My friend gave me a sample of Tazorac on Saturday to try and I can tell in a difference in 2 days. I have TERRIBLE acne. I usually pay someone to do extractions on my face but recently I haven't been able to afford it. I usually get the big cystic acne bumps that never come up to the surface but hurt like hell but recently I had started getting tiny freakin bumps on my forehead.

I may want to add that I have also taken Accutane about 4 years ago. The acne came back....

Anyway, I tried the cream and at first it dried the hell out of my skin. It completely reminded me of accutane because layers of skin would just peel and peel wherever there is a major bump (lesion). That is the only part that sucked to me. If you put on makeup it looks like [censored] cause your face will dry out (again very similar to accutane). I went home today and used my dermanew microdermabrasion to get the rest of the flaking skin off. After that I reapplied the tazorac again. This time my face has not started peeling like it did before. I can tell a HUGE difference! The other day I looked like I had leprosy but today my face is clear enough not to wear makeup. I will say that I can still see the red areas where I had bumps but they are flat and it seems they are slowly fading. Overall I am extremely satisfied with tozarac.

I HAVE ANNOYING ACNE...RARELY HORRIBLE, BUT PERSISTANT. I'M 20 NOW, AND HAVE HAD ACNE FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS. MY FATHER IS ACTUALLY A DERMATOLAGIST, SO I THINK I HAVE TRIED MORE PERSCRIPTION ACNE MEDICATIONS THAN MOST PEOPLE. I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKE TAZORAC...I FIND IT TO BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE OF THE MEDICATIONS I HAVE TRIED. I WAS USING DIFFERIN FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND I DON'T THINK IT REALLY HELPED ME. TAZORAC HAS DEFFINITLY MAKE MY SKIN BETTER. HOWEVER, IT CAN BE REALLY IRRITATING TO SKIN...I NEVER EVER PUT IT AROUND THE BASE OF MY NOSE OR TOO CLOSE TO MY MOUTH OR EYES BECAUSE IT DEFFINITELY WITH MAKE SENSITIVE AREAS BURN AND PEEL AND ITCH LIKE CRAZY. IT ALSO TAKES ABOUT A MONTH FOR IT TO WORK BUT I DEFFINITELY HAVE MANY FEWER BLACKHEADS AND CLOSED WHITE HEADS UNDER MY SKIN. I DO RECOMEND TAZORAC, ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACNE MORE UNDER THEIR SKIN THAN ...PER SE.. POPPABLE ACNE? I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE. HANG IN THERE GUYS, ACNE DOES GET BETTER WITH AGE.

Ok, so I started using this stuff, and it definitely cleared me up. The funny thing was that I was using this stuff at night and BP gel in the morning. I stopped using the BP gel for a few days and my skin started breaking out! I was like, what's going on here?! Then, I started using the BP gel again to see what would happen and voila!! The acne is all gone. I think the combo treatment- this at night and BP in the morning is the best bet- BP dries your face like crazy so it gets a break when you apply tazorac. My skin looks 100 times better now (knock on wood) and I really think it's the combination of treatments at work!!

Doesn't really help with cystic acne or redness. May get rid of regular pimples but then again so does over-the-counters if you use them for weeks. Too expensive for a tube of lotion that doesn't even work that well.

tazorac is just a sceme to make u keep using it. it makes your skin worse and then slowely, SLOOOOOWELY, heals it. i have little pimples but red marks remain and dont seem to go away. Only use tazorac in a last option.

I've used Tazorac cream 0.05% cream for almost three years. It really has not kept my acne at bay too much. I am on a contraceptive that sort of controls the breakouts and use Benzaclin and Tazorac topically. I have tried every acne treatment out there except for Accutane and Dapsone (which isn't really on the market yet), and nothing really works. I still have mild acne no matter what I do. Your skin gets used to the Tazorac if you stick with it, though, so don't stop using it just because your skin is red, inflamed, or hurting. It will get better in a month or so. -Dani

I am using Tazorac for about 2 months now and for the first week or so, my face got really red and hot and it burned like heck!but now that I've been using it for almost 2 months I am starting to see results, but yes my skin is still dry and my docter gave me cetaphil lotion to put on my face before i apply tazorac and in the morning before i go to school. Even though i have to cover my pimples up with foundation for school, tazorac Defiantly made my cheeks and nose and forhead pimples go away or if not they mad them flat, but there still alittle red. What stinks is my chin is slowly getting better but thats where its dry the most.....SO for all you people that are complaning ...STick WITH IT because things will get better...i hope =)

Good luck to all of you!

It burns and itches and makes my skin peel. I've had an unused tube for about a year and when my breakouts started coming back I decided to try it again. My skin seems to be better - but after reading all the horrible reviews I can't help but wonder if that's a coincidence. Also, I've been applying it like Retin-A and using it all over my face - I guess that's what I get for not using it for a year and forgetting the instructions. But as a preventative, shouldn't you apply to areas that don't currently have lesions?

I have been using tazorac .05 cream for almost two months (once every two days the first two weeks, every other day the next two weeks, then every day thereafter). My skin is flaky but doesn't hurt too much (I think if it is hurting then you are probably using too much--pea sized is the right amount). I use a very very mild exfoliating cleanser to help with the peeling (clearasil 5in1 w/ salycic acid). I am still breaking out but am hopeful it is all the "bad stuff" coming up and will eventually work! I am committed to sticking it out, tho b/c I gave up on Retin-A and other topicals before because they made things worse and I didn't wait for the better that supposedly comes after. good luck to you all :o)

I have been using Tazorac for about 3 weeks, it makes my skin peel and it's not helping my chin acne, but it was reduced swelling and acne on my forehead, temples, and cheeks.
