Pros works great, clears up acne, pore size appears smaller, less oiler
Cons does dry out skin, but nothing a bit of moisturiser wont first
Bottom line great product, nothing ever worked for my face this was the first product to work, affordable yet effective sure it does dry skin out.. however dry skin seems like a bad thing but when you think about the acne you've had you'd much prefer some dry skin because you can always wear moisturiser! after years of creams, face washes, pills nothing ever seemed to work, but this was the first cream to change the way i look and feel. definately recommend!!

Pros I'm sure it works for many and might work if you stick it out but first you have to witness your entire face burning off. Not willing to give it a chance given the results after two days. Luckily I didn't have to pay much with insurance.
Cons I look like a lizard that survived a horrible fire. Obvious emotional distress. Severe burning and pain, peeling, blistering, extreme drying, redness. Face peeling off. Prefer the acne.
Bottom line I only used it for two days - my face got so dry and tight that I woke up bleeding from the sides of my mouth where the skin had cracked, and basically my whole face is peeling off where i applied the gel - but only where i applied the gel (.05%) The places where I didn't put the gel weren't affected - so basically some of my skin is white and some of it is burned off crusty and red and peeling like crazy. Now there are what looks like blisters appearing around my mouth. My skin is now leathery and I look like a burn victim. My doctor didn't warn me of this - he said "you might have dry skin for a month". He should have said - make sure you don't have to socialize or work or leave your house if you use this stuff because its going to burn your face off.

I called out from work today but looks like i'll just have to go out in public like this because the show must go on. This is the most horrible horrible horrible thing i've ever experienced with my skin.

Pros This is an absolutly wonderful acne medication. Cleared me up big time, and is the only thing that worked
Cons takes at least 12 weeks to see results
Bottom line This is a great drug. I used this with klaron and minocycline and is recomeded that u use taz with a anti bacterial. I'll just give a wuick sum up of what i did. I went to the derm with alot of acne, i was alergic to bp and had a rough time finding an acne med. He perscribed me taz and klaron. The first month i aw improvment and i had a derm apointment again. He perscribed me mino cause he said i was going to have a lot of breakout the next 3 weeks and he was right. taz dystors your face before it get better so plz dont write a review till the 12 weeks is up. at week 8 i had one last breakout then i was clear and had a lot of red marks. Now I dont have much acne and a little red marks but its al good i look really clear. It will probly be another month till my face will be where i want it but i am really happy about my current status.

Pros Makes skin feel smooth. Clears blemishes fast
Cons Little Drying
Bottom line If you are breaking out in places that you never break out in then your applying to your whole face. Only apply to areas that you have acne not clear areas.

Pros I had horrible adult acne along my jawline, forehead, chin, and around my mouth. This cleared it up within 5 weeks!
Cons Broke out even worse the first few weeks of using the product.
Bottom line The only product I have found in the last two years that has worked, including birth control pills. Would highly recommend this. I feel confident again.

Pros Skin looks better, better tone overall, seems to clear up new breakouts quickly
Cons Very harsh if you have sensitive skin. Doesn't seem as effective on current lesions before starting Tazorac. Redness, irritation, burning, some peeling, acne will get worse early on
Bottom line I am a mature user (48) who has had acne off and on since age 15. Have periods of no breakouts, followed by random breakouts which get progressively more stubborn as I get older. I have used this 5 weeks now, which is probably not enough time to properly evaluate, but this medicine is not for the faint of heart and for users who do not follow instructions carefully. I was advised to start out at once per 3 days for 2 weeks, then every other day for 2 weeks, then every day. Dr. says a 50% improvement would be normal over a 2 month period. I think every persons case is different, dependent on age, type of skin, general health, and environmental factors such as stress, picking, etc. I do have faith this will work as I have seen improvement, but have gotten breakoutsm in areas that I haven't had in years and years. But my Derm. who is president of the Derm. Association of Tennessee says it is one of the most effective treatments he has seen for acne, including Accutane.

Pros Purged out all of my pores; My skin stopped looking and getting so oily through the day; Eventually cleared up a lot of the acne that had purged
Cons Eight week initial breakout, worst breakout of my life; Face got extremely red; Face peeled all the time; Awful Flaking; Skin overly dry ; No waxing; Emotional Impact
Bottom line Anyone whose used this product for less than the recommended three months/twelve weeks shouldn't be reviewing it. My skin initially, in the first two weeks, looked decent, wasn't oily anymore, still had stubborn mild/moderate acne. By week three I was in total despair - my skin was red, flaky, and I got the worst breakout of my life. It lasted from weeks three to eleven, because I was determined to give the Tazorac/Duac/Minocycline trio a fair shot, but emotionally, I was a wreck. By week ten, it began to heal. I wasn't really purging anymore, and my redness was fading. Now, at week twelve, my redness has mostly faded, my skin is still incredibly dry and flaky, and I'm more or less back where I started: mild/moderate acne. But I'm not really getting any new acne, so I'm going to give Tazorac a little bit longer to work its magic. Overall, I'd say it's worth a shot, but not if you can't handle an overly long purging period. Not for people with sensitive skin. Moisturize a ton.

Pros clears skin fast....smoother texture ....brighter skin
Cons dry skin, itching, flaking, large bumps,
Bottom line I have been suffering with acne for 11 yrs and nothing has worked, if anything all the products i used made it worse. My derm prescribed this with antibiotics and Ive only been on for a week in a half but besides me having more bumps then i strayed with the first few days, a couple days after u could really see the smoothed areas in my skin...I am really impressed and I hope it continues to improve..I'll give it some time.

Pros Begins working fast. Evens skin tone and reduces blackheads/whiteheads
Cons Sometimes burns. Over age 30, insurance may not cover as it is a retinoid
Bottom line I have rosacea and have had acne since my teenage years. This is the only product to help my acne. I use every other night when my skin is very dry.

A few hints I have discovered over the years are:
DO NOT use this product with other products containing alcohol or drying astringents. Makes redness worse and irritations awful.

I use Avalon Organics toner (no alcohol, ph balanced) in the morning to restore ph to my skin. Any other toner can work, but it has to have no alcohol or witch hazel.

Use a mild NO alpha hydroxy acid or beta hydroxy lotion when needed.

do not pick your skin. Had a friend get a nasty staph infection on their face from picking. Caused a lot of damage to their skin. NO PICKING. Make sure your skin is completely dry before applying the tazorac. I sometimes use a hairdryer on cool to make certain it's dry. The moisture + the tazorac will aggravate the skin worse. Good luck. It takes some trial and error but this med is wort

Pros Price. With my insurance and the rebate card from Tazorac, I did not have to pay 1 cent. I have not had any dryness, flakiness, or peeling.
Cons Very bad, painful breakouts. Every morning I wake up there are new zits.Big red painful zits. I'm breaking out in places i've never had issues with and the places i've always had issues with are just worse!!!!!!
Bottom line I've tried everything.I'm fed up. I'm 29 yrs old and I've had acne since I was 11.I'm taking 150 mg of Adoxa, a benezole peroxide in the am on my face and .1% tazorac cream at night. My acne has gotten worse than when I started. I've been on this combitination for 7 weeks now and there are not any improvements. I'm embarrassed to be around people and I feel like I look hideous. I'm going to continue taking this combitination for another few weeks and see if there are any improvements, but right now I just want to stop.
