I used it one time and my chin and nose broke out in red itchy bumps. My lips swelled up and i could not eat. I have never had this problem with any other medicine

It seems to me like Tazorac is similar to Proactiv, even though the main ingredients are different. If you have a mild case of acne that is deeply rooted in the skin, then I suggest just using Clean and Clear or Neutragena, etc. I used Tazorac for only 3 days and stopped because my skin went from bad to worse. I was peeling everywhere and there were big juicy pimples I've never had before. It's been a month since I stopped using it and I still have these huges pimples that won't even come to a head. If I squeeze them, fluid or blood comes out. I now have scars all over my face in which I put cocoa butter on it. I have to meet with customers every day and I don't have 12 weeks to wait for the desired results. I don't want to freak people out while waiting for the miracle to happen. Just my two cents.

I am currently using Benzaclin, which is BP+Clindamyclin in the AM
and Tazorac 1% at night.

I have moderate acne… but when I was in the teens, my face was pretty bad so the doc put me on this regimen. You have to be patient, because it will work. I was clear for about a year and I lost my insurance, but was confident about my skin so I stopped using the medications.
BIG MISTAKE… in six months, my chin was covered with cysts and whiteheads. I really really regret not shelling out the bucks and stay on the medication because now I have red marks and scars all over my chin/mouth/ lower cheek area.

I also went to an Aesthetician who gave me facial and “extractions which could have caused all this mess too…
I tried the Blue-Light treatment… DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY, Didn’t really work for me..

I am back on the regimen of benzaclin and tazorac (I decided that I would pay whatever it takes) and it’s slowly clearing my face again. I just deeply regret not staying on… because I would be in this mess.

For all the people who are just starting out on Tazorac… PLEASE BE PATIENT, in the beginning it is hell, all the nasty bacteria and gunk that is trapped in your face is wanting to come out so your face might seem worse in the beginning, but as long as you continue… you will not regret it after the 3rd month because you will see substantial improvements,,, SLOWLY BUT everyday you wake up with ONE LESS PIMPLE, and sooner or later your breakouts lessen.

I was one of those people who will quit on a medication after one month… BIG MISTAKE… I never stayed on a med long enough to really feel its effects,,, so don’t make the same mistake I did.. be patient, and don’t worry it doesn’t look as bad as you really think

I have been using tazorac for a few years. You just have to be consistent with it and use cetphil moisturiser and face wash because it will dry you out bad. It will make you look like hell at first but after 2 or 3 months you will start to feel better about how you look. Another added bonus is that it works like Retin-a so wrinkles should stay away. Good Luck

My doctor said it would get worse before it would get better and he was not lying! I peeled and was red and it made my face oily from being so dry so I looked like a pice of fried chicken. Not to mention my insurance didn't carry it so it was very expensive. It also caused me to get Perioral Dermatitis which is small bumps around the jaw and chin that are itchy and red.

ok ive been using this for like 3 days now and my skin is not really changing yer but my doctor told me to wait a couple weeks..even tho i was hoping it would work instantly but the only thing its done so far is make my skin peel alot, but i like tat it heals your skin very well and quickly. I am also using finacea in the morning and putting on the tazorac after i wash my face at night. But im going to give these products a chance because i jus got of this medicane that completly did nothing 4 but made my face itch, hurt, and make weird bruise looking things in the area i out it on... and theis medicane was called "bezoyl peroxide" so obviously i got off that, and im also using a moistuizer call cetaphil in a green bottle "it seems to be working well with it...but now all i have to do is wait! Good luck 2 all of you..i know how painful it can be and make you wanna hide in your room all day!! but you have to strong or it'll jus make it worse on yourself!

It's way too harsh for me to tolerate. I'm not into the crusty biscuit look.

I have used Tazorac cream for about nine months now. I have mild acne but it never made my skin peel or even breakout worse than usual. I use it sparingly and apply it all over my face in the morning. It seems to smooth the texture on areas that don't breakout. I use duac cream at night and only use my acne cleanser(Zoderm)in the morning.
I have experimented with all these products and this way seems to fit my skin the best.

Ok Ive been using Tazorac gel .1% for about 5 weeks now ....I have mild to moderate acne and after i started using it i broke out really bad, in places i never broke out before. So beware if your looking for instant gratification this med may not be for everyone....im going to give it a month or two...i have tried almost everything retina, differin klaron...which really worked well btw...etc. So good luck for anyone else having trouble with this med:)

i have been on tazorac along with minocyclin for about 4 months now and have noticed somewhat of a difference. my face gets really clear and then the next day i see little tiny pimples waiting to pop up and then a few days later they do. My acne wasnt to bad to begin with its just hard to get rid of the little red bumps under my eyes and on my chin. It seems like they come in cycles. I believe some of this has to do with the amount of oil my face is producing and i dont know how to control the oil...feel free to suggest. However this product has worked very well on my forehead and it is now completely clear any acne.
