This cream was terrible. I tried it for 3 mo. and quit. I have a very oily skin, and this cream makes it even oilier... I thought that this cream was supposed to make my skin red or irritated or even flaky, but it did nothing but made my skin just so greasy and shiny. It made my acne much worse since it is so greasy and oily. I couldn't stand it any more after 3 mo. of my trial. I was too embarrassed to go outside... It was the same for Retin A... I don't recommend this product at all unless you have a dry skin or normal skin. Oily skin people, beware!

This product sucks. It was prescribed to me 2 years ago but i could never stick with it because of the TERRIBLE effects it had on my face. I'm a full time, 20 year old student with moderate acne...I DO have a social life. I followed the directions and used it as prescribed. HA, THAT was a joke. It caused acne that was never there before. So after 6 weeks I'd had enough. I came across that tube of evil in one of my make-up bags tonight and decided to go online because I've just recently had a breakout from tanning. I put a layer of it on my face then started reading reviews online trying to remember the experience I had and why I stopped. After reading many reviews I quickly washed the death-cream off my face.
DON'T use this product. Benzaclin is sooooooo much better. I've been on that for YEARS and it always does the trick. Tazorac is something doctors prescribe so can laugh at you when you come back then put you on a different medication saying "Oh, guess THAT didn't work. Many patients have had the same complaints." UGH being a lab rat is not something I have time for.
This product hasn't been on the market long enough for doctors to actually know what they are prescribing. Everyone has different skin so it has different effects on each individual. My point is, I'm an average girl who goes to a university and cannot suffer from the humiliation of unclear skin. I don't have chronic acne by any means. But I want clear skin and tazorac DOES NOT WORK.

I guess this cream works the same way for most. It does a great job on my forehead and nose, but makes my chin look like I gave my self acne. My mom told me I've never looked so bad. Is it just me or should this product worn not to put on the chin?

I'm 27 and have had acne for about 13 years. It only recently started getting worse in the last 3 years. I started applying Tazorac gel every night back in Nov. over entire face. After about a month, my face was getting better overall, but was dry and flaky on chin. Derm suggested Taz because I am so oily - unfortunatley, I still am. (Thank you blotters! I couldn't go out without them.) About three weeks ago, my chin and mouth area suddenly became VERY red and VERY bumpy - I've never had that kind of acne before, I've been lucky and only had single spot-type acne, never like a rash. I now only apply to spots on remainder of face and have stopped applying to the irritated area altogether. I have a Derm appt next week - I'm interested to see what she says and if she switches me to something else. I'm also applying Clindamycin gel all over face before the Tazorac at night. I'm also a little concerned about the possible birth defects. I'm not pregnant, but may be someday soon... Final note: Vaseline was the only thing I could find that helped with the dryness. I've been applying at night. Feels good to "talk" about this, thanks.

I've been using tazorac for about 9 weeks and all it's done is get worse. I'm getting really frusterated and depressed. The dermistologist said it would get worse and then better. Well, it's gotton worse, but will it get better? The 12th week is almost here, and I haven't really seen that much improvement, was this a complete mistake? I am going to stick with it though, and let you know how it worked!

I just started Tazorac today actually and im so scared of my acne coming to the surface. That would be the worst. Im not afraid of dryness however because whenever my face gets overly dry i put a layer of vasoline on my face over night and it clears up dryness so fast. I guess ill report back later i just dont want it to get worse and then not get better. My acne on my face is not severe at all but its Very severe under my bangs so you cant see all that i just want it gone.

I've been using Tazorac for a little less than a week now, and well to be quite honest, my face looks like crap. But this is what the dermotoligist told me what would happen. The cream is bringing the pimples to the surface and sure they are more noticable now, but the cream is getting rid of them in the process. Be sure to keep it FAR away from your lips and mouth though, it will cause severe dryness, flaking and redness. I didnt even put it around my lips and they were as wrinkled as prunes by the morning. As long as you don't mind looking like an extra large pepperoni pizza for a week or so, then this stuff will work. trust me, i was skeptical at first, the burning was so bad I had ice on my face and was near tears. But it all works out in the end.

I've only been taking this med for about 3 weeks and it's becoming hell! The first week was actually good, I noticed some improvement in the way my skin felt and it's appearance. But, I was also using a BP cream in the morning. When I called my doc to ask him if the excessive burning was to be expected, he instructed me to stop using the BP, which was a huge mistake. Now I am peeling, burnings, and breaking out even more. My skin feels like it is going to crack and has also gotten a million times darker than my neck and the rest of my body. My neck itches and I don't even use it there. I am not happy with this med, AT ALL.. I'm gonna stick it out though, nothing has ever worked in the past.
