| Pros: | Cleared up my acne. Did not dry out my skin. It was the only medicine that ever had any kind of effect for me. |
| Cons: | Smells bad. |
| Bottom Line: | I only have mild acne, but I get some pretty bad breakouts once in a while. After years of visiting my dermatologist and dozens and dozens of acne prescriptions that didn't work, or did, but dried the heck out of my skin (I have eczema as well as acne, so my skin is especially prone to dryness and flakiness) this stuff was the only stuff that helped. I highly recommend it for people with dry skin that have acne. |

| Pros: | cheap, works relatively quickly, doesn't irritate skin, is tinted so actually covers red marks |
| Cons: | smells terrible, dried out my skin |
| Bottom Line: | this stuff reduced the size of some big cysts within just a few days and i was really impressed. i couldn't give it a five because i've only been using it about a week, but this week i've seen more improvement on my face than i did during a month and a half of over-the-counter products. the only downside is that it has kind of a smoky smell, and whenever i put it on i would keep thinking "is something burning?" |

| Pros: | Doesn't make skin red like retinols |
| Cons: | Does nothing for inflamatory acne. |
| Bottom Line: | I was so hopeful to try this because A LOT of people on here say that this has worked for them. I've been using this for 3 weeks and in that time my chin has broken out into really big pustules which I don't normally get. Everyone seems to say that it takes a long time to work but how long do I wait until I try something new?? |

| Pros: | Initially this product worked great. I use it along with Differin Gel and Metro Gel for Acne Rosacea. |
| Cons: | I believe I have developed a resistance to it after many years (about 6) of use. I've begun seeking other treatments. |
| Bottom Line: | To help clear up acne - this is a great product and I would highly recommend it...To keep up the "clear skin" results, not so much. It is quite a let down to begin experiencing all of the acne again. |

| Pros: | Works great and is really easy to use. It does not smell or cause any other side effects. |
| Cons: | I think that after a few years it loses its effectiveness. |
| Bottom Line: | I am in the Army and so I get a generic sodium sulfacetamide for free. It is not that well known, but I have kept a stash of it.
I started breaking out again after a year or so of clear skin. I think I have developed a resistance to it or there is something in my new location that is causing me to break out. |

| Pros: | Controls oil extremely well...dries up pimples quickly. I used to wake up with really oily skin & don't have that problem at all anymore. Pluse I've noticed it controls my oil production throughout the day as well, I'm not blotting my face like b4. |
| Cons: | Doesn't smell great...I use Sulfacet-R. |
| Bottom Line: | I recommend it to anyone...I'm suprised that I'm 32 and this is the first time I've heard of it or tried it. Although I had never seen a dermatologist before now either.
I don't pay anything for it because of my drug plan, so I'm not even sure how much it normally costs in Canada. |

| Pros: | plexion cleanser is wonderful. At first it dried my skin, but after a weeks the dryness went away. Also, buy the plexion sct mask. You wet your face, and put the mask on evenly, and it dries quickly. The mask really tightens up on your face. |
| Cons: | nothing nothing nothing!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Bottom Line: | The cleanser is a great product. after a few days the dryness from the cleanser goes away. If your a woman and you wear makeup. The cleansers drying effect goes away quickly so your foundations and whatever will go on smoothly |

| Pros: | It works pretty well, I'll still get a small pimple every now and then but no major breakouts and no large ugly zits. It's clear, easy to apply and does not have any negative effects on my skin. |
| Cons: | None really. Klaron is expensive but there are alternatives available that are much cheaper. |
| Bottom Line: | I really like this stuff, my only concern is that it's an antibiotic, so all I'm doing is breeding resistant bacteria and eventually it will stop working. We'll see... As for the cost, here in the US at least there is an alternative drug called Sebizon. Klaron was a non preferred product through my insurance and was a $60 copay. Sebizon is only a $12 copay, and is also available in generic so it only cost me $5. Ask your doctor to write your prescription for Sebizon instead and it will likely save you some money, it's 10% Sodium Sulfacetamide as well and in my experience works just as well. |

| Pros: | I have been on Klaron for 1 week and it is the first time I have set foot outside the house with out makeup in 7 years! It does not smell, sting, burn, tighten or bleach anything. I cannot believe the difference. |
| Cons: | I have insurance but I would definitely pay the $142.00 is cost without it. I have spent way more on so many products. You only need a little bit too. |
| Bottom Line: | I am 36 and have been battling Adult acne for 7 years. The depression it has caused has also caused me to gain 100 lbs. I had tried everything except Sodium Sulfacetamide until 1 week ago. I am using it in combination with MD Forte Facial Cleanser I. It is the only med with which I have seen such dramatic results.
Goes on well under makeup too. My face is so clear I don't even recognize myself in the mirror. I am so happy! If you have suffered like I have this may be your only hope. |

| Pros: | Has really helped to prevent the little under the surface hormonal cysts that I get along my jawline and neck. |
| Cons: | I could see cost being the main con for most people. Fortunately, my insurance pays for most of it. |
| Bottom Line: | I have been using this every AM for a few months now and am quite pleased. My doc recommended this, along with Differin cream for PM, and an oral medication. I never filled the oral, and stopped using the Differin after I found that the Cosmedix Refine 8% product I have used for years works better, and I only apply that every few nights. Other than those two products, I just use wash (Vanicream bar at night and Cosmedix Purity wash in AM) and a good sunscreen every AM before makeup (Neutrogena Dry Touch SPF 30 or higher). Haven't had a break out in months. I do also get a mild chemical peel once per month. Between the peel and product I'm probably averaging at least $100 a month on my face, but it is well worth it to be clear and confident. I have struggled with mild to moderate acne for over 20 years. But ever since finding a routine that works for me, I get compliments on my skin frequently and people often guess my age at 10 years younger! Good luck all. |
