I have been fighting a mild to moderate case of acne for the last twenty years and have tried everything known to man, otc and Rx. I have been using Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% wash, by River's Edge for the last two years and found it to be a miracle drug. My skin is so clear, I routinely go without makeup. As far as cost...the insurance through my work pays all but $10-13 for a bottle, which lasts at least 2 months. I'll take healthcare in the good ole USA anyday. I lived in Canada and paid more taxes, more for necessities like gasoline and all I got in return was pathetic healthcare. Wonder why Canadians cross the border in droves to get healthcare in the USA?

i have terrible acne i went to a dermintoligist and he gave me Klaron 10%lotion ,doxycline pills, and differn cream. im supposed to take pills twices a day, put differn before i go sleep and klaron in the morning, the doctor says your acne gonna get worse for the first 3 weeks but after that it should get better and now its only been 2 weeks but i got more red smears that look like scaring but i think my acne is contagious, the reason is when i touch my face and touch another part of my body like my penis i get a pimple there and thats very odd since i never had acne in that spot but it goes away right away so i know this much that the acne i have is a bacteral infection not hormones so if you been perscribed the same medicnes as me tell me how it has worked for you. because i know the srongest stuff out there is acntane which is very strong and could give you liver prolems but it works like a nuclear that would hit your face killing everything.

I have been using Klaron for about two and a half months now, I was getting skeptical after about a month or so. I was wondering if it wasnt going to work. I say just stay with it and find a good exfoliator becuase that is what helped speed up the clearing process. Now I am almost clear a few minor spots maybe once every two weeks and hopefully it will be all gone within a month.

Not working like I had hoped after one month. Still get large painful cystic acne. Maybe not quite as many at a time and they don't last as long, but I was really hoping that by now it would be a lot better. I've tried Retin-A before, but was told that I don't have the kind of acne that Retin-A improves. I've tried all over-the-counter washes, masks, etc...and Proactive as well. My acne is only moderate, but any acne as an adult is bad.

I am 52 and have had problems with my skin for over 10 yrs. I have gone to 3 different dermatologists and have had many procedures ie, microdermabrasion, chemicals peels and now smootbeam laser. The smootbeam laser helped at first and then the acne started up again, on my chin, eyebrows, sides of my face and forehead. My doctor gave me a prescription for klaron just 7 days ago and boy what a difference. It doesn't burn or irritate my skin at all and the zits just last 2 days at the most. Could this be the miracle I have waited for? My insurance covered it because sometimes I have that problem if the medications are for younger people, I guess they don't think women in their 50's have problems with zits.

My only complaint is that they haven't approved Klaron yet for pregnant women -- I have been using Klaron for YEARS and I love it -- I have really pale skin and couldn't stand the "tinted" creams because they made the breakouts look worse (orange splotches). Klaron worked like a dream and I'd still get occasional PMS breakouts but nothing like before.

Then I got pregnant. And I had honestly forgotten what it was like to have bad skin -- I have spent a fortune on benzoyl peroxide products (the only OTC approved for pg) and now my face is still horribly broken out and raw and peeling. I stare at the bottle of Klaron in my bathroom and cry. WHY WON'T THEY MAKE THIS OKAY FOR USE DURING PREGNANCY??? Sigh. It's a miracle drug, really. Appreciate it when you can use it. I'd pay anything to be able to right now.

Sodium Sulfacetamide is only available in the form of a drug called Sulfacet-R in Canada. Here is a list of aaaaaaallllll the products I used before I found this. Clinique 3 step process, Vichy Normaderm, Benzoyl Peroxide,Biotherm skin cleansing line, Proactiv, Minocyclene and then finally Sulfacet-R. Surprisingly, to all of you complaining American's, I am Canadian and the government pays for a good 60% of the cost of my meds. Ha! So cost is not a factor because it costs about 10$ for a month. The drug works immediately (2 Days) and agrees very well with my skin in the sense that I had no reaction of dryness or epidermal irritation. The bad part of the drug was the fact that it was a paste that would sit on my skin and if I didn't blend the color perfectly while first mixing the paste, I would be screwed for the long run because I would be wearing loads of coverup over the drug. TAKE AS MUCH TIME AS YOU NEED TO PERFECT THE COLOR MIXING WITH THE PASTE. IT'S WORTH IT! As for my face. I used to get frequent pimples on my forehead and I had acne on my left cheek and all over my jaw area. My skin is still not perfect, but holy dinah, it is so much better. I look like a porn star!!!! TRY THIS STUFF because I have tried the expensive way and it's not the way to go. I write this review to pay my debt to Sodium Sulfacetamide and shun all the expensive crap that is being marketed on T.V. PROACTIV LICKS BA/-/-s

Try it - sooo much better than BP (that stuff is just too harsh). klaron is the only thing that worked for me and i've been using for almost 2 years - hardly a bump since i started with it. I tried the BP and many other products and never had luck. i didn't want to believe the derm, but i'm a believer now. i'm 36 so i may not have the rush of hormones others have, but for adult acne, it's WORTH A TRY!!!!
