| Pros: | working so far keeping my fingers crossed |
| Cons: | dry skin, flakey, moisturize 3 times a day |
| Bottom Line: | its been about 2 or 3 weeks.
i made the mistake of not applying a moisturizer with it the first couple days and applying too much.
skin started to dry.
i used biore ice cleanser and olay or aveno moisturizer then taz. and just the wash and moist. in the morning.
at first i turned red and broke out. but for once decided to stick with something.
I used differin .3 for months and broke out so bad and uncontrollable.
now i just got 3 zits this morning but first time in a while.
about to switch to cetaphil cleanser now bc of the dryness.
BUT ITS WORKING SO FAR, KNOCK ON WOOD |

| Pros: | Really does clear up skin, I only use it on my problem areas (daily on forehead which always has that 'gravel under skin' look) and every other day on my jawline. I use bp the other days. The tube has lasted over a year, so it was worth a $25 copay. |
| Cons: | Causes my skin to peel, was worse when I tried using it nightly (as prescribed), so I switched to every other night on my face, but continue to use nightly on my forehead, which for some reason doesn't peel, but does clear up! |
| Bottom Line: | It works, but use it only/as you can tolerate it, and my skin can only handle it every other night, so that's how I use it. |

| Pros: | GERAT, made skin smooth, less pimples, cheap. |
| Cons: | dry, redness, peeling! |
| Bottom Line: | At first, i totally mistook it for a SPOT treatment, and applied more on teh affected areas. WRONG. DO NOT DO THAT. i applied a bit more on the tip of my nose, and now my nose is peeling MORE than my whole face ;( but i can tell ive been getting less breakouts! (ive been using for 3 weeks). my nose is horrific..peeling and red skin, but it was entirely my fault. if you are suffering from acne, this stuff works. DONT PICK PIMPLES, and DONT PEEL THE SKIN!! let the dry skin come off itself. i peeled it,and there was red raw skin ;( GOOD LUCK! |

| Pros: | It is supposed to work and make your skin clear |
| Cons: | Dry, flakey skin. |
| Bottom Line: | I started using tazorac, but I am doing exactly what my dermo told me to which is to only do it twice my first week. So i have only done it once and my skin is dry and flakey, but it will work. I am not going to give up just because my skin is peeling, it's supposed to do that. Just make sure you moisturize before putting it on. |

| Pros: | Nothing so far. |
| Cons: | Breaking out more than ever before. |
| Bottom Line: | My doctor gave me taz and I quit using it immediatly because of the rough side effects of dry skin. I read some reviews and decided to try it again but It's been 4 weeks and so far, nothing but worse worse acne. I don't want to leave the house ever. It seems the reviews are 50% bad and 50% good. I need help!!! UGH!!!!! |

| Pros: | Reduces acne, makes skin very smooth |
| Cons: | Takes a while to work, a lot of peeling and burning in the beginning |
| Bottom Line: | I have been using tazorac for a little over a year now, when I first got it, I misunderstood the derm. and only used it on the specific pimple. So make sure to put about a pea size amt. all over your face, I also use duac topical gel on top of that - rec. by my derm. together they work very well. The routine that I have found to work (I have very sensitive skin) is to take a wash cloth, and dove sensitive skin bar soap and lather that onto your face, scrubbing moderately. Then make sure ALL soap is off, and dry off your face. Then take a pea size amt. of tazorac and put little dots all over your face, then rub all in. Then I use duac topical gel on top of that as well, and you do the same thing, just a pea size amt. and little dots and rub in. I have noticed if I, personally use more than that, it makes me break out more. So do not be too generous with the amt. just a pea size amount. In the morning I usually feel a little dry so I use a light moisturizer to have a fresh feeling. |

| Pros: | It seemed to work for me when I started using it a year or two ago. I used it for over a year solid, every night. I used the gel and never experienced drying or peeling. My skin is pretty resilient to becoming chapped or over dried. |
| Cons: | It left behind a lot hyperpigmentation. This was almost as bad as acne because from far away it looked like my acne was still there. |
| Bottom Line: | It takes a while to work and can be harsh to most. I was also on anti-biotics during the Tazorac. (Which I regret. Anti-biotics are not the answer, its like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound)
It is supposedly an aid for hyperpigmentation but I'll tell you the truth that derms won't. Time, stopping further breakouts and some surprisingly common products will help you more with red marks.
All in all, I would try the holistic route. I know, I know it sounds stupid but it makes so much sense when you do your research.
Remember: The drug companies want to you to believe the only way to cure your acne is to use their expensive products. (Not simple things like internal cleansing and eating a acne-free diet.)
It's all about money! |

| Pros: | Really does help keep skin pretty clear. |
| Cons: | Does not help with oil or pores (which my derm said it would); can cause redness or irritability. |
| Bottom Line: | I've used this stuff for about 2 years, but I'm trying to wean myself off...i hate being so dependent on a medication. It does help, but I have to apply a thin layer to my entire face, it doesn't work as a spot-treatment. Because of this, my face often appears red (especially in pictures!). Also, I was really hoping it would help with oilyness and big pores, b/c that's my biggest issue...it didn't. My dermatologist couldn't believe how oily my skin still was...she said most people experience major dryness. Sigh. |
