| Pros: | Completely cahnged my life! The best... |
| Cons: | not much that I contribute to the medication, and nothing that I could imagine stopping the medication for. |
| Bottom Line: | I have posted a couple times of this product. I did a lot of research on the medication and read many of these posts before I begged my derm to prescribe this to me. I had about two to three large cystic acne at any given time but I only broke out around my mouth on my chin. I was in pain and I was depressed, literally I would not go to class, parties, even work sometimes becasue of my acne. This medication helped me get my life back. I started at 100mg buth got increased to 200mg quite fast. I have been on the 200mg for about two years. My advice is to really push your derm to prescribe this to you. I knew I wanted to take this and I had done alot of research and was pretty sure that it would work for me. She said that we sould try it and since then we have never looked back! Good Luck |

| Pros: | Less facial hair, less oily skin, cleared my acne right up. |
| Cons: | Almost past out from Dizziness when I first took it. Dehydrated a lot. |
| Bottom Line: | It cleared up my acne. I had horrible blackheads and terribly oily skin that would cause the most random of embarassing breakouts and small cysts. After about a month I could see and feel the difference in my skin. After 4 months my acne was gone. My skin was so smooth. Stopped taking it for 2 months because I had a surgery and my skin in HORRIBLE again. I'm back on it again. Caused me major dizzines and dehydration when I first started taking it but my body grew use to it. If you have acne, specifically hormonal acne, try this out! But be patient and keep consistent, it does take time! |

| Pros: | Reduction in inflammatory cysts, much clearer skin, not as oily, less inflammation, and it helped to reduce bloating also! |
| Cons: | Fatigue-went away after several weeks. I drank plenty of water, which seemed to help. Increased trips to the bathroom, when I first starting taking. Effects on Potassium. |
| Bottom Line: | I tried this after my derm recommended. He wanted to prescribe Accutane, but I was against it, b/c of side effects. He then recommended Spiro as a last resort before Accutane. Within several weeks, I noticed a huge difference. Less inflamed cysts, clearer skin, not as oily, even less bloating. I did have some side effects, (fatigue, increased urination) which went away after several weeks. I am also taking Yasmin, and Aczone, a topical, which also works very well. |

| Pros: | Nothing like it! No cysts, little facial hair, and weight loss to boot. |
| Cons: | Occassional dizziness. |
| Bottom Line: | Past menopause, mid-fifties, was still battling cysts, despite many rounds of accutane, dairy reduction. Really works for me. |

| Pros: | I didn't take it for every long...two weeks |
| Cons: | The medicine made me feel like I was going to have a nervous breakdown. I have no idea why. I cried all the time, over really stupid things. I called my mom, and she insisted that I stopped taking the medicine. |
| Bottom Line: | I thought there would be NO side effects...just be careful with any meds you take. |

| Pros: | Cleared me up completely. I love love love this stuff. Lost 10lbs. |
| Cons: | Headaches that usually go away after you drink lots of water. Frequent urination. |
| Bottom Line: | This stuff works so well!!! I begged my derm to put me on this and she finally did. I had about 30 acne cyst on my face when I started. By the end of the 1st month it decreased to 10. By the end of the 2nd month I was completely clear. I was so depressed before I started this med, I stayed in the house all summer and cried all the time. I was 25 y/o with teenage acne. I started on 50mg and got bumped up to 100mg. I tried all the antibiotics and topical creams available, nothing worked. I also started Yaz the same time I started spiro. Try it, it works. Be patient, it takes time. |

| Pros: | Works very well. |
| Cons: | Blood tests every 6 months to monitor potassium level. Had to see an endocrinologist for the script. |
| Bottom Line: | Hi everyone. This is my 2 year update. I don't use any topicals anymore. I never break out either. My skin is now super dry. In fact, I'm thinking of reducing the dosage to balance out the dryness. I never guessed it would have worked so well. I had extremely oily skin, so don't think it's just for mild cases of acne. I have 2 previous posts on here, so if you want to see my spiro progression, just scroll back. Best of luck.
By the way, I'm on 200 mg. daily, but about to drop to 150 mg. or possibly 100 mg. It's very effective over time. |

| Pros: | cleared up my cystic acne, pores are smaller, skin feels great at age 40 - - first time since I was a teenager |
| Cons: | hair is so dry now - had to cut a lot of it off. |
| Bottom Line: | Started at 50 mg/day then increased to 100 mg/day to perfect it. Dropped back to 50 mg/day to see if hair isn't so dry. I really like the effects, except for the very dry hair. At first, was fatigued, but took it at night and it helps me fall asleep. |

| Pros: | Really helps with my cystic acne |
| Cons: | Increased urination, always take before 4 pm so you're not up all night |
| Bottom Line: | I have been using this for hormonal acne since 2001, I started at 200 mg for the first couple years, it started to work for me right away. I'm now on 100 mg daily and when I don't take it I start to break out. I had visited tons of dermatologists and everything prescribed didn't help, actuallymade it worse. I have ashermans syndrome and haven't had a period since I was 19, so my hormones are pretty much all over the place, this and the proactiv I use are the only things that stop the breakouts. |
