but if you can endure that for a short while, I find the long term results to be really, really good.
My derm advised me to apply it, and wash it off after a few minutes each morning and night before bed. He also gave me a cream for the redness. I would say it is worth a shot if you want good long term results. If you are looking for a quick fix, you might want to consider something else.

I use tazorac at night, topical antibiotic in the morning, and am on orthotricyclene. In the past I have been on everything from Accutane to Retin-A, and tazorac is the first stuff that has worked as good as the Accutane (which stopped working the minute I went off it). The only problems are the dry, peely skin and a tendency for my face to get greasy throughout the day (a problem I never had before). Sometimes my skin is so itchy that in the middle of the night I'll scratch it in my sleep and wake up with big red marks all over my face. But that happens only occasionally. Mostly, I've been very happy with it. But now I'd like to start trying to get pregnant and I have to go off of it. So once again, I'm looking for a holistic approach. Bummer.

Bottom line: I'm giving Tazorac two more weeks to do something miraculous and then I'm trying the BP regimen described here. If I can wait two more weeks...
