This is by far the best treatment I've used yet. I HIGHLY recommend the CREAM over the GEL. I've experienced both and the gel is absolutely horrid. Doesn't seem as effective, leaves face VERY greasy, and overall leaves face looking like crap. The cream makes face a bit shiny after applying...but I just usually wait about an hour after I apply at night and then "pat" my face with a towel, and my face doesn't look "greasy" or "shiny" at all. Basically I use it every 2 nights, apply at night, to entire face....YES it does sting a little, but not worth avoiding the product, because the [censored] does indeed work.

I've been using tazorac for about 6 weeks. I'm in my 40s, have had cystic acne for years and this is the first med that has helped a lot. Still get some breakouts, but their normal small zits that don't last and heal fast. Skin does get oily at end of day and makeup seems to float instead of sink in, which I think is what helps, the oil is not going deep into the skin. This product seems to create a barrier between oil, dirt and makeup. Use Mary Kay mattifier for oily spots, it's fantastic, unbelievable!

I was prescribed Tazorac a few months ago, actually 7 months ago. At first the derm said only a few minutes then wash it off and as your skin gets used to it keep it on longer, so i did and eventually left it on over night. It did make my face worse for a while but then since all the white heads were pushed out and gone, no more pimples could occur!! some how some white heads came back and im breakin out a little, im now on the taz gel which is stronger. ALl in all this product works great.

Thank you everyone for your helpful input. I was debating using it on my face (chin) and have decided against it.

Wow, this made my skin peel and crack, and worst of all, it made all kinds of cystic acne appear.

I absolutely recommend this. But you MUST must must use it every night and be so patient. But after about 3-4 months I started noticing a drastic improvement. i've used it for about 5 months and i'd say i've seen the most significant improvement of anything i've ever tried. USE IT DAILY and BE PATIENT. you'll thank yourself later!

I've been using Tazorac for about 5 months now and I have seen a definite improvement. I look at pictures from before I started the acne treatment and it really surprised me how even the little surface acne is gone. I used to have terrible and extremely embarassing acne on my back, shoulders, and arms and it has almost completely gone away. I get comments all the time about how clear my face is and many have asked what I've used. The key to this product is persistance and patience. You must apply it each and every night and be willing to wait 12 weeks to see a difference. Price-wise with my parent's insurrance it costs $15 for a tube, but it is very expensive without. However, I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to wait for a change.

I've been using it for three weeks now. I got off Retin-A Micro which I was using for three months. With Retin-A I kept on getting one pimple every 5 days to a week. I don't like the color of my skin now, a bit reddish and you can see every single spot on it. I didn't have much problem with flaking at the beginning or now. I haven't had a breakout since I started using it. I am using Klaron for onspot treatment and it seems to be working on the one new pimple, which I caused myself by squeezing. I also use Clindamycin daily. I also noticed that my skin is a bit oilier than when I was only on Retin-A and Clindamycin. But I suspect it's caused partially by Clindamycin. I am sticking to it, since I really do see improvement in not getting acne and that's why I got in the first place. I hope that if I get no new pimples for awhile, the color of my skin and those visible marks will improve over time as well.

Well I just started this a few weeks ago and it really seems to be helping me with my acne....I am surprised it is becuase I have tried every other topical and pill. The only bad thing is that when it is on my zits feel really really itchy and when i wake up my face is all peely and gross....I have also noticed that it makes it harder for me to do my make up without having to apply lotion like 24 times throught the process. If you don't get this gel authorized by your insurance company it costs like 130 dollars...but im not sure how much it is with insurance...my mom did that for me lol but It seemed to have worked for me so far....lets hope it keeps working!
