Pros: raised spots flattening. faster healing time for new acne. less new breakouts. gets rid of deep zits that have been there for years. Cons: burning, redness and peeling. Bottom Line: i have tried tons of acne treatments in my life but none have been as effective as tazorac. i started using it when i got engaged and was freaking out because the waiting list to get into the dermatologist was 2 months and my wedding was a year away. my sister told me to try it in the meantime. i was so skeptical it would ever work (nothing ever does.) it took about 4 months to really notice a difference. the first month or two were terrible. the peeling and burning was horrific and i didnt want to show my face out in public. but, i stuck with it. after you get that out of the way, it should just get better from there. the key is, no matter how bad it gets DO NO PICK YOUR FACE. dont touch, peel, pop, or pick at your face. it makes it a billion times worse. just exfoliate in the shower and leave it alone. this product is great because it makes your skin layers shed until the very deep rooted centers of the zits come to the surface (the zits that always seem to come back) Recommended: Yes Usage: anonymous has used this item for about a year. Pros: Really helps achieve clearer skin Cons: Horrible flaking, dryness, and redness Bottom Line: I've been on tazorac for a little over a week now, and I've noticed a great difference in my skin. The dryness was really bad at first and I was really self conscious, but by now it's almost entirely gone and I'm glad I stuck it out. Don't be discouraged by others saying it takes up to 12 weeks to get better, because that is not the case for everyone. Overall, this was the best skin medication I've ever been on. Pros: Strong medicine Cons: Peeling and burning. plus initial breakout sucks Bottom Line: I've used so much sh*t i'm 15 and started tazorac and sodium sulfacetamide 7 days ago. The past 5 days i've been breaking out bad mostly around my lips it's weird. i think it's just purging. anyone know if my skin will be more tolerate and stop breaking out hardcore? Pros: This clears up acne very well Cons: Takes about a month or so to actually start working, Very very expensive if you don't have healthcare, Flakey skin in the morning, Very dry skin Bottom Line: Tazorac is great but will cause your acne to get severe for the first month and a half. Pros: Skin clearing Better Tone and texture Hyperpigmentation goes away Cons: Lots of flaking in the morning Bottom Line: I have been using Taz for 5 weeks now. The first few weeks my acne got really bad! I was so self-concious i didnt even want to leave the house. There was so much flaking and scabing and i have learned DO NOT pick the flakes, or peel the dry skin, pop or poke at the pimples cuz it just takes a lot longer and looks way worse! Just put a little bp on it. Finally my skin is starting to clear up! I just once in a while get a whitehead when i wake up but about 80% of it is clear! I Am really happy. STICK WITH IT! It is totally worth it. This product does work. You need to make sure to apply it EVERYNIGHT no matter what! and only a pea sized amount for the entire face. Good Luck! Pros: Break outs seem to heal over night, coming to the surface or flaking off daily. Pores seem to be smaller Cons: inital breakout, lots of white heads and redness Bottom Line: Iam now in week 4 things are getting better each day, your really do have to wait through the intial breakout things will get better. I recomment waiting the full 12 weeks, for some ppl it may take longer to work. But if you give up you will never know. Pros: did smooth out skin texture after initial breakout improvement was seen Cons: extremely drying burned something awful Bottom Line: i only used tazorac for about a month, and at first i was happy with the results. there was some drying, and there was a really bad inital break out but i was expecting that. After awhile though my complexion did start to get better. As time went on, however, each application of the medication seemed to react less and less well with my skin. by the end, the burning was so bad that i would have to put ice packs on my face. I thought i was possibly allergic, but no other retinoids or similar products have given me that reaction. Recommended: No Usage: fratguy2010 has used this item for about a month. Pros: Has made my face smooth. Cons: Has made my pimples more noticible (red) andhas givien me pimples in places i have NEVER had them on my face. DRIES SKIN! Bottom Line: Okay well, i have been using this product for about a week (i know not long) . In the morning i use The Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Wash Kit and aczone. At night i use The BP wash kit again and then tazorac. MAKE SURE YOU USE MOISTURIZER. I have been using olay and my skin isn't dry except a little under my lip and on the side of my nose. Today after i used my regular daily products, i noticed my skin wasn't as red and it was starting to get a little clearer. I have used over the counter products (Acne free, spot treatments, clearasil daily wash,etc.) But none worked. Im so happy i finally went to the Derm. Pros: Smooth and glowing skin and improved skin texture. Cons: Peeling and flakiness Bottom Line: I've been using Tazorac for several years. It works really well in improving the skin's texture. My skin is usually flawless, but I still get an occasional pimple during my monthly cycle. I would totally recommend this.
